View Full Details of Woodhurst Care CentreMum has been a resident in Woodhurst Care Centre for about 6 weeks now. She has settled in very well. I can't thank the staff enough for the care and support Mum is getting. She has even gained about half stone in weight (thanks to one staff member in particular). Everyone is so welcoming. I can't fault anything with the care Mum is receiving. She is so well cared for and is safe. Thanks to all the staff.
The road in is full of potholes, not sure who is responsible but needs to be fixed. The lift is a worry, it needs to be replaced. Roof garden could be better. Staff are very good but are overworked and underpaid. Overall the care is good.
The staff is excellent and Mum is well looked after.
We are consistently impressed and very grateful to the manager and her first class team at Woodhurst for the outstanding care my mum has received over the past six years. My mum has advanced vascular dementia and the wonderful staff here look after her every need with compassion and patience every single day. Despite dealing with the nightmare of Covid these past two years, they have kept all the residents and staff safe and always have a smile and a cheery word for you. We could not be more thankful for this wonderful, caring staff who have made my mum's time here so very comfortable and fulfilling. Thank you to the manager and your team of angels!
Obviously, with Covid restrictions access within the home is restricted to visitors but from what I have seen while my mum has been in for respite has been positive. Mum appears happy and well cared for. All staff are friendly and professional and I feel content she is getting good care. Lack of ensuites is a drawback. Mum was admitted on emergency respite so she will be pay respite rates.
Woodhurst Care Centre sits in the centre of Carluke, friendly staff with good facilities and large grounds outside. Rooms vary in size, however, good sizes. Patients are well looked after by staff and meals served throughout the day. I would highly recommend Woodhurst Care Centre.
Staff are always very welcoming. It is good to see my dad is always in the lounge surrounded by company and not isolated in his room, although he does have the choice to go there if he wishes. There is a good variety of activities/entertainment for the residents. I believe the staff know my dad well and their care and respect for him is very good.
My dad has lived very comfortably in Woodhurst for a number of years. Although the building is old, his room is freshly decorated and is kept nice and clean. He has space for his own TV and bookcase and lots of family photos are hung on the walls to make him feel 'at home'. There are few en-suite rooms and dads is cosy and clean. The best thing about Woodhurst is the kind, attentive and caring staff. They have made a real difference in his life and he feels well supported and cared for. There are activities such as a weekly quiz, occasional concerts and events. The menu is varied and gives dad adequate choice and the kitchen staff are happy to cook extra items or something else to please dad. Overall very happy with Woodhurst.
My mum has been in this care home since July 2016. Since this time, I can honestly say it has changed for the better when a new manager arrived. I am very happy with the care my mum receives here, and the nursing staff are excellent. The home is always clean and well maintained, the majority of carers are lovely and well suited to this caring environment.
My mother has been a resident for 4 years now and as a family, we are very satisfied with the care she receives in this care home. Staff are lovely and keep you well informed of any changes affecting her.
Staff provide a good level of care. Always keeping me informed of any change in my sister's condition. The home is clean and well maintained with a good level of security.
My father has to be moved into Woodhurst as a result of my mother being admitted to hospital as she was his primary carer. Dad went into Woodhurst 2 days before my mother sadly died. So in effect dad lost his wife of 60 years and his home all in one fell swoop. The staff at Woodhurst were obviously aware of all of this and treated him with the utmost compassion, sensitivity and care. He has now settled in well and for me, it has made an impossibly hard and traumatic time for us just that bit easier. I know my dad is safe, well looked after and above all cared for.
My relative went into the above care home in May 2015. I have experienced no problems with the care from the staff employed in this care home. I am really happy with this establishment and their commitment to the residents. It is always difficult to make a care decision for a relative but I feel my choice of home has made this change a lifestyle for my mother more easier to take.
