View Full Details of Lornebank Care CentreMum moved to Lornebank about 4 weeks ago from another care home. The reason she moved is that we were unhappy with the care being provided at her previous home. I have found that everyone is friendly and welcoming from the receptionist, domestic staff, and kitchen staff to the nursing staff. She is in the Livingstone unit which is a small unit with only 10 female residents and usually the same members of staff on duty which ensures consistency of care. The home itself is bright, airy and very clean. There are many activities taking place which she is encouraged to participate in. She herself appears to be happy with her surroundings. She is always clean and dry and appears well cared for. A menu is put on the board daily. All in all, I am very happy with the care being provided. The location is good for family visits and some shops and restaurants nearby if the weather is suitable for getting her out. Would not hesitate to recommend this care home to others.
It was a daunting experience having to look for a suitable care home for my mother. But after visiting Lornebank Care Centre and being greeted by a staff member at the reception it was an easy choice. We visited two other homes, but they did not even come close to Lornebank. During our visit, all the various parts of the centre were explained and we were advised as to which section mum would be best suited. All the staff were very cheerful and easy to engage with. It was a bit of a heartache taking her there and leaving her for the first day. But the staff were very reassuring that she would settle and they would keep an eye on her. So far she has only asked about three times "When am I going home". All the staff at Lornebank are first rate and we feel happy mum is with such caring professional people.
Lornebank was an easy choice for us when Mum's dementia became too difficult for us to cope with in the family home. We visited several care homes in the Hamilton area, and Lornebank felt right when we saw the facilities and spoke to the staff. Mum has been resident here now for around a year, and we're very happy with the care and attention she's received during that time. Not only that, there are plenty of activities and events to keep her interactive and engaged with those around her.
Friendly staff, always available, very clean and good activities.
Dad had a stay of just over 2 weeks at Lornebank to allow for a wet room to be fitted in his home. The manager was very helpful in arranging the stay and the team welcomed my dad and his family into the Peacock Wing. It was great being able to visit at any time and we even managed to celebrate my mum’s birthday with my dad in his room. Dad was well taken care of and particularly enjoyed having the facilities on hand to have regular showers, supported by the staff team looking after him. My mum was treated very kindly by the staff and felt comfortable visiting every day and spending time with my dad. Unfortunately, the heating was stuck on high in my dad’s room and was still waiting to be fixed when we left, which made the room quite uncomfortably warm at times but staff were vigilant in opening windows for my dad when needed.
Lornebank has proven to be an excellent Care Home in which my Mother-in-law receives first-class care. The staff are attentive and caring. They are totally dedicated to providing the most professional care for all the residents. The rooms and communal areas are immaculately clean and tidy and the resident's comfort is paramount. My wife and I visited a number of Care Himes before deciding on Lornebank and we are delighted with the standards within the home.
Since contacting Lornebank about our mum, we have had a very good experience with management and staff. Mum has been well looked after and settled well. We have been kept informed at all times. We are very happy we chose Lornebank.
My mum has been residing in Lornebank since June 2023 and the level of care she receives is excellent. The communication from staff is also excellent. The daily menu always offers various meals. The home is spotlessly clean and has entertainment (singers) every month which both residents and their relatives enjoy. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking to put a loved one into care.
My brother settled into Lornebank very quickly, following a traumatic stay at a previous care home. From the moment he arrived, his care was assessed and needs implemented quickly. Staff are very attentive to both the needs of the resident and family. The unit is calm, organised and happy, which gives the family confidence. We have the freedom to visit as we need and never feel as if we are intruding on the routine of the unit.
My sister's care has improved greatly since coming to Lornebank She has company 24/7 which is to her advantage. The staff are very attentive to the needs of the residents which means we can leave knowing my sister has the best of care. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lornebank.
We found the home very clean. The staff were extremely helpful, patient and welcoming. Any food was adequate for my dad. The home also had activities throughout Dad's stay.
My mum has just become a resident at Lornebank. She has been welcomed by the whole team from management to carers. The care is totally person-centred and all my mum's routines and preferences have been honoured. The environment is bright, fresh and extremely clean. Mum's room has all her own furniture and familiar things. The care team have created a homely space and friends and relatives are encouraged to visit at any time and are looked after with refreshment and feedback on Mum's progress. Day room is modern and has “real chairs and couches” rather than the usual wipe-down plastic ones! With garden views and activities the residents are given opportunities to interact and enjoy social time together. I very much look forward to Mum living life to the full, safe, cared for and nurtured by the wonderful staff at Lornebank. I am very grateful for the peace of mind this has given us as a family.
My uncle has recently moved into Lornebank Care Home and has since gained new friends, a lot of confidence, and in general appears to be a lot happier. We tried our hardest to keep him with us at home for as long as possible but as his general health continued to deteriorate, we as a family agreed that he needed 24-hour nursing care. As a nurse myself I am aware of all of his care needs and every single one has been met. Straight away he was referred to the opticians, dentist, physiotherapist, and registered with a new GP. As a family we have not had any issues and always take note that the environment is clean and fresh-smelling on every visit. The staff are friendly and approachable and always happy to help. The manager was great when we came for a viewing and he was really supportive and answered all our questions. My uncle has put on weight since being admitted also which is reassuring to know that he is enjoying the meals. Lornebank has been a great choice for us knowing that he is safe.
In the short time my husband has been here the staff have been really great and he seems to be enjoying the company.
My gran has recently moved into Lornebank and the care has been better than we could have hoped for. All the staff are great.
My mum has been in Lornebank Livingstone for the past two and a half years. The staff are brilliant, can't fault them.
My dad has moved from another care home to Lornebank and the difference in him is amazing. He now gets out of bed and joins in with other residents. The staff in his unit are very pleasant and always willing to help and they have great empathy towards the service users. The activities are great and there is always something going on to entertain the residents.
My friend's son died abroad, very unexpectedly and she was devastated. The staff in Livingstone were wonderful to her and could not have taken better care of her. She was so well supported during this terrible time as she has been since she moved into Lornebank almost 2 years ago. The staff are also very thoughtful to visitors. Her room is always lovely, clean and tidy. The buzzers were not working for quite some time! Only complaint.
My mum moved to Lornebank in October 2022. The team have been really supportive and helped Mum settle. They have been very responsive and happy to answer any questions. I am also happy with the varied activities that are on offer.
I'm very pleased with the care and being notified of everything that takes place.
