View Full Details of Hill View Care HomeMy sister went into Hill View Care Home in March, 2024. She has early symptoms of Alzeimer's. She has been made to feel safe and valued. Staff take time to interact with her and enjoy her sense of humour. They recognise her cognitive abilities are still good most of the time and make sure she is treated accordingly.
My dad entered Hillview in September of this year. Firstly we were surprised how well and how quickly he settled. That was entirely down to the staff who made him feel welcome from the get-go. The staff are hugely friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They really care and take such good care of my dad, it has taken the worry and weight off our shoulders. I can truly say that he is happy there. The home is very clean (I'm paranoid about that), the food is good, his room is the right size and the staff really engage with him constantly. In my experience, places like this are really made by the staff and I am so pleased to say that we have a great group - they keep me informed and up-to-date with everything concerning my dad. They go out of their way to have entertainment, singers, Elvis nights, and experiences and make holidays like Halloween something that everyone can enjoy. For me and my family, they have been brilliant and I cannot tell you what a relief that is for us.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the team at Hillview Care Home; management, office, background and frontline staff, especially all those working in Inanda House. My mum has been a resident here for over 2 years, suffers from a multitude of debilitating illnesses, life is not easy for her at the best of times, nor are many of her symptoms simple to manage. The staff here are very, very good; dedicated, diligent, hardworking, and more often than not, go that extra mile in making residents here, as comfortable as they possibly can and more than exceeding their needs. Staff also have a very caring nature, even when working under a great deal of pressure which sometimes happens, they are calm, professional and always put the residents welfare and happiness first. Really can't express my thanks enough and my mum appreciates all that you do.
I would like to pass on my grateful thanks to all the staff of Hill View, Tower House Unit where my late wife was for the last 10 of her life. She was in Room 9 in Tower House Unit and was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and I cannot fault the care and attention that she received in her last days. The staff also looked after my welfare. The staff do a difficult job and they have to be commended for the dedication and work that they do. Again you have my heartfelt thanks for the care and attention that they gave to my late wife, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Most of the staff do go the extra mile. Staff levels could be higher.
Dad went into Hill View Care Home in September 2022 after many years of being lovingly cared for at home. The staff at Hill View have gone above and beyond to keep Dad comfortable and safe whilst tending to all his personal needs every day. They have made the transition so much easier than ever expected. You can see how friendly, caring and kind they are whenever you visit the unit. Food is in abundance, with tea, cake and a smile never far away. They are constantly making the facilities a pleasant place to live in for the residents and for visitors (often in their own time I may say!) which is a testament to the fabulous team that Hill View are lucky to have. I personally am beyond grateful that Dad is being cared for there and when his health took a turn for the worse earlier in the year they were so attentive, caring and professional throughout and I have no doubt that will continue under the team there. I would highly recommend Hill View.
My mum went into care in July, by September she was moved to a different unit. She lost everything. The other unit kept her massive TV, eventually getting it back in November but had to wear other people's clothes, the few things she had, as a carer said they had to go looking for some clothes as they thought my mum was poor. My mum pays for this service. Eventually, after I reported this they bought her PJs. She is nearly 95 yrs old yet they think this is not a problem sleeping in other people's clothes. The manager thinks that I didn't bring in my mum's coat yet my mum needs this for hospital appointments. Thank god they missed her skin cancer appointment as they lost her clothes. Mum couldn't go out even if they had remembered. Never thought I would say that. My mum worked 3 jobs and now has to pay for the care. It is a disgrace that they lost all her belongings and kept her TV until I asked for it back. My mum is just left because my sister and I live outside Scotland and can't visit regularly.
This is my first venture into a care home situation and I wasn't sure what to expect. I have been impressed by the care, attention and compassion shown to my Dad by all the staff. I am more than pleasantly surprised by the experience. The home is clean, tidy and vert welcoming. the food is fantastic and plentiful. There is always a real good atmosphere when you visit, nothing is a bother to the staff. The morning personal care is exceptional, my Dad is clean, shaved and looking smart every day.
Uladh House staff are amazing, kind and caring. Any issues are dealt with kindness and thoughtfulness you can tell by the smiles from residents when staff approach. They feel happy safe and secure. A hug and kind words work wonders what more can you ask for. Lots of tender loving care provided.
Uladh House - excellent staff, food and care. All the staff are helpful, friendly and professional. Great choice of food. my dad is always clean, shaved and content. We could not have wished for a better care home for our Dad.
My mum moved from being at home into Hill View Care Home in December. The staff were so kind and welcoming they made this transition so much easier. Mum settled well and was given professional, friendly and excellent care at Hill View, Dalmuir. Nothing was a problem Special thanks to the team for looking after mum so well, and to those who ensured all went smoothly. Thank you from all the family.
Having taken careful care in deciding which care home I would place my mum in I couldn't have been happier with my choice in Hill View Care Home. From my first visit, I knew I had made the right choice for my mum. Sadly my mum recently passed away but I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done over the last 10 months. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity and was basically loved by the staff. My mum was prone to infections when at home but never once had an infection in Hill View which is a huge credit to the care being provided. She was always immaculate when I visited and always looked happy and comfortable with all of the staff. I know she was well looked after in this vital last stage of her life. Having cared for my mum the previous year was a huge relief. I was always kept up to date with any change in my mum's health and in her last days, the interaction with the staff on a personal level will never leave me. They are angels, every one of them.
My Mum was in Inanda House within the Home from May 2020 until she passed away. I chose the home during Covid when I was unable to see the home or speak to the staff to get an idea of how well they would take care of my mother. It was awkward to see her on a regular basis because of the Governments Covid restrictions which I found very difficult. Latterly when she was ill they did not hesitate in calling doctors and allowing me to sit in with her. They kept checking up on her, seeing to her personal care and also looked after me too offering food and drink. I can honestly say that the staff were all lovely and caring, kissing my mum, talking to her and doing all the things a loving family member would do. While I don’t want to end up in a care home I would happily go to Hill View Care Home because I see that they care and you can’t ask for more than that.
As my mother's physical and mental condition (dementia) deteriorated, the decision was taken to place her in a care home. I selected at Hill View Care Home as this was based on recommendations from friends; it was a good choice. Unfortunately, my mother recently passed away after only being there for 6 months but during her time there at Inanda House she was extremely well looked after and was always clean and tidy each time I visited. The staff were warm and caring and showed great affection towards her. Latterly as she became very poorly, each of the staff ensured that her final days were restful, free of pain and enabled her to pass with the dignity and respect that a very special and much-loved Mother and Grandmother deserved. Thank you to all concerned.
My mum will be in Ravenswood 5 years next month and to be honest, she wouldn't be around today if she had been left at home a while after Dad died. I was shocked like many to have to look for a care home, just those 2 words filled me with dread. I found the best and because of the staff and their care. I know for a fact they keep her going. Nothing is too much for them. They go above and beyond for her and my mum can be very difficult and demanding. During last years covid lock down I was terrified for her as she is very frail, but I should've known better. Everyone took so much care during that horrific time, my mind was put at ease. I can never thank or repay the care. Also a health issue with my mum which affects her every so often is noticed in seconds by the change in her behavour and dealt with instantly. So many things I can't put in review, but for me to have peace of mind with all they do for her, even when her demands are over the top. Thank you, Hill View Care Home. Angels on earth.
My mother felt she needed 24:hour care as afraid of falling at home. She was in here for five nights but had a fall as alarm mat under bed, broke her hip, and didn’t make it through the operation. She was left without underwear. Breakfast served at 11am. On asking how Mum was settling in, I was told by the nurse she goes to the toilet a lot, obviously highlighting Mum was a hindrance to her. If she had been in here after the isolation period, I would have her removed immediately.
An excellent service which cares extremely well for my very frail relative who has advanced vascular dementia. Communication with the management team and care staff group is excellent and they demonstrate high levels of care and commitment to the people in their care.
I have just recently placed my dad in Hill View Clydebank. The staff looking after my dad have been very professional, kind and compassionate towards my dad. My family are so pleased with the care my dad has been given. I would also like to thank the manager and all her staff for the help and assistance given to the family in placing my dad into Hill View. The transition was made easier by the help and dedication from staff. Thank you.
My mum and dad moved in over 3 years ago! Sadly mum passed away in 2019 but dad still gets great care, attention, respect and empathy - he is so well looked after! The staff are all brilliant and dedicated, each and everyone deserves a medal! Could not recommend Hillview enough!
Very happy with the care. Staff are always willing to help, even on telephone calls. She seems content and this makes it easier to accept her condition. Visits are friendly - always a sense of humour. No complaints.
