View Full Details of Southview Care HomeOverall I'm happy with the care and support for my Brother.
Dad has been a resident at the home for over 6 years, suffering from Dementia, the level of care he receives has been excellent, the staff are extremely caring and compassionate. As a family we couldn't be more satisfied with the care our dad is receiving.
Warm welcome. Offered warm refreshments by caring staff. Cleanliness is five star! Attitude and behaviour towards both visitors and service users - remarkable! Excellent.
My father receives excellent care at this wonderful home. His dementia has gradually worsened, but the staff have been immensely good to him and very supportive of us, as his family. Every carer has shown pride in their work, making sure my dad's final journey is one of dignity and love.
I visited my brother today and was very pleased with his level of care, and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
I am very pleased with the care he receives at Southview Care Home. The staff are always very pleasant and caring. They are always patient and attentive in dealing with him. Staff are helpful when dealing with family concerns and questions. Staff are supportive at all times towards residents and families of residents.
My brother is happy and very contented living in Southview. This care home has two separate units, and he has stayed in both, all with excellent care. The staff are totally fantastic and cannot do enough for him. He enjoys the food and the comfort of his room with his TV and radio. Recently his family purchased a small fridge to keep his drinks and nibbles handy. He has also recently moved to a freshly decorated bigger room. The garden area is being refreshed and ready for the summer. It was a Godsend during 'lockdown', as were the 'window' visits. The Covid times were extremely difficult, but the staff and manager succeeded in keeping me up to date with the guidance rules. There's also a quarterly relative meeting which gives all information about the care home.
Mum seems happy. Staff very pleasant and approachable.
I am very happy with the staff, staffing levels and management of the service. My friend is happy there, and I am comfortable that they are treated very well. My friend appears happy and well looked after. The rooms are very hot, but I guess it’s for the comfort and well-being of the residents.
My brother died in this care home on September 13th. Why was there not a defibrillator, he could have been saved if a defibrillator had been used. Why is there not a defibrillator in this care home? And also he was receiving a lousy £20 pound per week. They took his wee bit of independence he had away from him by holding his money back from him and giving him £20 per week. What was he supposed to do with that, it's disgusting as he had a lot of money. I had to keep him when all the time he had his own money.
I was very pleased with the review and the way that it was set out regarding the questions and answers that were given regarding my brother's care in the care home and hope that continues. As it looks like life for him in the care home has come to long-term care. I am very pleased with the staff and carers who look after him as it's not an easy job in this day and age, they deserve a lot of credit.
My mum really enjoys being at Southview Care Home. Staff are always friendly and pleasant. They take great care of her personal hygiene, and she always looks clean and tidy. Before Covid, they were taken out on day trips; would like to see this happening again, as feel it’s good for them to have a day-out/activities.
I am so disappointed to find out that staff are no longer allowed to take the patient out that it has to be family. There could be someone that doesn't have anyone else to take them out. My brother loved the days when he got out. I thought that was all part of the service and the rehabilitation to get him back into the community. It is not always going to be a member of the family who are going to be there to take him out, so the patients have to suffer because the company have changed their rules. So disappointed.
I have found the home and staff, in general, to be competent, open and friendly. During the Covid year, they have stepped up to the plate and seem to have handled the virus situation very well.
I cannot fault anything about Southview. Staff very caring towards my son, who is a resident a Southview. From day one, excellent care throughout, very patient and a nice place to visit and a great atmosphere when I visit.
Southview Care Home has given my dad a second lease of life; he is so happy here and loves everyone. I and family, are really grateful for the care my dad receives from everyone. I can only show my appreciation in words, but we are really grateful for everything that everyone at Southview does for my dad.
My brother is a resident at Southview, and I couldn't ask for any more from the staff and the personalized care that he receives. During the covid pandemic, they have been really supportive and kept the family up to date with everything, and all the guidelines etc. There is no better place that myself and my family would wish for him to be in than Southview.
I think I am treated well in Southview. You get fed well and food is good as well. You can talk to the staff as well. I am hoping to see my family soon as well. All the residents I get on with well. I've no problems with anything about Southview. I would like to go back to work and get my flat back.
I like the snooker room. I like the garden. I like the staff.
The care home is very good and I like it with my friends.
