View Full Details of Lillyburn Care HomeA lively atmosphere in the home. No smells for example urine, food etc. Which in other homes I visited was very noticeable. Caring staff.
Thank you to all the staff for the care and support given to my mum since her arrival. You are all truly amazing and appreciated greatly, my list would be endless if I had to thank you all individually. But know your efforts are very visible to all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I am happy with the quality of care and the efforts of the activities’ coordinators and the professional staff. My mother is well looked after and properly cared for. Her room is clean, and her clothes are regularly laundered. Mum is safe, happy and content. I can’t ask for more.
My dad has been a resident of Lillyburn for three and a half years. The staff are all caring and responsive to his and his visitor's needs, he is comfortable, happy and well nourished, he's never had any complaints and always seems quite happy and content when we visit, a big factor in enabling him to enjoy his 100-year-plus lifestyle.
We chose Lillyburn because it is open plan because my mum likes to see what's going on - and there is plenty going on! Our hopes for the layout were totally justified. However, what has made Lillyburn special is the superb care and attention that she receives. All the staff team know her and, regardless of what they are doing, always stop to speak to her. The team caters for particular interests, and the activities are stimulating and interesting. Any excuse for a celebration is taken: Christmas, birthdays, Burns Night... Her room and the unit are spotlessly clean and hygienic. The food is of excellent quality and variety, and the nursing care is superb. What really impresses me is that each resident is treated as an individual with freedom of choice in what they want to do (or not do). We are normally able to visit regularly, but when that hasn't been possible, we are encouraged to contact the unit, and we are always informed immediately about any issues affecting my mum's health or care.
The care home provides the residents with a high-quality of care delivered with dignity, respect and compassion at all times. Family/friends are made welcome and are kept well informed of their loved one’s health, welfare and all aspects of their situation within the home.
All the staff at Lillyburn are fantastic. They are so patient and caring. The activities coordinators do a brilliant job, and there’s always something going on. The staff do their best to get residents involved in the activities and support individuals to be as independent as possible. This has really helped my gran, and she has regained some skills and mobility she had lost when she was isolated at home.
I was at a karaoke day and what a lovely time everybody had. Was so nice to see all enjoying and singing their hearts out. What a great experience even for me. Thoroughly enjoyable and very well presented. Give us more please as everyone was beaming with joy.
Mum is really settled and happy, it is so lovely to see. The manager, deputy manager and all the staff are considerate, professional, caring and listen to us. They consider Mum’s needs in a holistic, person-centred way and look after all her needs well. The staff have been really skilled in getting to know Mum in order for her to be settled and happy. They have been really considerate of us as a family. Can’t thank the staff enough. Excellent service and a comfortable, welcoming home environment.
The December news letter and photographs were a great joy to read and see. The residents looked really happy and you could see lots of really nice interactions with the staff team. Well done to the staff for the fun and care they provide. The newsletter is important to me as I love seeing my aunt enjoying herself, I eagerly look for her photo. Keep up the excellent work and commitment shown. Kind Regards
The care provided for my mother by all the staff at Lillyburn is exemplary in every way. The family are genuinely grateful for all that the staff do for her. In particular: - the outstanding level of communication in general and the regular telephone updates we receive. - the immediate response to any medical issue. - the way the staff are constantly alert to any change in her well-being. - the cleanliness. It really is a stand-out feature of the home. - the activity programme: she always says she cannot be bothered taking part but always ends up admitting that she has a good time doing so. - the efforts that are made for her to observe the streamed Holy Mass each Sunday on TV. Additionally, we all feel that the staff have become more like friends as well as being very caring professionals. We are very happy that she is safe and continues to enjoy being a resident in Lillyburn.
We are very happy with how my mother-in-law is looked after at Lillyburn since she went to live there in June this year. Her room and the common areas are always lovely and clean and the staff are very good with her. The residents get fed well and there are activities on most days as well as little trips out to places.
My mum has only been at Lillyburn for a few months and we have found the staff to be very caring. Lillyburn staff have been excellent at keeping us up to date on how Mum is coping in her new environment. Mum is enjoying the meals and especially likes being in the hairdressers. We have found management to be very approachable and helpful. Glad visiting is now allowed and will welcome as COVID restrictions ease that more opportunities ie: to go for outings or others being allowed to visit indoor as an option.
Mum is settling in well and is safe and being well looked after. The staff are very good at keeping me informed at all times.
I have found the care home to be suitable for the care of my resident and am happy for him to continue living here.
From the start of Covid-19, Lillyburn has been professional and caring at all times. She has been happy and contented with the care and friendships she has experienced. Lillyburn staff keep in weekly contact, and staff and management are accessible. Could not recommend the care enough.
My mother has now been resident in Lillyburn for over 2 years and I cannot thank all the staff enough for the care my mother has received during that time. She has been very well looked after and has always been treated with respect and consideration. Thank you all.
Rooms, lounge and garden are lovely. Staff are great, as is the care provided. Nothing is a bother to them. I get a call every week giving me an update of how my mum is doing.
My gran has been well looked after since arriving at Lillyburn and we are delighted with her care. She is eating and sleeping more and I feel that she is respected and liked by the staff. She seems more relaxed and care is catered for her individual needs.
Skye Unit A well known professor introduced the concept of, 'personhood'. He observed in people with dementia, that it was not just an illness, it was strangely influenced but how people were treated by people and society - Lilyburn Care Home demonstrates this concept beautifully. Dementia can also be described as, 'family disease'. Not only does it destroy the person's independence, it causes unquantifiable distress to the carers. Lillyburn has exceeded all my expectations and diminished all my fears of my mum's life in a care home. For many years I fretted about when the time would come that she was no longer safe to live in her own home. If I had known then, how happy, content, comfortable and cared for she would be, I would have saved myself many tears. I am a nurse and I love my mum dearly. My wish would have been to cared for her myself but family life does not permit this and her needs are greater than I can provide, 24 hours per day. Lillyburn provides the next best thing.
