My father has been in Cochrane Care Home now for 2 months. I have been very happy with the care given to him. The biggest positive I have seen is from all the staff. From the manager and all the people I've met who all seem to really care about my father's wellbeing. Everyone seems to show a lot of kindness and support.
Cochrane Care Home is excellent for residents who need help with their daily needs later in life. Staff are excellent/patient/helpful and very friendly. Cochrane Care Home entertain residents very well, manages everyone's interests, and also tries to get everyone to take part. Residents' rooms can be done up to make them more feel like home.
Visiting the home on a regular basis I find everything being run in a friendly and efficient manner. The staff are always available to help with any problems which may arise. Perfectly happy with the service provided.
I wish to commend the care my husband received, due to severe mobility issues following a devastating stroke which left him unable to function daily without a great deal of help and care. The staff at Muirshiel Unit were exceptional in kindness and patience at all levels, assisting him with food and drink as he was rarely out of bed and his care included a great deal of time and work for all of them, even getting to know his preferences and respecting him at all times. His end-of-life care was second to none for both of us.
I must thank Cochrane Care Home for the care and duty they gave to both my father and mother whilst they were residents in the home. Living in Glasgow I knew the care my father got and when my mother entered I had no problem travelling the miles as I knew she was in good hands. Thank you.
My dad has been in the Muirshiel Unit in Cochrane Care Home for 9 months now and I am delighted with the care he receives there. He settled in well and is very happy, visiting him is a joy. The staff are kind and patient with him and have taken time to get to know him and his likes and dislikes. They are always available and willing to discuss his needs. He also loves the activities, which are regular and varied, particularly if there’s dancing involved! Moving him into Cochrane Care Home has given me peace of mind that he is happy and well cared for.
My mum was in Cochrane care home for three months and recently moved but this was due to the location to have her closer to family. During her time she was cared for by wonderful staff who took the time to get to know her. The staff are led by a manager who has her residence staff at the heart of everything. It was a fairly stressful time moving my mum but the staff were professional, kind, compassionate and kept my mum and her needs at the centre at all times.

Safe, caring and respectful are a few descriptions of the excellent staff in the unit looking after Dad. Always welcoming to family and visitors. After a short illness, at age 92 years, he passed away with dignity and his family at his bedside. Carers and nurses were most attentive to his and visiting family's needs at a difficult time. A heartfelt thank you to you all.
My mum is currently living at Cochrane Care Home, she loves it there and is very well looked after. The staff are amazing, they clearly all love their jobs because there is a lovely atmosphere around the place. We know when we are not with Mum she is well looked after and the staff go above and beyond. We can't thank them enough. They are also very supportive and caring towards the families. We just appreciate everything they all do.
Always welcomed by all the carers when I visit my mum, all are very helpful and very caring.
Mum fell in her house and was in the hospital for six weeks. We knew she couldn't go home. Helped Dad choose a nearby home. Mum went from hospital to Cochrane Care Home during lockdown in September 2020. We could not visit either the hospital or the home. Keeping in touch with Cochrane House, they gave us updates, Mum had settled in well. The kind and caring staff has given Dad peace of mind, Mum is safe, happy and content.
My mother has had continual chest infections these past few months and as always the staff have been very much on "the ball" and have contacted the medical professionals very promptly. An ambulance has attended three times and she was admitted to hospital for an overnight stay. On the third occasion, they have also sourced antibiotics from GPs. We couldn't be happier or more grateful for the care and attention shown to her by all the staff in her almost thirteen-year stay.
Our brother has received excellent care since the day he arrived. Staff are very caring, professional and are sensitive to all his needs.
I wanted my wife to be looked after in a care home as she would be looked after at home. I think she gets that at Cochrane Care Home.
I cannot thank Cochrane House enough for the way they have cared for my mum. Especially during this terrible pandemic. She is coping really well not seeing family just now and it is all to do with the care she receives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
All staff are extremely caring and our family member always looks well cared for. Good communication.
My wife has been in care now for just over a year. At first, I felt reluctant to let her go but I have every confidence she is being given the best possible care at Cochrane Care Home. The staff from the management onwards, are very alert to the performance of the staff who keep me informed regularly on my wife. I'm very pleased with the cleanliness and pleasantries of all the staff. The entertainment is also a big bonus, which is thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The first thing you notice is the friendly, homely atmosphere. My father was very happy here, and although suffering from dementia managed to communicate quite well with the wonderful staff and other residents. As a visiting family, we were always made to feel most welcome and we were happy to be involved in some of the activities. We shall continue to support the Cochrane Care Home in their fundraising for making our father's time there so comfortable. Many thanks to all the staff.
