View Full Details of Norwood Care HomeOverall very happy with the overall experience when my mum moved in. The staff are very friendly and helpful with any questions I have had. The staff are able to give alternative foods when mum is not wanting what is on the menu. Bedroom, warm and inviting.
I recently visited Norwood Care Home to see my grandmother, and I was deeply impressed by the exceptional care and welcoming environment. From the moment I entered, the staff were warm and attentive, going out of their way to make both residents and visitors feel at ease. The facility was spotlessly clean, well-organized, and had a cozy, homely feel, which brings a lot of comfort to my grandmother. The caregivers clearly know each resident personally and provide a level of care that's both professional and compassionate. My grandmother seems so happy and well-looked-after here, it was clear she's in great hands. Seeing her so content and thriving reassured me that Norwood is the perfect place for her. Highly recommend Norwood Care Home for anyone looking for a supportive, caring environment for their loved ones.
Norwood is a very homely, friendly home. Staff genuinely care for all the residents. My cousin was in for respite and cannot praise the home enough for making the process streamless. Good activities daily to keep residents stimulated and active. Home Manager seen most days when visiting.
My experience has been really good, but some areas could be better. The staff are very helpful and friendly except for one in particular and the manager is great, security is great but on the other hand hard to get into the building to visit when there is no one on the desk and when I have tried on several times to call head office and can not get thru to anyone.
My experience has been good. The manager and staff are very helpful and friendly. Security is great but could do with someone in the front office during the day as having to wait for someone to come, which could take up to 15 to 20 minutes before getting into the building and the same trying to get through on the phone to speak to someone. It took 45 minutes for my call to be answered.
My experience has been good, but there are areas that could be better. The staff are pleasant and helpful, except for one in particular. There could also be more activities done with your residence. Security is great but on the other hand hard to get into to visit or contact.
I arrived in August 2024, I was not pleased at first, as there is no shower in room, only a wash basin and WC. However, there is a shower room opposite my own room I can use this each day, so that problem is resolved. The food is usually good and full breakfast is available on request. Staff are very friendly and helpful and immediately come when needed. So far, I can only make favorable comments re the staff, but there is only one person for activities and therefore she is quite restricted in what she can do, but is very friendly and tries to include everyone.
Myself and my partner have noticed the care by all of the team from top to bottom has been excellent. All the staff in the home treat my sister with respect.
Mum is a resident in Norwood Care Home approaching her 11th year this year. Team Norwood do a wonderful job in looking after our mum who has complex needs, due to her rare health condition. Providing personal care and meal menus that incorporate and meet Mum's dietary requirements. All her needs are taken care of. The staff and management team are very welcoming and go to great lengths to include all residents in daily activities. Providing family days, lots of live entertainment and celebrations throughout the year. Norwood is a huge part of the Barrhead community and surrounding areas. Highly recommend Norwood Care Home for any of your loved ones who may need to use these facilities as they navigate their way through their journey in life. Big thank you to team Norwood from our family for continually looking after our mum. We don't know what we would do without you all. Your commitment is truly appreciated.
Staff are always looking to offer good care and support. They are very welcoming of visitors to the home and it is clear they know my mum well and take time to keep me informed.
I have found working as a volunteer at Norwood Care Home has been a great experience. The staff have been very welcoming and supportive and the Wellbeing Coordinator has been especially good. She has helped me get my confidence back. The staff work incredibly hard and their attitude towards the residents is fantastic and I also get to meet my aunt which is great, hadn't seen her in years.
My mum has just moved into Norwood in the past week, however, I am very pleased that she secured a place in this home as I visited many prior to making a selection and this was the place that impressed me most. The environment, the staff and conversations with current residents all confirmed this. I also like that it is a mixed unit and not solely dementia.
Mum always looks happy and presentable. She is always offered choice in all aspects of her life. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough for Mum or family when we visit.
Well done Norwood team, when family come to visit, there is always a lovely, warm atmosphere. One nurse takes great care of Mum, keeping her well. Staff are always courteous and friendly, and all go out at special and seasonal events. Kitchen staff always provide nutritious and delicious meals and buffets. Lots of fun activities are always on offer to keep both residents and families entertained. Thanks, everyone.
My mum lives in a very comfortable home with very caring staff. She is looked after very well and is settled. They go above and beyond and keep me informed if my mum's care needs change.
My sister is in Norwood Care Home following a setback I, together with my wife and daughter visited her last Saturday. I found the carers excellent in their treatment of and attention to my sister, as did my wife and daughter. They treated us like friends and their attention to her was exemplary. As I live in Southport, England, we do not get to see her very often and our recent visit makes us comfortable with how she is looked after. I cannot remember the name of the charming young lady who is my sister's main carer, but her friendly smile, which accompanied her words to us and my sister is to be commended as is her happy attitude and most pleasant manner. She is a treat to be with!
My mother-in-law has lived happily at Norwood for 11 months. Previous to her moving in she had sustained a really nasty injury to her leg. The staff did an absolutely amazing job in getting her leg completely healed. They kept us informed at each stage of her recovery and did a truly remarkable job. The staff are very pleasant and cheery and there are plenty of daily activities to keep all residents occupied and happy. The social media posts are brilliant for us as we don't live locally and this way we can see what my mother-in-law has been involved in each day.
Norwood Care Home has truly been an incredible experience for me as a volunteer. The staff at this facility are not only professional and compassionate, but they also create a warm and welcoming environment for the residents. The care and attention given to each individual is truly remarkable. I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact that the activities and programs have on the residents' well-being and happiness. It is a joy to be a part of such a dedicated team, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the resident's quality of life at Norwood Care Home.
My father-in-law has been in Norwood twice so far for a two-week stay each time. We have always felt he is safe, secure and happy there, he didn't want to leave after his first two-week stay with them. He has advanced Alzheimer and the staff know exactly how to care for him and how to treat him not only well, but with dignity and respect. It is definitely where he will spend any further respite stays. We enjoy seeing what he has been up to via their social media page which is updated regularly. Fabulous service and all the staff we have met have been amazing.
Mum has complex medical needs and really suffered during lockdown, as most residents did, but the staff learned to use Zoom which we continue to use today. I am most pleased with the appointment of an activities coordinator who has offered activities to encourage mental stimulation.
