View Full Details of Netherton Court Care HomeMy mum, who has dementia, has resided at the care home for almost 9 and a half years. Over that extensive period, she has been extremely happy, comfortable and at ease in her surroundings. I have nothing but praise and respect for all staff, past and present, who have ensured my mum has been well cared for and safe. They are very friendly and approachable. Her room is very comfortable and clean. There is a spacious lounge where residents can relax and participate in activities. The food is freshly prepared and nutritious. The Manager and Deputy Manager employ an open door approach which allows relatives to raise any issues with them. There is a Relatives' Forum which meets 4 times a year allowing relatives to meet with the Manager and Deputy Manager to discuss matters, such as staffing, service developments and Care Inspectorate Reports, and also allows relatives, as a group, to raise issues of mutual interest, or concern, and to suggest areas for service improvement.
Find staff so helpful and pleasant and nothing is a problem and they also great with residents and make plenty activates available so they can stimulate their brains. Feel the staff sometimes are under extreme pressure due to shortage but still complete there work with a smile.
My husband was a resident a year past in March. The home was clean and tidy and very modern although the rooms could do with a bit of updating. My only disappointment was that one of the staff came round to see me and my husband to fill in a form about what he liked to do - as in activities which wasn't very much but when I asked him did one of the staff come to see him he said no which I am very angry about. The other was they never took him to the toilet or showered him. At times he was still in a dirty t-shirt. All I can say is I hope and pray that I never get admitted to a care home if it is filled with staff who can't be bothered doing their job. Laziness is all it is, want the wages but can't be bothered caring for the elderly.
When the social worker said next Thursday as they have a place ready it sucked the life out of myself and my sister. You never see this coming. Leading up to admission I had feelings of failure and sadness. When we visited the home all seemed to make more sense and reaffirmed the need for 24-hour care. The care is personal and active. There is an open-door visiting policy which makes keeping contact with my mum easy. Any time I visit, my mum is happy and the staff are always attentive. There are various activities going on within the home and within the community. Overall the care provided is excellent.
My uncle has been in the home for one week, I have been in a few other care homes during my working life and Netherton Court has been one of the best. The majority of staff that I have met have been very pleasant, professional and great carers. They are very resident-orientated, nothing is too much trouble for them. The home itself is well presented and the rooms are of a high standard.
The staff are always dedicated and caring. Very satisfied with the care given to mum.
I have no complaints, all is well in the home my sister is in. Staff are fantastic treated very well. Can't do enough for her. Very pleased all round.
Residents seem to be well looked after but the person I visit complains about the sameness of the food.
My father is extremely well cared for and the staff are friendly and polite and they treat him with dignity and respect. Although he is quite frail and spends most of his time in bed, the staff provide him with stimulating activities and regularly engage in conversation and singing with him. He always has a smile on his face when they are around him.
My mum has been a resident at Netherton Court Care Home since June 2015. I continue to be extremely satisfied with the excellent care and attention received by my mum. The care and dedication of all staff have ensured that my mum's needs are continually met, which has resulted in her enjoying a good quality of life and being at ease in her surroundings. It is a great comfort to me and the rest of the family to know that my mum's needs are met on a daily basis and that she is in a safe and friendly environment. Her room is very comfortable and she enjoys sitting in the residents' lounge and interacting as best she can with other residents and staff. She enjoys participating in the activities provided within the care home. The food provided is freshly cooked and nutritious. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their care, dedication and friendliness.
My mum settled in, really well to Netherton Court, thanks to the loving, kind and friendly staff. She has a lovely room, downstairs, in the frail, elderly area and the home is currently being refurbished. At times communication can be difficult but the care home manager is always happy to discuss and resolve any issues; laundry is lacking due care and attention so my mum requires frequent updates in clothing. There's a hairdresser in situ and a few residents use this facility. There are regular activities available ranging from walks/ parties/ handwork/ bingo/ games and entertainment. Relatives meetings are held on a regular basis for family members to discuss any problems/ expectations/ changes and fundraisers. The wonderful staff never failed during Covid and all worked tirelessly to keep residents and families safe. Downstairs is always clean and fresh with lovely meals provided in the dining room. Lovely garden area for residents to enjoy outdoor activities. Very happy.
I have nothing but praise for the staff, the management and the home. My mother had to go into care here in November 2020. She has been treated so well for the duration of her stay. On the few occasions where a staff member had missed something (not major), the staff have been immediate in their response to correcting the issue. These small issues where there was no need for complaint were more due to the restrictions and staff shortages caused by the whole Covid issue. The staff treat my mum with such respect and care. All dealings with the management are positive. Since the current manager has taken over, she and the deputy manager have done so much with the decor of the home. Ensuring fabulous communication is available to family of residents and making our family feel part of the home. I am thankful that my mum has been fortunate enough to be in Netherton Court and want to thank each and every member of staff.
Ever since my mum entered the home I have found the staff very caring and helpful. I no longer worry too much about her as I know she is being looked after and cared for. Any issues at all we are contacted and the family appreciate this very much. Mum seems very happy and settled, so thank you so much to all at the care home for everything you do for her. The family appreciate it very much.
I trust the staff at Netherton Court Care Home to care for and support my father. From my first interaction, each staff member took the time to learn my name, understand my father's needs and interests and enable him to get more out of life. The premises are clean and feel like 'home' rather than 'a home'. He especially enjoys the food and the company of others.
Could not ask for better care for my mum. Every need it met and exceeded with a person-centred approach. Staff cannot do enough to help and support mum and us as a family. My dad has been welcomed and made to feel at home here with mum. Mum was quite unwell on her arrival a year ago and since then she has thrived in her new home and her health has improved as best it can. This is solely due to the care and attention of staff. They are all lovely, friendly and professional.
I am delighted with the care my dad has received, he is always kept comfortable and seems happy with the staff. He has been really unwell lately and the staff have gone the extra mile with his care and he is now a bit better. They have been really supportive to us as a family too. Covid has been a nightmare for everyone but staff have tried to assist in so many ways! I would be delighted if the home could attract more staff as this would definitely assist. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care facility
From our first visit to Netherton Court, during the difficult process of accepting our aged and failing Dad required full-time care and supervision, we have found the staff to be genuinely caring and compassionate. The facility to be well laid out, modern, clean and evidently very well managed. The rooms are well-appointed, of a decent size with ensuite. Management was completely open and supportive in allowing us to personalise Dad's room, exactly the way he wanted, which was important to all of us. Nothing was a problem, and I really can’t offer enough praise to the staff and management in all that they do. Dad has now been a resident at Netherton Court for ten months. He has never a bad word to say about his situation, the facility, the staff, meals, or anything else. He is happy, content and always has praise for the carers and staff. Dad is comfortable, content and very well cared for - what more can you wish for your aged and failing parent during this period of their life.
So far all good.
My mother-in-law moved into Netherton Court Care Home in June during lockdown and the staff were extremely helpful in assisting with the arrangements for this. It was a very stressful time for the whole family but knowing that she was now safe with constant support helped us immensely. After the initial visit to Netherton the family knew right away that this was where we wanted her to move into when the time was right. From day one she has had nothing but high praise for the staff who fuss over her, telling us how clean everywhere is and how good her meals are. We are now able to visit her and she looks happy and content. I am impressed with the level of care given to residents and the activities arranged for them. I would recommend the home to anyone looking for a care home for a family member.
My mum was admitted to Netherton in June, so has only been there for a short time. However, I have seen nothing but patience and kindness from all of the staff to my mum and my family. Due to the lockdown, I haven't yet seen her room but we did visit prior to admitting Mum and we were more than happy with what we saw. Clean, bright and airy. Everyone is doing a fabulous job. My mum frequently tells us how lovely, caring and attentive all the staff are, the food is brilliant and there's plenty of it, she has a lovely room and most of all she loves the company. This has been very comforting for the family, as Mum has always insisted she didn't want to go to a care home. So getting a review from Mum, albeit she doesn't know that's what she's doing, speaks volumes. A wee additional point from me, I would like to say a special thank you to the team. I know I must have been a pain in the butt leading up to Mum's admission but you never showed it. I can now breathe.
