View Full Details of Benvie Care HomeHappy with all at Benvie Care Home. My husband is in very good hands.
My gran's end-of-life care was utterly appalling. I can't even describe the heartache this has caused me to witness being a carer myself. Tried to express my concerns with management, she was not interested and would not take my complaint seriously. I needed to go to care inspectors instead to reveal that my gran didn't have an end-of-life care plan written out, pain management hadn't been managed properly, and gaps in paperwork an hour before passing, and when she's was in palliative care - 15 minutes checks were meant to be getting done, she died alone as no one called to tell us she was deteriorating and not one member of staff said we can stay until a young member of the family was told when leaving. Her mouth care was not given any of the times I was in. I was the one giving her mouth care. The list goes on. The article in the paper from August was my report to the care inspector. The level of care was heartbreaking, no apology from home. Every complaint I put in could not be upheld.
Very pleased with the care and respect my mum is receiving since she went to Benvie Care Home. All staff are very friendly. Home is always very clean. I can now relax a bit knowing my mum is being well looked after and cared for.
Pleased to have found a caring environment for my husband who has dementia. He is contented and well looked after which puts my mind to rest.
My sister-in-law and I looked after Dad for five years before he was admitted to Benvie Care Home and we are both most impressed with the level of care that he is receiving.
My husband has been a resident in Benvie Care Home for six weeks. He is in the advanced stage of Alzheimer's disease. He has settled in reasonably well and I find he is mostly happy and content. I find staff caring and respectful to him and myself.
My mother has been in Benvie Care Home for respite care after a spell in hospital. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity by all staff, who were professional, friendly and extremely helpful. I felt nothing was too much to ask to help my mum settle into a new environment.
I think a review is a great thing, it lets you know how your loved ones are getting on. Staff get to know their likes and dislikes etc. I have a brother that's been in the care home for almost seven years, he loves it and the staff are brilliant. I was very lucky to get my partner there also. He loves the staff, food, care, and cleanliness and his room are lovely (homely). The management and staff are amazing.
I am very grateful and appreciative to all the staff at Benvie Care Home for the care they provide for my mum.
Very happy with the care provided. The staff are very good. Any concerns are addressed quickly. Dad seems happy there. Management and staff are very approachable.
The manager and staff in this establishment are excellent. The client care is excellent. They make relatives feel very welcome and I am kept informed on all aspects of care and if there are any concerns about health. All the staff are very patient and cheerful and the home is always clean and tidy. My sister-in-law's room is to be decorated soon. Client care and dignity are always foremost. All staff are very supportive of family as well as clients. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone. Well done to all the staff regardless of status.
The staff are hard-working seeing to the resident's needs. They also keep me well-informed about my husband's well-being. My husband cannot speak or walk and remains secure in a chair, staff meet all his needs. I visit him twice weekly, and the staff always make me feel welcome. I also received a copy of the programme they had for entertainment and activities during the festive season. I am still very pleased that he is cared for in Benvie Care Home.
My sister already given her review of your excellent Care Home and I would just like to echo this! As a trained nurse myself I was very impressed, reassured and happy with all aspects of Mum's care. I just want to thank all the staff for looking after my mum with all the respect, dignity and care that she deserved. In Mum's final days we couldn't have asked for more support and comfort, not only to mum but, to all our family. Thank you to everyone who works and is involved in Benvie Care Home.
After being apprehensive about making the move of my mum into full-time care. I am more than satisfied with the care, help and professionalism of the staff and management at Benvie Care Home. My mind has been put at ease that mum is, at last, receiving the carte and compassion from all at Benvie. I have no hesitation in recommending Benvie Care Home.
My mother sadly passed away on Christmas Eve after being a resident for almost 3 years. Her care has been brilliant throughout in such difficult circumstances due to covid. I would, however, like to speak about her last few days on palliative care because the staff at Benvie were fantastic. They made mum comfortable and treated her with such dignity, I couldn't have asked for more for her in her last days. Not only that was exceptional but the treatment and support of our family was such a help at such a difficult time. Thanks so much to all the staff for that.
My husband has only recently gone into Benvie Care Home but I have found the staff and management to be very professional and approachable. They are being very proactive in meeting my husbands quite significant needs, engaging with several outside agencies to enhance the care they are providing. They have also helped me to cope with this very difficult time.
In general, we are happy with dad's care and everything seems well organised but to be honest, we don't really know what his day to day life is. We understand that because dad came in during Covid things have been difficult and we feel he's definitely deteriorating. It's very difficult to get through on the phone sometimes and often we are told he's eating and drinking well but no more. I feel I can't comment on the activities question as I don't know what goes on. We thought it was great when there was an events programme last Christmas and we knew what was happening.
My mother has been with this facility for almost over 3 weeks and she couldn’t have been better! The staff are kind, patient and caring. She’s finally getting the care she deserves. Thanks to these wonderful staff who look after her, I don’t have to be constantly anxious about my mother. Also thanks to the manager who has been marvellous as she took me through step by step how she was being taking care of.
Some staff are rude and the tail wags the dog at this care home as some carers with no medical training seem to think they know better than the manager. The manager is also devious and will suppress complaints at every opportunity.
I am more than grateful to the home. Any medical issues are dealt with immediately and all the staff are extremely helpful.
