View Full Details of Cardonald Care HomeI am actually blown away with the care and support my mum received at such a difficult time of year. Mum was admitted to this care home just before Christmas, we were cautious and worried that she wouldn't settle, however the manager was lovely, she made us all feel so welcome. The parties were constant and they even had a New Year's Day party. It's was open for everyone for Christmas and New Years lunch. An amazing place to be and I would have no hesitation on recommending.
My great aunt has been in Cardonald Care Home since November 2024. At first, I was nervous of her settling in. I needn't have worried as due to the fantastic staff she felt at home immediately. The Christmas and New Year parties helped us all to get to know everyone in the home and enjoy the fun.
Absolutely delighted with the care my wife receives in this care home. The new manager is a lovely, kind lady who has been there, from my wife coming in, and she along with all staff know what my wife likes and dislikes. I felt guilty when my wife went into care and now I'm happy I made that choice as she is now back to her lovely self and I can't praise you all enough. Thank you with all my heart.
I chose Cardonald Care Home based on visits I made to several homes and also location. My brother entered the care home in August. I cannot praise the staff enough, they are superb, very caring, polite and friendly. They got to know my brother and his manners immediately. This helped my brother to settle into the home very very quickly and he seems happy to be there which is the prime consideration. We, as visitors, are always made welcome and encouraged to personalise my brother's room in any way we feel. The home excels in staff/resident relationships, hygiene, cleanliness, feedback to relatives. Since my brother moved in, I cannot pinpoint a negative experience.
My relative has now been in Cardonald Care Home for a few months, today she returned from hospital back to the home. The staff are always amazing, updates on phone and always provide you with information regarding your relative when entering the home to visit. Staff work really hard, very friendly and caring. They do amazing job and as a family we appreciate the care they provide. Thank you.
My mother has dementia, and she was living in her own home (with the help of home care services) after the death of my father (her husband). Mum moved into Cardonald Care Home in May 2022 as her dementia had really progressed. My mum couldn't be happier in the care home; she always has a smile. The staff continue to provide a friendly and homely atmosphere. It's not just the carers that make Mum's life better, but all staff from the kitchen, domiciliary, office staff/management, etc. As a family, we could not be happier with our choice of care home.
The staff are amazing with my mum. They treat my mum as if she is their own and we are extremely grateful for the care and respect shown by the entire staff within the home. It gives us comfort that when we can’t be with our mum she is well cared for.
No problems. I've found all the staff very helpful.
Being a small home, it comes across more as a family. Staff and residents get to know one another which is such a bonus. The home has acquired a new activities person and is now in situ and what a difference this has made to the residents. I would recommend this home to anybody, it has a lovely feel to it.
All staff are very friendly and approachable, giving updates when needed. My husband can be a bit moody but staff know his ways now, coaxing him along. I'm thankful he is much more settled than at first. He enjoys listening to his favourite singer, he aslo sings along much to the delight of everyone. As well as caring for the residents, the staff care for the relatives too. A hug to comfort and even a shoulder to cry on when things get tough.
Mum is well looked after and that gives me peace of mind. Staff are always helpful and caring. She will be 101 on 29th May and the staff are organising a wee party for her which is wonderful. I can’t thank everyone enough.
My precious mum came to stay at Cardonald Care Home on the 12th of January 2022 until she passed very peacefully, surrounded by love and compassion on the 16th of October 2022. Mum's care needs were very complex due to her Frontal Temporal Lobe Dementia. Her care was simply outstanding right from the outset. Mum had her own little room which we furnished with her own little comforts and many family photos. Mum was very happy and enjoyed all the activities offered in the home. She was always immaculate, well groomed, fed and hydrated. We, as a family, were always made to feel extremely welcomed by the staff who went out of their way to not only get to know my mum but also kept a wee eye on my Dad who visited Mum daily. During the period of End of Life Care, the staff showed love, compassion and support to all of us as a family. We will never forget their kindness.
I cannot speak highly enough about the care my wife has received at Cardonald Care Home. The attention she is given means I can relax knowing she is in the best hands. We were so grateful and lucky to get a place there. We had held off until a place there was available as the facilities and care given are second to none and now she is there, it has been wonderful. My thanks to the staff who are great. My wife loves it there and with her dementia, it's important she feels comfortable. Thanks a million.
Mum has only been in Cardonald for a few weeks. She requires nursing care. She is mentally still very sharp - the deterioration in her health is purely physical and she is now bed-bound. It's early days, but I have already been very impressed with the standard of care at Cardonald. The staff - and there always seem to be plenty around - are very kind, patient, organised and experienced. The home manager arranged for Mum's room to be redecorated in advance of her arrival, and the room looks very nice. Mum is enjoying her food there. She has a TV in her room. Overall, I think this is a good place for her. The home itself is a relatively small one compared to others, and I think this is an advantage. The whole place feels like a sort of family. As I say, it's early days, but at this stage, I'm very happy to recommend Cardonald to others.
I have found Mother has come on a great deal since moving into this home.
My mum has been a resident in Cardonald Care Home for two years now. When we first stepped into the home my two sisters and myself knew it was the one for our mum. It's small and homely. The staff are fantastic, very caring, compassionate and enjoy chatting and laughing with the residents. My mum is well looked after, from personal care to getting her hair cut and styled regularly. I've recommend the home to my neighbour. His sister is now a resident.
Despite this most terrible of times (during Covid) for both staff and residents of Cardonald Care Home, my experience has always been that the nurses, care assistants, kitchen and cleaning and other support workers have always tried to do their best for my mum, management has been responsive to any concerns raised. The care staff have been caring and attentive to my mum's needs and staff have also been supportive of visitors - with kind words at difficult times.
My wife has had the best care possible from the staff at Cardonald Care Home. The home is beautiful and I know my wife is getting the best possible care to make her comfortable.
I have nothing but good things to say about Cardonald Care Home. The staff are amazing and have cared for my mum like she is one of their own family.
Mum has been cared for beyond our expectations - with care and compassion, humour and dignity. We cannot praise the staff highly enough - particularly two members of staff. All the staff have treated Mum with the utmost care and compassion.
