Currently very happy with the activities, every day I visit there is something going on - singers and groups providing entertainment that is inclusive to everyone. Fun afternoons for everyone to enjoy or memory games. So happy to see this.
The care and nursing staff are always friendly and approachable and attentive to my partner's needs. If I have any concerns is that occasionally noise levels in the lounge can cause my partner to become anxious and agitated - could be managed better? On the whole, the food is well-presented and nutritious and there is plenty of orange and blackcurrant squash on hand. Some of the bedroom furniture could do with being replaced but my partner's room is always clean and tidy. The care home manager continues to run the home extremely effectively and is, and always has been, very helpful, approachable and supportive.
My sister recently moved into Almond Court Care Home after the care home she had lived in for six years closed unexpectedly. However, I'm very glad to say that the staff at Almond Court have proved to be very good at taking care of her and dealing with her complete needs. They have shown patience, skill and kindness while looking after my sister. A good variety of enjoyable meals are served. The decor in the home is bright and colourful and the standard of cleanliness is high.
On the whole, I think Almond Court Care Home is a good care home, although I have little to compare it with. I rated the 'value for money' as 'poor' which is a reflection on the current high cost of residential care - so not aimed specifically at Almond Court. The staff are all very good and very friendly and welcoming which makes visiting so much easier. I really like the fact that you are trusted with the door code and don't have to ring a bell. It makes the place seem more welcoming. Main gripe is about glasses going missing but the staff do their best to find them. My husband is guilty of moving stuff about so a lot may be down to him. Overall, a good place with a good manager.
Every visit is always very positive. Staff are always attentive and friendly. Rooms are always clean and tidy and our brother seems content.
My mum is generally treated with care and consideration. When her weight fell, they immediately put her on a fortified diet, and the cook and I have had conversations about Mum's likes and dislikes, which have improved her eating habits and have put weight on her. There is a varied set of activities now, although Mum doesn't join in - she enjoys seeing others and listening to any music.
The care home is a caring environment. Carers are amazing - treat every client with respect and compassion. Lovely surroundings and rooms are nicely decorated and bright.
The staff are very professional and caring, interactive with every resident. Always organising events for residents, never have temp workers so the staff know the people and it's better for them to have familiar faces. Can't fault this care home. 100% perfect.
The staff are great and we're really happy with the majority of the facilities. Some areas for improvement would be to introduce more activities geared towards men as my husband is not really interested in participating in the current activities on offer. My husband also feels that his hot meals are often rather cold e.g. potatoes, veg, and chips are particularly cold so he isn't eating as much as he normally would which is becoming quite concerning. If these points can be addressed, I feel my husband would be a lot happier.
Staff and management are very helpful, put effort into providing entertainment for residents. Our overall experience as a family has been excellent, we thank you all very much.
A huge thank you to all staff at Almond Court care home, Drumchapel for all their care, comfort and attention given to my late brother during his 5/6 years as a resident. Everyone did a marvellous job under some very exacting circumstances, as I saw on my visits. This was very much appreciated by me and my family. I would certainly recommend this care home and have done to friends.
I was extremely happy with the standard of care, compassion and dignity that was afforded to my mum during her time within Almond Court. After experiencing less than adequate care at a different facility, I was very apprehensive about placing my mum and our trust in another. However, within minutes of speaking with the manager, my fears and worries were alleviated and I knew that this would be the best place for my mum to live out the remainder of her life. During visits, other family members and I were made to feel welcome and nothing was ever too much for the attentive staff. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home and I am forever grateful for all they have done for my family.
I have been so happy with the care my husband receives. He is very well looked after and I could not wish for anything better.
My dad has only been in the home for 4 weeks but we have seen some improvements in him already. The staff are all very nice and attentive. On the day of his birthday, he was in high spirits and was telling us about them singing Happy Birthday to him. It showed us how much they care. Due to his dementia, he can be very grumpy but the girls are so good with him, they bring him around. Thank you.
My dad loved Almond Court. We, Dad and I, made a lot of friends there in staff and residents, it felt like a second family. When Dad passed away in Jan this year the staff took his passing hard. I so know how hard it is not to get close to people you look after but still be professional at the same time. I'm still visiting the home and would like to help with activities to give back to the home for all they had done for Dad. If anyone is looking for a place I can't say enough of Almond Court.
My husband is more content and more engaged than he has been for a long time. The staff very quickly have the measure of his personality and encourage him to become more mobile. Friends that visit often say that he is on great form. One said, "Quite the best visit in years! Quite uplifting!" Other comments from visitors are often how good the staff are.
My mother-in-law by March 2022 had advanced dementia, which was horrific for the family to see. We could not have gotten better care for her and for ourselves by everyone at the home, including management. They went above and beyond every day. Everyone is treated like family and nothing is a bother. When she died, it was dealt with with care and dignity. Almond Court Care Home is a wonderful place.
From management to every member of staff in the home, they go above and beyond for every resident in their care and make sure all visitors are made to feel welcome and they are always polite, friendly, and approachable.
