View Full Details of Forebank Care HomeI have been visiting Forebank Care Home for over a year now and find the staff very friendly and helpful and there is always a good atmosphere. Nothing seems to be any bother for the staff. There is always plenty going on. I always look forward to my visit with my sister-in-law.
My mother received exemplary care during her stay. Also, the family received excellent support and empathy as they sat with mum for 5 days before her passing. The staff were brilliant with the residents no matter the resident's disabilities. The staff's patience is amazing. Have already put my name down (ha ha)
My mother-in-law had three weeks of respite care in February/March this year and did not want to leave as she needs 24-hour care; however, the social worker allocated to her did not agree, despite the manager, carers, me and her GP, advocating for her to remain. After her return home, she had multiple falls and injuries and was often lying on the floor unable to get up again as her falls pendant didn't always work. She was not safe at home, even with carers attending four times daily and ended up back in hospital. She was discharged to Forebank Care Home and is now a permanent resident. My father-in-law is also a resident at Forebank and has been since around October 2020. They are both cared for extremely well and I could not fault any aspect of their care provision. The staff treat the residents with great respect, and they are genuinely caring. We are always informed if there are any issues, e.g. if there is a fall/minor health issue. They are happy, safe and well cared for. Fantastic care home.
Beth parents moved her recently and staff have been amazing, helpful flexible and show a high level of care. Home is lively and residents well catered for. In the short time parents here, staff have been very helpful when parents unsettled.
The staff in this care home, from cleaners to chefs to nurses and management, are all very service user-focused. Very inclusive and understanding of residents.
Staff are excellent as well as looking after my wife they look after me when I visit her.
My mother in law was placed in Forebank Care Home as an interim placement to getting the correct care package at home. She arrived in Feb and left in March. Whilst she was initially upset at having to be placed in a care home, my mother in law became firm friends with all the carers in the home. She was so well looked after. The food was fabulous, the carers were all so supportive and caring with her, she even loved the cleaners. Honestly we, as a family, felt so confident that she was being looked after so well. We knew she was safe and cared for. We could also bring in dogs to visit her, and it meant the world to her that we could. The only thing that was not great was the lack of television in the room she was staying in. There was a telly, but you could only get 1 random channel on it and the TV was placed in a bad place for lying down in the bed. However, there were a few entertainment sessions that she raved about. Thank you all for your care and support whilst she was in residence.
I could not recommend Forebank Care home enough, from the owner to the management, nursing and care staff they are remarkable. Their interaction with the patients is amazing, the care is second to none and not only do they care for the patients, they care about the families also. My mother was in another care home prior to this one (a popular one) and I can honestly say that stealing her from the last one was the best thing we could have done. One staff member, in particular, is a credit to this business along with the care home managers and all staff. They cannot do enough for you. The care of my mother has been exceptional. They took my dad under their wing when he visited Mum and looked out for him all the time, they even fed him. My dad died recently and we are so glad we had the staff here to call upon. We were able to rely on them to look after Mum while we dealt with the funeral and the staff even volunteered to accompany her to the funeral as she is in a wheelchair. Fantastic care home.
The staff at Forebank are exceptional. They looked after my dad with love and compassion, always treating him with dignity and respect with every single interaction. The nursing care he received was first-class. Very professional and caring. The staff knew him well as a person. They took time to listen to our stories about Dad and interacted with him, knowing him and treating him with love, humour and friendliness. There was always a warm welcome for the family at the door and a smile. Staff got to know our family too, and nothing was too much bother for them, often making a cup of tea if we were in with Dad, especially when he came towards his final weeks. Dad enjoyed the food in Forebank - home-cooked food that suited his tastes, and there was always a top-up of tea or biscuits on the go. I really valued that the staff respected Dad's rights. My dad was in respite care for a few months from July 2022 to Sep 2022, then for end-of-life care from November 2022 to January 2023.
During my experiences of visiting my Mother at Forebank, I have always found the staff, including management, carers and nurses to be very polite to me and to their residents. They carry out, on a daily basis, some of the most harrowing jobs that others wouldn't necessarily want to do in difficult situations. In the latter stages of my Mother's life at Forebank, they all gave her the very best of care and attention that anyone could have hoped for, for which I am eternally grateful, as are my brother and other relatives. Thank you all.
My husband was in care at Forebank Care Home with a combination of vascular dementia and Alzheimer's from which he subsequently died. During his time there he was kept clean, tidy, entertained and occupied as much as possible. The carers there treated the residents like family, actually not just the residents but the family too. Nothing was too much trouble and although it was very difficult because of the pandemic, I was at all times kept informed of what was happening with my husband, and my thoughts and feelings were taken note of. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for all the staff - carers, cleaners, admin staff, kitchen staff, handymen etc, as they work as a unit to make life bearable for residents and families alike. When you have been married for many years and looked after your husband all that time, it's difficult to hand that over to someone else but I can't imagine anyone who could have done it better.
My uncle was a resident within Forebank Care home for a number of years I always felt he was treated with dignity and respect and that the staff and especially the management would go above and beyond in everything they did for him there was nothing to big or small.
