View Full Details of Castle View Care HomeI have been in Castle View Care Home for 4 years. I have developed a good relationship with the staff and feel that they know me very well. I am well cared for.
My sister has lived at Castle View Care Home since August 2022 and we couldn't be happier with her care. She has learning difficulties as well as physical disabilities and the staff are excellent with her chatting to her and showing her love, dignity, and respect. The activities coordinators organise daily events and activities which my sister loves, keep her engaged, and help her mentally and physically. However, she especially loves Alfie the home's resident black labrador. We had dogs growing up so having Alife helped her settle in and feel at home. The staff and mgt team obviously recognise the well-documented benefits that having a dog has in helping reduce stress and anxiety and improve well-being and they should be recognised for their progressive approach to improving their resident's care home experience. Although not a trained therapy dog, Alfie is perfect for the job. He is well-mannered, calm, and friendly and a visit from Alfie is the highlight of my sister's day! I hope other care homes can learn from Castle View, consider following their lead, and recognise the benefits of having a care home dog like Alfie.
Very pleased with all the care my wife is receiving and all the information the staff has given me.
The staff at Castleview truly care about each individual resident, they took time to understand my father and did their best to make his last two years as happy and comfortable as they could be. Compassion, respect laughter, and fun were always there. Through a difficult time as a family, the staff at Castleview supported us, as a family, especially my mother, ensuring we were kept well informed about my father's care, we were listened to and we felt reassured he was safe and well cared for. Walking into the home on my regular visits to my father I was welcomed warmly and there was always a member of staff available if needed - the home presents a bright, busy happy environment, organized and centred around making each resident feel comfortable and at “home”. The staff is what makes this home, they are a great team.
The care, understanding, and compassion shown by the wonderful staff at Castle View to my Father (resident) and us, his family, was life-affirming. It gave us strength, confidence, and peace of mind to face a difficult time. Professional care attention to detail and individual residents’ needs are all delivered with love and kindness. A truly caring home - thank you.
My brother was in Castle View Care Home for just over a year. I could not praise the staff highly enough for the quality of care and attention that he received during his stay whether that be for his basic or more complex needs. My brother also attended a number of the activities within the care home, which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy. Although all staff (the full range from domestic to nursing, plus the handyman) were very good, the family felt that a number of staff were excellent and went beyond their call of duty. Staff were very approachable, they also kept good communication with my brother's named contact. The care home responded promptly and positively to any changes in my brother's care needs, while the care home manageress was also approachable and liaised with visitors. I have written this, having taken the views of family members who visited my brother regularly in the care home.
My dad has been a resident for almost a year now and it’s been a good place for him. The staff have been lovely and welcoming, as well as really helpful. The standard of care has been really good. Over the past year we have seen improvements in the home, which is great! The staff are happy to talk with family and ensure that any issues are quickly dealt with. Both my dad and the family feel heard and supported.
My view of my brother's time at this home has been very positive. The staff are very helpful in every way and any thing that I have asked for has always been provided.
I have Power of Attorney for my Mum. I had looked after Mum for five years prior to her coming to Castle View. I am very protective of Mum and surrendering her into care was very difficult for me. Fortunately, I have been very pleased with all the staff who look after Mum. They are friendly, professional and caring. They keep me updated and also are very friendly to me as I am in most days. Honestly, they are a great team at Castle View.
My brother was moved here after his previous care home decided they could not care for him. The staff here have been exceptional at all times. Really welcoming on his arrival day and made the move-in really easy which helped both my brother and us. My brother can at times be challenging to deal with but the staff work out his "triggers" and do everything to remove them so my brother doesn't get stressed. Really pleased with the care shown to date.
The staff at Castle View Care Home are first-class. They care about their residents and treat them with compassion and dignity. The food lacks variety, especially in the fresh vegetable category. A few greens instead of baked beans would be appreciated. I can't really comment on the activities as my husband does not want to participate. But I do know that there are a lot of planned outings etc. for those who do wish to take part.
The kindness of Castle View Care Home staff is matched by the professional competence of their care. I am grateful also for the informative and kind support offered to me when visiting my mother from overseas as well as keeping me up to date by phone and email as well when I am away. It is a relief that my mum feels so comfortable and at home during the very stressful time of adjusting to her move to a care facility. It was great to hear about and to see my mum's participation in activities, as well as the valuable social contact with staff and other residents, empathetically supervised to ensure safety, while communicating respect and supporting dignity. She is clearly enjoying the tasty and nutritious meals as well. It was a pleasure to see all of this. I am especially impressed by the staff achieving such high standards of care while having to contend with all the extra challenges that Covid has brought us all. You have my heartfelt thanks.
Very sadly my dad passed away today after an eight-month stay at Castle View Care Home. Throughout his stay, the staff have been absolutely amazing. And over the last few days and especially today, the compassion, professionalism and empathy were outstanding and we cannot thank them enough.
Excellent service from the staff at Castle View Care Home. I am continually kept up to date on all matters relating to my dad by the nursing staff and receive both a responsive and flexible service from the visits team - who go above and beyond to accommodate desired visit times. My only request is that visits be made available on Mondays and Fridays. I do appreciate there are set routines within the home that are undertaken on these days, however, as a visitor, it would give me additional flexibility.
My brother has settled well here. Staff all lovely and very caring, not just a job it is their second family. The food looks all delicious with lovely home bakes, can't wait until we allowed to sample some.
Care home staff are very friendly and helpful both with patients and visitors.
Any time I visit, the staff are very friendly and efficient. My dad is happy with his care anytime I ask him.
My relative seems happy and content which makes us happy. He has moved rooms which has made a huge difference to his mental health.
My husband seems to be very settled in his surroundings and has been very calm which is a relief to me. If I raise concern i.e. I thought my husband's foot was swollen, the doctor was out the next morning and I got a phone call to tell me what was going on.
A very safe and caring environment, my mother is very happy here and the staff are excellent.
