View Full Details of Lisden Care HomeOur mum moved to Lisden in June 2024 because of her deteriorating dementia. From day 1 the staff have made such a difference. She went from being a restless yet exhausted lady who wanted to walk up to 9 miles a day to be so much more settled in herself, and as a result, is now able to eat well and engage with activities she couldn't focus on before and to rest bringing her quality to her life living with dementia. Mum is now so content and smiling on every visit bringing much relief and peace to us and this is a credit to all the staff at Lisden involved in Mum's care! We have been so grateful to the staff who have taken the time to update us on how Mum is getting on. If ever we have been worried about anything as Mum's condition changes this has always been listened to and a plan made together to help. All the staff are kind and caring and Lisden is always clean, warm and has a homely feel whilst being practical for people navigating their way with dementia. Thank you so much!
Happy with the care my mother recieves at Lisden. can't thank the senior nurse on duty enough, the night my mother's health rapidly deteriorated due to a chest infection, the senior nurse drove to Dundee for the antibiotics. We all think if she hadn't done that Mum may not have survived. so grateful for that.
My mother moved to Lisden Care Home in September 2022 with dementia. She arrived a very confused, distressed and agitated lady. Despite still having the illness, within a relatively short period of time the happy smiling person re-emerged. This occurred due to the efforts, love, care and compassionate attention afforded to my Mother by all of the staff without exception. Mother enjoyed all of the activities provided. The establishment itself has such a homely atmosphere. The rooms are of a high standard and attention is paid to individual food requirements. As my Mother's illness progressed I was always informed of any changes or issues of concern. On visits to the home I was always made to feel very welcome. There was always someone around to have an informal chat about Mother. Mother recently passed away and her passing was handled in such a respectful and dignified manner. The staff were also so sympathetic and supportive to myself. Heartfelt thanks to Lisden and all their staff.
My wife was admitted to Lisden with dementia in December 2023. Despite my apprehensions she settled in very quickly. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the staff are unfailingly pleasant and attentive. I am very confident that she is receiving the best available care.
My mum has recently moved into Balhousie Lisden Care Home and I am very impressed with the staff and the facilities that are provided at Lisden. The staff are kind, caring and attentive and are dedicated to caring for my Mum with dignity and ensuring all her caring and nursing needs are met. Staff (especially the Senior Nurse and the manager) are without exception helpful and responsive to any questions I have and have been so very helpful and kind to me since Mum became a resident. There is a lovely feel about Lisden House. The staff are a happy team. The building itself and the rooms that residents stay in and use are very well maintained and the gardens are beautiful. The building has been renovated to provide exceptional facilities for residents. Residents are well-engaged with staff and are supported and encouraged to lead healthy and happy lives.
I am a resident’s sister and live 200 miles away. I visit three/four times a year and have always found Balhousie Lisden Care Home in tip-top operation. The staff are so caring and helpful and always make themselves available for any questions I have. My brother is very settled now and I noticed a huge improvement in his well-being, he is very happy in Lisden. Well done all staff at Lisden, can’t thank you enough for everything.
I can not thank the amazing and dedicated staff at Balhousie Lisden Care Home enough. Three months ago I made a very difficult decision to move my husband and it has been the best outcome I could have wished for. I'm seeing parts of my husband's character evolving again. He is content, happy and extremely well cared for. Thank you team Balhousie Lisden Care Home for all your hard work and dedication.
I have been going to Balhousie Lisden Care Home for two and a half years at different times and days and I see the residents having fun with the staff, always something going on and my dad is always looking well cared for. I cannot praise the manageress and her team enough for what they do. It's more of a home-from-home.
My father and stepmother are both residents at Lisden. I visit weekly and have found the staff very helpful. They are very good at phoning me if something happens to either of my parents. I also get regular updates via email regarding their well-being. My parents have been residents for nearly a year, I can't think of any occasion where I've needed to complain.
My mum is a resident of Lisden Care Home. My family and I take great comfort in the care and support staff provide to my mum. The care home's new manager (who has been there in many different roles previously) has made such a positive difference to the home. The home environment has been re-energised with wonderful activities, a garden redesign to benefit all residents, and updated decor sympathetic to the needs of residents. Since admission, my mum has become more like her old self, and this is due to the excellent support from the lovely staff in Lisden. I would not wish my mum to be in any other care home, and cannot thank the staff and management enough for their heartfelt commitment to supporting my mum.
Everyone is friendly, helpful and caring. Since my dad moved into Lisden he has been excellently cared for. I couldn't be happier with the care he has been given and it gives us all of us comfort and peace of mind that he is so well looked after.
I can't fault this home at all. From the first day, Mum went in, she has been singing the staff and home's praises from the staff to management, and anytime I have been in, the staff are excellent and can't do enough for either Mum or us as a family. I thank the home management and staff to the highest.
I am delighted with the care and support provided to my mother in Lisden Care Home. The staff are very dedicated and are fantastic with my mum. I include in this the whole spectrum of staff from nursing to management, etc. My mother herself often tells me how happy she is there.
I'm very satisfied with the care shown to my husband. The staff are also very helpful to his visiting family.
Can’t believe the change in mum, her overall mood is much better. She has settled in well. This is her third month at Lisden, she is so much happier. Both myself and my brother feel that she is getting the proper care she deserves. Care staff are excellent. Which makes us both think we have made the right choice to have her cared for in Lisden.
Excellent care provided to residents by the care assistants, senior care assistants, Deputy Manager (nurse) and newly appointed Manager. The staff are very caring and attentive to the needs of individual residents and provide appropriate support. The Deputy Manager and newly appointed Manager are very approachable and communicate well with the relatives of residents. They also respond constructively to suggestions about improvements and work hard to find solutions to any issues raised. Definite improvements have been made since the appointment of the new Manager. Care staff deserve special praise for their dedication.
The staff are excellent and treated like family. The only downside, not enough staff on duty when it takes two carers to take a resident to the toiled and not enough activities.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming. You can join the residents for a meal if you wish. The care and support to bedridden residents is normally very good but one day last week my husband was missed for afternoon cuppy. The management are always willing to listen. The food is good and the Christmas dinner is just like home when relatives are invited to join residents at one large family table. My husband has been resident for six years and his comment is "The girls really care for me, they can't do enough for me. They are so good"
The home is clean and well cared for overall. There are very caring and kind staff who do all they can for the residents. The food is home cooked with an adequate choice of meals. If something does not suit then the kitchen will try to accommodate a special request. Special occasions are catered for too. Activities are planned and the residents enjoy a variety of activities from outside trips to musical entertainment. The staff do the best they can to make the home a happy place.
Building pleasant but equipment in general in rooms could do with upgrading. New chairs etc visible downstairs but not given the same attention in rooms, where residents prefer to stay all day. Menus for residents require to be reviewed and also take cognisance of hot weather conditions and not serve hot stews etc. They are repetitive by nature. Continuity of staff would be beneficial
