View Full Details of Catmoor House Care HomeI am more than happy with my mother's care and confident to be leaving her to be well supported with all her needs.
My mother in law was admitted to Catmoor House Care Home for palliative care, following a diagnosis of cancer. All of the staff showed her (and us) kindness and compassion. As a local health care professional, I had high expectations of care, and the staff exceeded these. When my mother in law's appetite was poor, kitchen staff made her alternative snacks. In her final days, staff were amazing in all of their dealings with us as a family.
Mum has been at Catmoor House for over a year. She always speaks highly of the staff, who are very caring and can't do enough for her. She particularly enjoys the activities, especially the trips in the minibus. She was recently involved in choosing plants for the garden, which made her feel valued. Management are always available to discuss any issues we have, which are readily addressed. The atmosphere is relaxed, caring, and most importantly fun.
We have visited regularly since May 2023 and find the staff to be most caring, accommodating, and understanding. If help is required someone comes immediately. The manager is always visible and is very friendly ad approachable. We are always offered a cup of tea which is lovely. The trips in the minibus are very good with residents looking very happy in the photos. There is always something going on, good concerts and activities and the staff love to encourage everyone to have a good time.
We had Mum in another care facilitiy for crisis care, and I can only describe it as horrendous! We had heard good reviews about Catmoor and had to fight our case to get Mum in. The manager was an integral part of helping us get here, and for that, we are eternally grateful! She has thrived here and is well cared for and her diabetes is closely monitored.
Very happy with the care and support my father-in-law receives at Catmoor House. The staff are helpful and considerate with him and also with us the family. The room looks onto the garden with its own patio. There is also the family room are very nice and comfortable. After viewing all other nursing homes in the area Catmoor was definitely number one.
Since Dad moved into Catmoor, he feels so loved and cared for by the wonderful staff. Nothing is too much for the caring staff, and it gives all his family less worry to know Dad is safe and secure in a friendly care home. I would recommend this care home to any family.
My Mother-in-law was taken into care in September 2022. The standard of nursing care was outstanding and all her needs were met. The care home always had a vibrant and happy atmosphere, with all staff always going above and beyond to make her happy and making sure family were kept well up to date with her care. Management was always on hand to be asked any questions and were very pleasant. Everything at Catmoor ticked all the right boxes with us and we could have not asked for any more. Sadly she passed in June and the staff were excellent in her last few days.
Catmoor has a lovely homely feel and the staff are amazing. Mum regards it as home and is very happy. Mum feel and broke her hip, and the staff had her up and walking within weeks to attend a family wedding.
I walked in the door to view nearly 2 years ago and knew straight away this was a happy welcoming home and that my Mother-in-law would be happy and well looked after. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much bother for them, and the well-being team takes to get to know what Mother-in-law liked and disliked. The manager and deputy are very approachable and understanding, nothing is a problem.
Absolutely fantastic. All staff are extremely pleasant/welcoming. A joy to go into Catmoor House. The staff always keep you up to date about family members. Just such a loving, caring environment to go into.
I have nothing but praise for all the staff at Catmoor. My dad receives 5-star care even when he's having an off day nothing is too much trouble for the Team. He is always clean and tidy and room is always spotless when I pop in. He is taken on little trips out which he enjoys.
I enjoyed being in the garden today and seeing the garden from the window in my room.
My father has been in Catmoor House Care Home for nearly two years and I cannot underestimate the care, kindness and love that is shown to both him and me. The nursing care towards Dad is exemplary. I personally have an absolutely brilliant relationship with most members of the staff.
Having moved here because of a good manager, was disappointed that after a few weeks this changed, now it is changing again (three managers in eight months). It's difficult to comment on activities as a relative I have no idea, would be good if you got an activities sheet so you could encourage your relative. Likewise, food - quite often not what's on the menu at the door, relative complains of too much pasta. Relative also says no evening drink served, long time from tea time until breakfast the next day, sometimes up out of bed for an hour/hour and a half before breakfast. Breakfast at 9.30/10, lunch at 12.30, tea time at 16.30 then nothing.
Like my room, food is really good, staff are excellent.
We have a lot of fun. The food is good and I am treated with respect.
