View Full Details of Kirknowe Care HomeMy mum Helen was a resident in Hazelbank till she sadly passed away in January. I could not have wished for a better team to have looked after her while she was there. The care she received was fantastic the staff became her second family and myself and the family will always be grateful to them for the care they gave my mum.
My mum resided at Kirknowe for approximately 18 months and during that time, the care received was exceptional. The staff were caring and attentive to Mum, providing the family with peace of mind. The home had lots of activities and entertainment, with the residents clearly enjoying these. I cannot thank the staff enough for their support and compassion to my mum and our family during my mum's stay, especially during the last few weeks of her life.
Words cannot express what the staff at Kirknowe have done for my wee dad. My dad had been left to lie in bed for 5 months by the NHS but the staff at Kirknowe have had him sitting up and helping him to walk again. The staff are excellent and they are superheroes without capes. I cannot thank them enough for their support and time they have spent with my dad.
Mum's new home from February 2024 to her sad passing in May 2024 and she absolutely loved it. All the staff in Kirknowe were amazing, they were wonderful with Mum and treated her with nothing but kindness and respect. It was kept spotlessly clean and Mum said the food was fabulous.
Dad was a resident in Kirknowe Care Home from September 2022 until his passing in August 2023. During that time the care he received was exceptional. Not only was he looked after but they also looked after us as a family. I would highly recommend them to anyone and still do.
My experience of Kirknowe since May 2022 has been excellent! Staff, cleanliness, food, outdoor space too is a bonus. I can feel assured my mother is well looked after and cared for.
The care given to the resident was extremely good and the staff in Kirkfield House were exemplary and we could not thank them enough for the care they gave him while he was a resident there. We would highly recommend the care home to anyone considering using the home.
In the short time my dad lived at Kirknowe Care Home, Kirkfieldbank House, we have as a family been very happy with the care given. All the staff, whatever their role, showed him compassionate personal care. They worked tirelessly and tried to suit his needs as much as they could from changing mattresses to his dietary needs. The home itself is a very welcoming place and the grounds are well looked after. The way he was looked after lifted a great weight off our shoulders. So thank you all.
Every time I visit my dad I am welcomed in and the staff cannot do enough for me or my dad. I discussed this review with my dad and he rated the options below. The staff treat my dad with dignity and respect and do not rush him even though his mobility is bad. The staff are also very friendly. They also engage the residents in singing and dancing so there is always a happy atmosphere.
The overall facility is excellent, from the staff in the office to all staff within the Kirkfield Unit. The decor, rooms and activities provided exceeded the expectations when my mother arrived. Her personal care has improved 100%, and her health also. I can say I cannot fault the care home in any way.
My Mum had been in the Hazelbank unit of Kirknowe for 6 years. I cannot express my gratitude for all the staff that has cared for her over the years. Hazelbank was her home and the staff were her family. I will be forever grateful for the love and care they gave to her. The dignity they gave to her, especially in her final days. I will miss them all and I would not hesitate in recommending this care home. And if my Mum was still here she would say exactly the same.
My mum, resided here for just over a year, the staff are caring, kind and just amazing in the Kirkfield Bank bungalow, always willing to go that extra mile for anyone. Our family cannot praise or thank them enough for all they did for Mum. From keeping her days active to giving her the ability to walk again, and use the toilet again, all things that the hospital had taken from her along with her dignity. Please let the staff from management to cleaners know how much we appreciated them. A carer is a very understated and underpaid role for these angels who deserve so much more. Especially one lady, my mum's football buddy, or night shift who brought their dogs in on days off to see her. We appreciate each and every one of you, thank you all so much. We will never forget the peace of mind you all gave her family.
My dad moved into Kirknowe Care Home in October last year and we were very apprehensive as a family about how he well he would settle. We needn't have worried as the staff have been nothing short of wonderful and managed to connect with my dad straight away. He is safe and happy, even when he is having a grumpy day the staff are brilliant with him. They are kind, compassionate and they all have a great sense of humour, which goes a long way in making my dad feel at home. We really are so grateful as a family for the care shown to my Dad from everyone at Kirknowe and we wouldn't be without them.
My mum has been a resident in the Kirknowe Care Home since December 2020 when she was admitted at the height of Covid restrictions. She was very confused especially as she had to isolate and then wasn't allowed visitors. Thanks to the dedication and professionalism of the staff she eventually integrated into the unit, and latterly, looked on it as home. Over her two years residency, any issues I raised were dealt with speedily. Sadly, Mum passed away on the 5th of January after going downhill quickly. The care she received in her final days was superb and allowed her to pass away with dignity and without hospitalisation. My family cannot speak highly enough of all the staff - not just the care staff although they were special - we are indebted to them.
The care my father received was of the very highest standard and during his residency, he was treated with dignity and respect throughout.
The standard of care has been exceptionally good. The staff are diligent, hardworking, compassionate and mindful of all Dad's needs. The staff have also gone beyond the call of duty in terms of supporting the family at this difficult time. Thank you so much.
Mum moved into the care home earlier this year. In short, the wonderful staff have given her, her life back. She is the happiest she has been for many years. she is treated with respect and dignity. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The care she receives is second to none both physically and mentally. The activities on offer are fantastic and mum really enjoys them. I myself find the staff approachable and informative.
My dad is a resident and the staff arranged a lovely day for him and my mum for their diamond wedding. They went above and beyond arranging flowers for my mum. A cake, their favourite song and decorated the visiting room. The staff are amazing, helpful and make the family feel part of home family. An amazing, amazing nursing home which has brought my dad from a wheelchair to walking when he entered to now walking about all day. He is always clean, tidy and very well looked after.
I would like to thank the staff of Rosebank unit for the care and compassion they show to my mum. My mum has been in this unit for five years now and the staff have been great. Due to the current coronavirus situation and no visiting policy, on Mother’s Day, the girls were telephoning the families to let us see our mums. It was a very nice gesture, then last week my dad got a photo of mum sent to him. Considering the current situation and the pressure the staff must be under, each and every one of them have gone above their call of duty. So thanks for all the care and support you all have shown to my mum and to us as a family.
The home provides a very high level of personal care to its residents. All of the staff are courteous to both visitors and residents and deal with matters in a kind and friendly manner. My mother has settled into her new home much more quickly than I anticipated and I believe this has a lot to do with the way all of the staff care for her. Facilities are good and the home provides a level of interaction which is relevant to residents needs but is never forced upon them. The food standards are good with care taken to ensure the dignity of residents and their likes and dislikes taken into account. Overall we are very happy with the choice of home we made but more importantly, my mother is content and looking better than she has for some time.
