View Full Details of Almond ViewThe care my auntie receives is fantastic, the staff are so good with her, very friendly and approachable for us all as a family too. Always give me updates on how she's doing and are happy to find solutions to any issues that pop up not that there are many.
My mum was transferred to Almond View Care home where she was made to feel welcome after 12 weeks of care in the hospital where she was severely deprived of stimulation resulting in weight loss. Within three weeks of the transfer, she was gaining weight, interacting with staff, other residents, and attending activities three times a week. It was therefore tragic when she had a stroke just as she was starting to make such magnificent progress. Luckily, Almond View also does end-of-life care and we were able to get her back to the surroundings she was comfortable in for her last week. With nurses available 24/7, they ensured she had a peaceful and dignified passing with everything being done in a caring rather than a functional way. I also could not have been treated better for that final week, with 24-hour access and genuine kindness being shown by the staff. From the home manager to the cleaners, everyone cared, and that is what makes a great residential nursing home.
My Gran has been a resident at Almond View for just over a month. The difference in her is clear to see for all, she is safe, happy and has put on weight since being in the home. The activities are fantastic, always something on for everyone, great atmosphere and all the residents seem happy. The staff cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble. I always feel welcomed. Management is approachable, visible and knowledgeable and guided us as a family through the whole process of moving Gran into the home.
Our mum was admitted to Almond View Care Home from hospital. We knew she was going there for end-of-life care and so did Mum. She was in her 90's and physically failing but still enjoyed a chat and music and cheerful company. From the day I visited the home before Mum was admitted, until the day she died a few weeks later my sisters and I were met with friendly smiles and helpful staff. Mum was treated with respect, kindness and warmth. From the receptionist to the manager, service staff and carers, we will be forever grateful to Almond View for making our mum's last weeks peaceful, calming and friendly. This will not be the smartest home in the area but I don't believe you'd find one with more caring staff.
I think the standard of the home has gone down in the last year. Not enough staff to care for residents, a lot of agency staff, especially at night. Not enough domestic staff, cleanliness has gone down. There is a lot of good about the home too. I don't agree with the two homes being put into one home with a new name.
I want to say that there is not a minibus available for activities or appointments nor is there WiFi for residents as stated in the description of Almond View Care Home.
I have been visiting my relative in Almond View for a couple of years and I felt I had to write a review as in the past 6 months or so I have noticed a huge difference when coming into the home. The staff seem happy and the care I have witnessed not only to my relative but others is fantastic, such a caring happy environment and I could not feel more content in knowing my relative is very well looked after.
My mother is now a resident, and I can honestly say the care and support we have had from the team in Almond View is second to none. The staff can not do enough for you or the residents. I could not wish for a better place for my mother to be.
All the staff at Almond View Care Home looked after my mum with respect and dignity. They went the extra mile. They took into consideration that my mum, even though she stopped talking, always asked her if she was ok and helped her with all her meals and drinks. The staff always made all the family feel welcome.
My partner has been resident for almost two and a half years. During this time, excluding lockdowns, I have only seen professional, courteous care by all grades of staff. This purpose-built facility provides necessary equipment e.g. pressure mattresses, hoists and in our case, a custom-adjusted wheelchair was obtained from the NHS. Overall I am content.
I have found any members of staff to be caring, helpful and kind to both myself and my brother that they look after. They are professional in their duty. They are very professional in their duty. They cajole him when he is needing it and are always very cheerful and pleasant.
My mother enjoys first-class care in a safe environment. The staff are aware of her changing needs and adapt the care quickly and efficiently to meet her needs.
My father has had a satisfactory stay in the care home. He gets on well with the staff and says they are very helpful and nice to him. I feel he could get more interaction relating to activities. Due to his inability to leave his room, I feel this area of care could be improved. My dad has no complaints regarding his food and personal care. Any issues I have had were dealt with by everyone I spoke to.
Almond View care staff take excellent care of Mum. The care home is my mum's home and the staff are her other family. Mum is treated with respect and dignity, also genuinely with love. All staff from management to kitchen/housekeeping staff care about Mum. The manager is friendly and approachable - her door is always open. If I had concerns I can and have spoken with her and they would be dealt with. The staff work hard to keep Mum involved in activities especially as she sometimes is not enthusiastic. Mum has been in the care home for a long time - she would not be there if I had concerns.
The family feel safe and secure in the knowledge that our mum is so well cared for by the staff and the management. Mum feels at home here and enjoys her time. She loves to join in with other residents when she can but also loves the privacy of being on her own when she wants to. The carers and nurses look after her so well and she adores them. The family can't think of her being anywhere other than here.
My dad came into Almond View on the first of October and had been ill and looked terrible. The staff and the manager have been fantastic and it's good to say my dad is so much better, he is like a new man. I've had great support from everyone at Almond View at a difficult time. The care home is always clean, tidy and a happy atmosphere with all the staff. The manager is always in contact with me about what's going on.
My father has been a resident within Almond View for approximately two years. I have always found the staff to be caring and attentive. Throughout these challenging times for everyone, the staff at Almond View have managed to retain their sense of humour which is extremely important for my father on his dementia journey. When speaking to the staff who work closely with my father, it's obvious they have taken the time to get to know him. The manager and her team keep me and my brothers up to date with any changes and we are confident my father is being well looked after.
I visited my friend yesterday. She was in bed and needed to use the toilet, which she is unable to do without 2 carers. After buzzing for help, which took around 10 minutes to arrive, 2 staff members appeared in her room to help her. They did not introduce themselves (my friend is blind) and then I left the room while they attended to my friend.
I am very pleased with the care and attention of my mother, from all staff. My mother seems very settled.
Mum moved in October 2020 during the pandemic. No negative experiences. Find the staff to be supportive and informative. Mum always presents in a clean and tidy fashion, which she was used to prior to moving in. Difficult to give an in-depth review due to not visiting at these times.
