View Full Details of Haydale Care HomeMy sister moved into Haydale in April 2024 and the staff have been very supportive with her needs. She is well fed and her personal care needs are met on a daily basis. There are plenty of activities to keep her amused in the home and the nurses always make sure that she receives the appropriate medication. She is very happy and settled in Haydale.
Sister-in-law moved into care home this year and due to the caring staff she settled in well and nothing was a bother to them. They supported her with any tasks and very quickly she trusted them with her personal care. They were quick to notice any issues and deal with them. Staff make her feel safe and secure and welcome all her visitors. They include and interact with her in all activities.
Fall due to a carer hitting a bump in the shower room where Mum was tipped onto the floor causing injuries and had to go to A&E. Falls due to being in a pitch dark bedroom with no light on during the night. Just found out recently. Minimum £100 each time the carer escorts Mum to the hospital. Complaints are not always taken on board. On the advice of GP to phone an ambulance, until I phoned GP, a delay in phoning an ambulance of a couple of hours. Whatever you want to take from this.
Fantastic home. My brother loves it here. Staff are friendly and always helpful.
I can't highlight how Haydale is such a great home. The staff are so nice and treat the residents like they are part of their family. The activities they run and organize are amazing. They have a social media page where all events upcoming are posted and also update when the events happen. I'm so glad my relative is a resident as she is so happy and settled.
My daughter's room got flooded in the middle of the night through no fault of her own and because they apparently didn’t have another room for her I’ve had to bring her home to my house with nothing in place. No hoist or hospital bed. She is only 31 with Rett syndrome, she has no speech and doesn’t walk so her needs are quite complex. She is now stuck on the sofa until the morning because I can’t move her on my own. Absolutely shocking. The management doesn’t want to take responsibility for any of this. I honestly cannot fault the staff because they are brilliant and really are doing their best but so overworked as never enough staff. The place is falling to bits with wind howling through gaps in window frames and just overall scruffy looking. I have plenty of other complaints but they will be going to the appropriate people. Advise visit as often as you can and keep your eyes wide open. All down to poor management as staff was great and very sad because it could be once again a great wee home.
Generally very pleased with Mum's care, the staff in the main are lovely, her room is too. However have noted recently, particularly at weekends, far fewer staff on duty and overall cleanliness of room, communal corridors, etc. has slipped a little.
My cousin spent the last three years of his life in Sunnyside, the learning disability unit in Haydale Care Home. He was very happy and settled there and received a very high standard of loving care from a great team. He enjoyed various activities provided by the activities coordinator when he was able. The staff provided personalised care tailored to his needs. The unit manager and her team worked to a high standard. If a problem arose they were always prompt in phoning me to discuss the action plan. I had peace of mind and felt very reassured that my cousin was receiving the best possible care. I cant praise the staff enough for the excellent end of life care they provided for my cousin. Also for their compassion and support to the family.
I believe my sister is looked after to a high standard. The staff are on the ball with her care spotting issues quickly and taking the appropriate action. The staff also keep in touch when an issue arises. Motivation and activities are good for motivation.
My mum has been in the home now for over three years, she enjoys the home and the staff are very friendly.
On every occasion, the home has been clean and tidy. The events team are fantastic always having baking days and fundraising. I am kept up to date about all my mum's care. All staff are pleasant and helpful.
Although my daughter's stay was initially for a short period of time, she has been well looked after and catered for. Nurses and caring staff have been very professional and helpful throughout.
My sister is a resident at Haydale Care Home and I cannot praise the staff and the care she receives enough. They know her as an individual, tailoring her care and activities to her preferences and needs. Staff seem to have a real love for, and sound knowledge of, caring for people with learning disabilities. The care she receives is excellent and the communication with me as her guardian is always timely and clear.
My aunty stays in Haydale and has done for the past 13 year’s, I personally think this is a great home the staff do their best and always are willing to listen and resolve any queries that I may have had. My aunty likes staying here and that brings me comfort knowing she is looked after properly, the staff are all approachable this goes from the staff on the floor to the manager and office staff they are all great. Throughout the last year with Covid the staff were amazing keeping me informed of what was going on and keeping communication with my aunty ongoing as visiting had been stopped, they are all stars it’s a great home.
My mum was very upset and unsettled when she first went to Haydale, as I live in East Kilbride and my mum was originally only in for respite I intended moving her nearer to me when she was ready for full-time care. I reconsidered as I was happy with how she was settling in so well and that was all down to how the staff helped her to settle. Her care needs were always met and staff showed kindness and respect to my mum and her family.
My mother is very well looked after in Haydale. Her needs are addressed very well by the staff, particularly those that have worked there for a while are wonderful! The new manager seems very efficient and the administrator is very approachable and helpful. While I am happy with my mother being cared for in Haydale, the home itself could do with being decorated.
I generally have no issue at Haydale with the exception of my mum's room which constantly stinks of urine. I have brought this up several times, however, has not been totally rectified. There is a blue/grey coloured chain in my mum's room which is very smelly. I also feel her wheelchair is very smelly. My mum should be on a two-hour pad change!
Haydale Care Home has done exceptionally well since my dad has been admitted they have done more in the 2/3 days that the care firm did in 20 months.
Overall I am satisfied with the care provided although I do think the cleanliness sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. Having experience of care homes over the last 20 years, I understand that odours can linger but the smell in the uint is always strong. Could staff have air fresheners to spray in the corridors as I have seen this done before? I had one issue with regards to my brother and the staff dealt with it promptly. They kept me informed every step of the way until it was resolved to my satisfaction.
I am very happy with the care and support my sister has received. She is very well looked after and the staff are very well looked after and the staff are very helpful and are always available to talk to us when we visit and ask about her well-being.
