View Full Details of Lunan Court Care HomeMy dad was only a resident for just over two weeks. In that time I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and professionalism in a difficult time. They were respectful and dignified at all times. Thank you all for your kindness and support.
After weeks of searching for a care home for my dad Lunan Court was the second one we visited that day. We were met by the friendly receptionist and had a pleasant chat then was shown around by one of the staff who instantly made us feel welcome and answered any questions we had she was the perfect person to show us around and assured my brother and myself that dad would be well looked after. The day of his admittance I called that evening and got one of the staff members and she put our minds at ease and even let us talk to him on the phone to make sure he was doing ok. Unfortunately, my husband and myself came to visit my dad on Sunday the 22nd of December for the 1st time since he was in and were met at the door by a rude member of staff who gave a sharp answer when I asked a genuine question. I will put that down to a bad day. Otherwise, everything else has been great.
My mum has been a resident at Lunan Court Care Home for 3 and half years. From the minute we arrived, we were given a lovely warm welcome and that warmth has grown over time. The staff go over and above in their care and kindness of all residents and they are treated with the most utmost respect and dignity. There is a family feel to the place between staff and residents but also between staff members.
Care and attention are excellent. Staff very friendly, good atmosphere, outings are great for my mother as she enjoys singalongs and the company.
My mum passed away peacefully at Lunan Court. I have thanked all the staff and would like to say a special thank you to the manager. Thank you for everything, what a great loving caring home and thank you all. Too many names to mention individually, that's how brilliant you all are will miss you all loads.
My daughter came to the home reluctantly after a long stay in the hospital when she always believed she would come home with me. This was not possible as she came kicking and screaming to you. I think the staff and management are dealing well with her as she can often still be very angry. You are doing your best and I know it can't be easy. I hope it will improve. Thanks.
Excellent care home. My step-mum was celebrating her 100th birthday and the staff and management went above and beyond to facilitate this amazing birthday. Staff were always attentive and listened to any concerns about my stepmum's health. They always came as soon as possible. Management was amazing and very caring and kind. I feel my stepmum is well taken care of and looked after when I have to leave and return to Canada.
I found the home very welcoming. Staff always sociable and helpful. I travel from Newcastle to see my brother and always found him clean and well dressed and cared for. My brother was at the home for six years so I really don't have to say anymore. All staff were his family and all loved him and had a good relationship.
The staff at Lunan Court provide excellent care. Very people-centred. They listen to your worries and work with the family. My husband is very well looked after, even though he has limited conversation. They still speak to him. December was a magical month. So many activities for the residents. Such happy faces. The staff, managers and nurses have made this care home a lovely place to be.
My mum was a resident in Lunan Court for 18 months and it was a very hard decision for my dad to decide that long-term care was needed. From the time she moved in she was treated with dignity and respect and there was so much joy and laughter in the home. There was often music and singing and the social media page was updated regularly with photos. Staff interacted positively with the residents. My mum was well cared for and seemed happy when we visited. My dad was ill this year and sadly passed away suddenly. The manager and the team were so kind and compassionate. He was treated like a resident as he visited Mum daily. I cannot praise the manager highly enough as she was such a support to me personally. Sadly my mum also deteriorated in October and passed away. During her last days I stayed with her and was made to feel so welcome, there was an endless supply of food and drinks for all the family that were visiting. The staff were very attentive to Mum at a devastating time and responsive to her needs.
From the day my husband moved into Lunan Court Care Home my family and I were very impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the manager and all her staff. Nothing was too much trouble and my husband was treated with kindness, good humour and dignity. We were shown the same compassion by the staff throughout my husband's time at Lunan Court especially supported during his final days which were a very sad time for us all. In our view, he couldn't have been in a better care home and we are grateful to the whole Lunan Court team.
My stepmother was transferred from the hospital to Lunan Court Care Home. She was very confused and frail. She was received with kindness and consideration. The staff were very thorough and sensitive in dealing with her health and personal needs. In spite of this, her health declined and she passed away in a few weeks. During this time, the staff made sure that she was comfortable and that her passing was very peaceful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone who was in need of such care.
No problem at all with Lunan Court Care Home. Husband, Mum and now Brother-in-law, so think that says it all. Very happy with the care they all received.
I have visited regularly two close friends over the last five years and have found the care at Lunan Court to be of a very high standard. The care home is kept to a very good standard of decor, cleanliness and comfort for the residents. The staff are courteous, kind and caring, making visits always a positive and welcoming experience.
The staff are absolute gems. My husband's eyes brighten up when they come in to see him. They have the patience of a saint. Everyone makes you so welcome.
Mum was admitted to Lunan Court just a week before Christmas 2020 and only one year into the pandemic, in the early stages of vascular dementia. From day one mum was treated with dignity and respect during some very difficult times when lockdown and restricted visiting was at a high. The staff were always accommodating and warm, wouldn't have asked for better care. Even more so in mum's last few days where compassion and sensitivity were shown throughout. This gave comfort and I can't express my thanks enough to all the staff involved with mum during her stay.
My mother in law sadly declined in health over a short period of time. At end of life her care from staff at Lunan Court was second to none. I witnessed at first hand the gentleness of moving and handling, speaking to her at every step making sure she was comfortable. From management to carers - domestic to front office everyone had a kind word to say about my mother in law. That means a lot. Thank you to everyone.
The staff and management are very helpful and caring at all times.
During COVID crisis Lunan Court staff have gone above and beyond to make sure all regulations were adhered to. Results show there has been very little infection at the home. Now that we are able to visit more freely precautions are still in place. All staff have been under a terrible strain but everyone I have had contact with have been so caring and determined to keep standards high. Somehow we all manage to have a laugh with my mother-in-law to keep spirits up.
Due to COVID it's hard to judge but under the circumstances, staff have worked hard at making sure visiting goes to plan and are very friendly and welcoming. Also, put lots of photos with activities carried out. Overall as far as I can see, doing a great job.
