View Full Details of Baillieston Care HomeThe care of my mother from all of the carers was heartwarming. To be able to leave after visiting and knowing mum was taken care of with such love and care made the worry a lot easier. Thank you all for everything.
My dad has been a resident at the home since January 2021 and he is settled and happy. The staff from top to bottom do their best at all times to meet his needs and everyone else’s too. Any concerns I have had or requests have always been addressed and the best care possible given. The home like every other has had issues with staffing levels but this is mostly covered with agency staff (not ideal). but there seems to be more permanent staff visable lately whom are all very friendly and interact well with the residents. The home itself is well presented and clean. I don’t see a lot of activities going on between staff and residents which is a bit disappointing. Overall my dad is well cared for and all his medical and personal needs are met. The staff keep me well informed of any changes in my dad’s health and needs. They always remember all the family’s names and make us feel welcome at all times.
My mum has been a resident since March 2020. This was a difficult time for everyone and the manager and staff were great. They did their best and were always available to ask questions when I’m sure they were inundated from all families. The rooms are clean as is the other areas of the home. My only negative comment is that my mum's clothes and glasses are always going astray and there are many times she has someone else clothes on. This aside the care home does a fantastic job and I would happily recommend them.
My Mum is a resident of Baillieston Care Home. She is happy and I feel she is well cared for. The staff are attentive and very caring and upbeat. Thank you to the manager and all the staff who spend time looking after her. Her key workers are especially attentive. The only negative point is the food as my mum is not happy, she complains to our family.
Care is generally good. Entertainment is sadly lacking, and I find it quite frankly shocking that in this day and age the residents have no access to WiFi. Too many residents' items go missing, such as spectacles and clothing.
I am writing this review in the hope that the owners of the care home take some notice (not the care home Manager). Whilst I understand there will be a new activities coordinator starting, the home has had no coordinator at all for some considerable time. Two positions are required to be filled and only one has been filled thus far. There has been little if any stimulus or daily interactions for residents. Residents are more often than not left to watch TV, sometimes unsupervised. Whilst required staffing numbers seem to be met, this is more often than not predominantly using agency staff. Always changing and bringing no continuity or investment in the care or relationship building with residents. Hopefully, it will improve but in comparison to other care homes I have experienced having other family members in, the stimulation for residents is night and day.
My mum was a resident at Baillieston Care Home for 3 years until she passed away in May this year. Everyone connected to Baillieston Care Home is amazing. The care for her welfare was always paramount and all her needs were fully met. Especially end of life care, she was treated with dignity and respect throughout. As a family, we always felt supported by the staff and kept informed in every step of our mother's care. Covid was a challenging time in which they all did fantastically well in keeping the residents entertained. This is a home which is very much involved with the local community. My family and I would not hesitate to recommend Baillieston Care Home. An absolute gem of a place.
It is never easy when your parent has reached the stage in their life when they have to move into a Care Home, and that was the situation facing my mum in April 2019. We were extremely fortunate that a room became available in Baillieston Care Home. The attention my mum received from all of the staff was second to none, even with the difficulties associated with Covid 19. Sadly my mum passed away in July. I was able to be with my mum when she passed, and the comfort from the staff that both my mum and I received during her final week was tremendous. I cannot thank the entire team at Baillieston enough, and wholeheartedly recommend them when you face that difficult time.
Lovely care home, residents are so well cared for, food is excellent and each resident is catered for. The staff are the best, so welcoming and the care provided is just the best. I can’t recommend highly enough.
The home have made my dad and the family very welcome. Dad has settled in well and staff have taken time to talk to the family and get to understand my dad’s need, likes and dislikes. They have gone out of their way to assist in anyway they can.
My dad has been cared for by the home since January 2021. It’s been a very difficult time. However, I have found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The Manager does her best to keep us updated and has always made herself available to help when needed, which is appreciated. I don’t envy her or her team just now but they are doing a great job! Home very clean, rooms comfortable but can’t comment on food as have not tasted. Special mention also to the lady on the front desk, who is always available, very friendly, helpful and always does her best to answer my questions. Would I recommend the home? Absolutely. Thank you to all the staff for your care & support of my dad!
My mum spent the last 4 years of her life under the care of the wonderful staff at Baillieston Care Home. Due to poor health, my mum was completely bedridden and in need of 24-hour care, this was provided with the utmost respect and professionalism by each member of staff she encountered during her stay. My mum loved the social interaction between staff and residents, despite her poor health my mum loved a joke and a blether and the staff were always very accommodating with both. From carers to management, the friendly staff are what make it so special and I wouldn’t have wanted her anywhere else.
I would highly recommend Baillieston Care Home. My dad is currently a resident. My mum was, but sadly passed away in May this year. We could not have asked for better care for them both. The staff go above and beyond, one person in particular who spent hours with us at Mum's bedside while at end of life. Mum had the best care we could ask for. The reason we picked Baillieston was our first impressions and the lovely themes that ran through the home. It was bright, colourful and cheery and gives.
During these difficult times, I have been very impressed with the staff and the manner in which they have coped with the situation. Communication has been very good, with phone calls, Facebook photos, email updates, etc all keeping me informed and up to date with what's happening at the care home and with my mum. The recent "drive-through" visit was excellent and well organised, and it was great to see Mum after three months of no visiting. Many thanks to all staff for their efforts and continued care; it is very much appreciated.
The staff at Baillieston Care Home have been so helpful, supportive, and kind during these strange times. They have done their best to ensure my gran is aware of what is going on and have continued to support her. Even during her bad days they still provide the highest level of care.
From the first introduction to management and staff, I was made to feel that my Mum would be well looked after. There was a genuine interest in my Mum and her needs. This has been a very difficult time for everyone in this pandemic but the home has tried many ways to allow us to keep in touch, from Facetime calls to drive through visits, at all times trying to keep my Mum's spirits up. The staff and management have been great.
Due to the current climate, COVID-19 I have not been able to visit. Mum has only been in a couple of months but the staff have been brilliant with video calls and drive through.
My mum has been a resident at the Baillieston Care Home since 2016. In that time, I have got to know the staff very well. Everyone is so friendly and caring, especially towards my mum, who resides on the dementia floor. The home itself is very spacious, it's clean and tidy at all times and is very well run with the management and office staff. Mum is provided with freshly made meals throughout the day, which is suited to her dietary needs. Her clothing is always washed and ironed to a high standard at all times, and there is a constant stream of entertainment for the residents. I, like many others, was concerned about my mum's health and welfare during this covid-19 pandemic, however, when I phoned, the staff gave me updates on Mum's condition reassuring me she was well throughout. With their rigorous infection prevention control policies in place, they have kept Mum safe during this time. Words cannot describe how I and all the family members feel knowing that when we leave Mum after a visit, she is in a safe place with round the clock care. Thank you all.
Mum moved to Baillieston after her first care home closed down and we were immediately impressed by how welcoming and kind the staff team were. Mum has been a resident for nearly two years and the staff are now like family to her and us. Can’t speak highly enough of the incredible job they have done to keep residents and families cared for throughout this COVID 19 crisis. They all deserve medals and to be valued as much as families and residents value these amazing people.
Very good caring environment, totally trusted with Mum's care. 100% better than previous her previous home, which I had to report, as the carers here actually care. During lockdown I have been very stressed but only because I can't see her
