View Full Details of Greenfield Park Care HomeMy dad was a resident at Greenfield Park Care Home Oakly Unit for 2 and a half years during which time he was well looked after by all the staff. He has good communication with carers, cleaners, kitchen staff. Even though he had vascular dementia, he enjoyed some activities when they took him to George Square at Christmas and a trip to Falkirk wheel. I couldn't fault the staff at all especially the nurse who my dad used to have a lot of banter with over his wallet. Unfortunately my dad passed away on 2nd February 2025 although I have been back in to clear his room not once have I heard from any management.
My father in law has been a resident here for 2 1/2 years. He felt safe and was very happy and well cared for. He had a great relationship with the care staff. We would love to thank the care staff, cleaners that looked after his wee house that he called his room, the chef and laundry staff. He passed away in his wee house on the 2nd February. Thank you all for all that the staff on duty that day for being there for him and his family that sad day. However the management should be totally ashamed of themselves, not one of them contacted his daughter or his son to offer their condolences for the loss of their father, not a phone call or even a card. They represent the home and the company so maybe it's just for the money that the residents pay and once they are gone then that's the end.
Excellent care and service. Family atmosphere.
Every Friday is concert day. Very good entertainers. In general good all year round. The staff are very helpful. Management and the carers.
Gran is so happy at Greenfield Park, as a family it wasn't easy putting Gran into care but we know we have made the right choice, my gran loves it when the entertainment is on. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my gran.
From my mum's first day, the core staff and management have always helped Mum through her many ups and downs on her dementia journey. With their kindness, patience and caring for Mum she is now staying in 'her forever cottage'. I would recommend Greenfield Park Care Home where the residents feel safe in a caring environment.
My mum was well cared for by the staff, 2 of the ladies were very good with her, but all the staff were good. My mum enjoyed her time in the care home. The staff at reception were very helpful with any questions we had. Having a hairdresser coming to the home was great. Thanks once again to all the staff.
The workers within the care home are so welcoming, kind and caring. I feel they take great care of all their residents well and truly. They are so generous to all visitors. The care home is a great place for all to be.
My mother was a resident from 2017 till her death in Oct 2024. She suffered from dementia. I live in Australia and therefore could only make occasional visits but when I did visit I always found my mother to be in good spirits and excellent health despite her illness. The care home contacted me by either phone or email if there were any changes in my mother's condition. From my experience I would have no hesitation in recommending Greenfield Park to any prospective resident.
I have visited care homes before and have worked as a hairdresser in some including private homes and none of them come near to the care and friendliness of Greenfield Park. Cannot thank the staff enough. My friend has had a new life moving in here with staff who are dedicated to caring and affection. Top class for everything, not just a job these guys but a difference to a lot of lives. Thank you.
Over the last three years, there has been a definite decline in the home, partly due to staff turnover and Mum's condition. The staff are very good to my mum, I find them to be caring and honest. I feel there is room for improvement overall.
My mum seems to be settling in. There are so many good people there, the manager and deputy managers are great and deal with any issues promptly. The reception staff are lovely and have comforted me when I've been teary (great listeners) The nurses in charge are so good and go above and beyond for the residents and families. The domestics and laundry staff are so pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, there are a few carers who shouldn't be there but thankfully there are a lot more who are so caring and hardworking.
My mother-in-law has always been very well cared for by staff at Greenfield Park. There are a couple of things that could be looked into that would make her life happier. 1) there used to be a lovely activities coordinator who took my mother-in-law out to the Forge, Celtic Park and included her in other outings. Since the activities coordinator retired my mother-in-law hasn't been taken out. It would make her happy to be able to have outings. 2) We live 200 miles away and phone every evening. Sometimes she cannot hear us so we asked if her hearing aid batteries could be checked every couple of days. This may not be happening as there are times when she can't hear us. When we visited a couple of weeks ago we discovered that the batteries had died and we changed them ourselves. It would be good if a note to check the batteries could be put in the diary to make sure she can hear at all times. The large pothole at the start of the driveway needs to be sorted.
My mother has always been very well cared for by staff at Greenfield Park. They are so patient with her and she can be difficult. My only issue is the deep, large pothole at the start of the driveway. The vehicle is nearly dragging on the ground. If it gets any worse, you will have money claims from visitors. Need more activities, management needs to address.
In relation to identifying changes in general health the staff have been very good. The laundry service has room for improvement and clothing not returned even when named!
Manager very helpful. Food, clanliness. I enjoy going on outings.
Over the past 12 months, there has been a new manager and an assistant manager. I have seen a big improvement in the care home. In my mum's unit, there has been a big turnover with staff getting moved around, and as new staff and a new nurse in charge, this has made a massive improvement - always helpful. Management has introduced residents' and relatives' meetings, which I attend and find these meetings very helpful. We can talk openly, or if you want to speak in private - management's door is always open. He/she always gets back to you if there have been any problems. Management 9/10. Excellent.
My mum passed away in Roselea on November 20th. The staff were great, especially in her final few weeks. I would just like to thank them, even the cleaning staff were so kind, always popping in to see my mum. She was only in since beginning of February, so not very long. Thank you all for the care and dedication to my mum.
Really enjoyed seeing Mum enjoying the activities, especially the art class. My mum was never into art before her dementia really started, but when she was in the art group she really came out of her shell. I can also remember a time when my mum and our family were out in the courtyard and there was a concert on and we all, with the staff, enjoyed our day.
The Greenfield Park Care Home became my mum's home in March 2021. The staff and the residents made her feel at home and accepted her with open arms. One day there was a singer and everyone was outside listening, the lady singer involved the residents in singing and dancing and my mum really enjoyed that day. We would like to thank all staff so much, when my mum ended her journey on the 3rd of January 2023, the staff were amazing and made my mum happy when she was there.
