View Full Details of Craig-en-GoyneA very friendly and clean care home surrounded by beautiful gardens in a lovely location. Staff are very helpful and never had an issue they haven't dealt with promptly. My mother is very happy there and has been well looked after over the last few years. Highly recommend.
My Mum suffers from mixed dementia and has done it for a number of years. It was important to keep her in her own home for as long as I possibly could but it became clear that this was no longer a feasible option and needed care. It was an incredibly difficult decision to make, made worse by the fact that I live over 450 miles away in London. Having researched various homes none of them had the welcoming and homely feel that Craig-en-Goyne has. From the minute you step through the door, there’s a warmness from all the staff which has helped give me the peace of mind that my Mum would be well cared for and looked upon as part of the Craig-en-Goyne family. Whilst it’s very early days as my Mum hasn’t been there long, the staff are doing everything they can to help her settle into her new home and also helping me with the adjustment by keeping in regular contact and assuring me to call whenever l want to find out how she’s getting on. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Craig-en-Goyne.
I am absolutely delighted with the care provided at Craig-en-Goyne Care Home. The staff are amazing, everyone, from the ancillary staff to the manager, provides person-centred care for my mum. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you can tell they genuinely care about the residents and it's not just a job to them. My mum has absolutely thrived since moving in. She enjoys the food and loves the many activities they have on offer, which are showcased on social media! This is a fabulous service as it keeps me up to date with what Mum has been doing. Mum is kept busy enjoying the activities and making new friends. All of the staff are approachable and friendly. The location is great, close to me and set within its own grounds. Mum loves watching the squirrels and birds. The house itself is a grand, old house yet warm, comforting and welcoming. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone. I think my mum is treated like royalty. Well done to everyone there!
After Mum had an extended hospital stay, we were fortunate to get a space for her at Craig-en-Goyne Care Home. Mum suffers from vascular dementia and we were apprehensive about her accepting change and being in a care home (having lived for fifteen years in sheltered housing). Our fears were unfounded as she has settled in really well in her lovely room. I cannot praise the management and staff highly enough as they have been so wonderful with Mum and the challenges of dementia. The home is spotlessly clean and the standard of care provided is first-class. The communication between the care home and myself has been excellent too and they have a wonderful Facebook page for relatives to see their loved ones enjoying the wide range of activities (keep fit, games, dancing, entertainment by singers etc.). They also circulate information and newsletters via email so we are aware of what is planned and what has been happening. A wonderful hairdressing salon is also enjoyed by many residents. Thank you!
Thank you to the manager and the wider team for the high standard of person-centred care that you ensure is delivered to my mum. The wider team, my thanks for the standard of cleanliness, lovely meals prepared and perfect laundry that hangs in the wardrobe each time I visit. It is evident from the feedback received from staff, not forgetting the family and carer Facebook page that someone always takes the time to update, that there is an interesting array of activities that happen daily but importantly tailored to ensure all residents are included. The staff are friendly, approachable and always willing to help assist in any way possible. As a healthcare professional, I understand the amount of hard work, dedication and commitment that goes into achieving the standards of care you provide are excellent. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a nursing home placement. You really are a great bunch thank you for all that you have done and continue to do.
Wasn’t entirely happy with the overall care my Grandma received over the year she was resident but most of the care staff all seemed very nice and as long as my Gran seemed happy we put up with it but then in March she developed Covid, had a fall, ended up on bed rest and developed severe bed sores. She rapidly went downhill and died. No one from the Home attended the funeral despite it being policy. Death of a Service User in Care Homes (Scotland) Policy. Policy Statement This policy sets out the values, principles, and practices underpinning the care home’s approach to the death of any of its service users. Procedures (not during a pandemic). “The care home arranges for staff and other service users to attend the funeral if they wish. It always sends at least one representative to attend a funeral as well as sending a condolence card or letter to the relatives.”
I have no bad comment to say. The home is run excellently. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Everything they do, from the bottom to the top management, the care they show for the residents is excellent. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a home for their loved ones.
This is a care home with a real sense of community - which includes residents and staff. There is a positive, friendly vibe throughout the building, created by enthusiastic and caring staff. The result is a home from home which is exactly what residents yearn for - it's here at 'Craig-en-Goyne'!
After a length of time in another care home where the service was inadequate, I moved my aunt to Craig-en-Goyne Care Home. I have found the care, communication, activities and relationships to be excellent, the staff just can't do enough. Her room is homely and personalised and she always appears happy and speaks fondly of the staff. I am more than satisfied her care is of quality.
Dad has had wonderful care since he arrived in Craig-en-Goyne last February, in what has been dreadful circumstances due to Covid. He is content and has benefitted from the stimulation that we could not provide at home. There are many photos of him having fun. We haven't had a single problem.
Coming to the realisation that we, as a family had no other option other than to look for long term care for our dear mum was the most difficult decision that we had to make. After loads of research, l decided on Craig-en-Goyne - the decision was the right one! We had a horrendous day when my mum was due to go into the home, l called and spoke with the nurse in charge that day who was great with me, offered to speak with my mum to reassure her, which she did and really calmed her down. Right from her 1st day in the home, I've had 100% confidence that she is always well looked after. As a family, we have found it very difficult to try and adjust to the huge change in our lives, but the staff at the home has helped with this adjustment, assuring me to call whenever l wanted to when l was trying to come to terms with this huge change, especially under covid restrictions. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Craig-en-Goyne.
My mum has dementia and has been in residential care for about 3 years. She wasn’t in Craig-en-Goyne to start with but felt it was necessary to move her due to some issues, this was the best move we could have made. The building itself is an old country house which has been converted and extended giving it a very homely feel. The staff are fantastically caring people who go the extra mile to keep the residents occupied and as active as possible. My mum's key worker has been outstanding and has really taken her duties well and truly beyond her remit, she has even taken calls from me even when she has been off duty. This example of commitment has let me see that the care package at Craig-en-Goyne doesn’t end with the resident. Very many thanks to all the staff that have and continue to be involved in my mum's care from cleaners to carers to management and all in between. You are all immense.
My mum just recently moved into Craig-en-Goyne but my 2 aunts previously had been in this home. Both received excellent care including palliative care till they both died there. Everyone is so helpful and friendly, this also helped with my transition this time knowing a friendly face and knowing what to expect. Obviously different carers have different personalities and sometimes reflects on care but no real issues.
Our mother came to this home in July 2017 and can say we have been delighted with her care. We visit Mum twice daily and we are very familiar with all the staff. Staff always pay attention to detail making sure her hair is done and her jewellery on - two important things that mum liked. Family members are always made to feel very welcome when we visit.
