View Full Details of Deanfield Care HomeOur friend entered the home in August 2024. We had several visits beforehand and had liked the atmosphere and ethos of the home. He settled in straight away due to the friendliness and support of the management and staff. He put on weight, looked so much better and was a lot happier with life. Such a successful outcome! He has continued to make great progress living in the home going on outings taking part in activities and forming friendships. This is all due to the dedication and hard work of staff and management.
We are very happy with services received and treatment of our beloved relative.
My husband has been a resident at Deanfield for just over a year. A warm welcome is always given when visiting and you are always treated with respect. All the staff are friendly and caring. I am kept up to date with any changes to my husband's condition and any change of treatment required. My views are taken into account and any issues I have are looked into. I am happy with the care my husband receives and he is always treated with dignity.
Overall very happy with everything and the staff.
We are very satisfied with the all-around care that my father is receiving at Deanfield Care Home.
My aunt unfortunately passed away in August 2024. She had been a resident of Deanfield since February 2017. In all that time she was treated with the utmost respect and care from all the staff and management. Deanfeld truly was her happy place. The staff deserve credit for the attention and care given to their residents.
Having just had a relatives meeting at the home I am really pleased with what has been outlined for the future of the unit as a whole. They have over the last six months put things in place which are now showing a great benefit to the residents. I am aware that funding is a problem throughout the care industry but with more discussion I'm sure we all can help our loved ones. I am really happy with the care and support my wife received, it is great to know that she is treated with dignity.
My mother came into the care home in February. The staff and management were very helpful, kind and attentive. There were some issues regarding other residents coming into my mother's room, this was due to other residents having Dementia so I was understanding of this. The staff tried different tactics and solutions to deter other residents from coming into my mother's room. When another room had become available she was moved to another more suitable room. This was much better and more reassuring. Overall I can't thank the staff enough for the care and kindness they have given my mother, family and friends.
My nana has been in here for over 10 years. It was a great care home back then. More recently there is staff shortages, miscommunication and also neglect happening. There isn't enough staff in this building to care for dementia patients. At one point this week there were 3 members of staff. Residents are being neglected in terms of personal hygiene as well. Many times I have had to report residents to staff and ask staff to change them as they have been walking about without pads being changed. Some staff are absolutely lovely and you can't fault them personally. They are completely overworked and put under stress in their workplace. There is certainly a lot of miscommunication as well and staff tell you one thing and then another staff member will say that's not correct and tell you different information.
I am thoroughly delighted with the level of care my aunt receives and has received over the last year. All the nursing staff who have cared for my aunt have been fantastic and always keep me up to date with any needs my aunt may have.
My mother had a lovely time during her stay at the care home. Our family could relax knowing that she was safe, well, and looked after. Staff knew her well and ensured that her needs were met and that she had the right kind of help at the right time. Our family was very much allowed to be involved in my mother's care and we were consulted on a regular basis with regards to her care and health. We were very grateful for this. My mother also received high-quality end-of-life care. Staff were caring considerate, understanding and fully considered my mother’s specific needs and wishes, as well as the family’s. My mother passed away peacefully in the home with me by her side.
The people at this home are very nice and helpful. They could do no more for us, they are the best and they help my brother and look after him very well. All the staff make you welcome.
I have watched this place go from 8/10 to 0. Communication is poor, and massive staff changes which aren’t good. Lots of staff have left since the changeover. Residents will certainly not understand a lot of the staff. If I could turn the clock back I would.
I am perfectly happy with the care and attention provided to my mum. The facilities are good and the staff are caring and attentive.
My husband moved into Deanfield Care Home shortly before Christmas 2021 which was quite an upsetting experience for me. The staff were very understanding and caring and they made the whole procedure effortless. My husband is well looked after and very well cared for. The staff have a thankless job to do but they all do it with care and compassion. I have found them all to be extremely friendly and caring and put the residents' needs first. It can't be easy having to attend to differing ailments among the residents and I applaud them for their skills and attentiveness.
I find the home to be in good hands. The staff are helpful to those there and also to those that visit. There is a garden to sit in and walk around. The activities that I was at were very good with singalongs and tea parties and others.
Some staff on the first floor don't listen. I'm fed up with asking the same thing over and over. Leaving my dad's expensive electric shaver out, as it should go in his locking safe for security as a previous shaver went missing and I had to claim the company for costs. He was stopped from smoking for four months without telling me, his legal guardian.
We moved my mum here to Deanfield Care Home after my mother-in-law passed away here in August 2019 (she had been here for about 5-months, and her care had been second to none). The home my mum was in was not meeting her needs, and they had terrible issues that the home was not dealing with. Staff here at Deanfield Care Home have been accommodating, caring and understanding of my mum's needs which are a bit different to most other residents. They take the time to ensure doctors, hospital, optical and dental checks are done and that I am aware of the results. Facilities staff have been really great in accommodating mums room decorating for us, and the kitchen team have been so kind with birthday cakes over the years. Any time I go to visit, staff are friendly and cheery (which, in itself, is fantastic considering what they have gone through during the pandemic and lockdown). I highly recommend this home.
My mum moved to Deanfield Care Home in December 2021. My mum settled quickly, all the staff are friendly, kind and very helpful, and I have no doubts that my mum is very well cared for. My mum's room is facing on to the garden and is nice and bright.
Not impressed with this care home. Most staff are exceptionally nice, with the exception of the main nurse who answers the phone in the ground floor unit. She is extremely confrontational. Been trying for weeks to get my dad moved as we’re not impressed with the overall care offered. Patients roam the corridors and enter each other’s rooms. My dad has basic needs which are not being met, as the staff is dealing with patients with greater needs. Understandable but not acceptable, we’re paying a lot of money for this service. Rooms are basic and there is a constant smell from the toilet. Started cleaning it each time we visit. He needs two negative PCR tests to move him, which seem to be going astray. They admitted one test had been submitted incorrectly, however, the main nurse is too busy to confirm the bar code of the latest test, so we can’t chase it. Been told we just have to wait. Makes you wonder how the main nurse treats residents when she is so nasty to relatives.
