View Full Details of Braefield Nursing & Residential Care HomeWhen my father went into Braefield, I wasn't sure whether he would like it, but after a week or so, he was very happy. He was well looked after and treated well. He always enjoyed the chat with the staff and was always happy enjoying his time there (which was nearly three years until he passed away in July 2022). The staff in the home looked after him well and were very supportive, even to me during my visits. I found the atmosphere very welcoming and friendly and was able to have a chat and laugh with the staff during my visits.
Room clean but could be updated, ensuite for disabled users needed updating. Overall, carers and nursing staff were excellent and my husband settled in well for the short time he was in. Would definitely go back again.
My aunt has been a resident for a number of months and has received a good standard of care; the staff are unfailingly supportive and kind and have gone out of their way to make her stay as comfortable as possible.
Dad is a real home bird, my mum has been caring for him at home, she is all he knows. We were all nervous about him going into respite but from the minute we stepped into Braefield it felt like home. Dad was always in good form when we went to see him, extremely well looked after. The staff are amazing, go out of their way to make him comfortable. Nothing was ever too much. He even cried when we were bringing him home.
This home was excellent. As my mother was not a very sociable lady, she was not looking forward to going into a home for rest. I cannot give the staff enough praise, they welcomed her so warmly and put her at ease, they were all wonderful. The room she was in overlooked a meadow with grown-up trees all around - a view that was just like home. The food was good, the rooms were clean and after two weeks stay my mother is looking forward to going back for her next rest.
Braefield is an excellent care home, dad was admitted for 1 week's respite. He settled in really quickly. The staff we found so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much to ask. The care he received was second to none. The manager was so approachable and very professional in her role. We would highly recommend Braefield. Keep up the fantastic work you do. Each one should be very proud.
Mother arrived at the home in November 2017 from hospital with problems with her chest and not walking. This home has brought her back to full health and walking short distances. Taking into consideration she is 104 years old. She still needs daily help as very little eyesight and hearing is very poor.
I find Braefield Nursing and Residential Care Home very good. I have been in different homes and none would meet the standard of Braefield. Staff are very welcoming, the home is very clean and fresh. Any complaints are dealt with immediately. In my opinion, Braefield should be the No 1 home.
My mother has been in Braefield for some time. Every time we visit we are greeted with a friendly welcome by the members of staff. Braefield has a homely atmosphere and all the residents are treated with kindness and dignity. When a resident is being difficult, the staff use humour to distract them from an awkward situation avoiding confrontation. We, as a family, are encouraged to see this happening.
I have found Braefield Nursing & Residential Care Home to have a customer-focused leadership providing a dependable base whereby residents needs are placed firmly to the fore. All staff work as a coherent team and each on an individual level is approachable and willing to listen to both residents and family alike. The interaction between staff and residents creates a warm, friendly, homely atmosphere which as a relative, provides comfort and reassurance that loved ones are well cared for. I have found staff react in a timely fashion to medical issues and action interventions as required. The home provides a range of activities supplemented with visiting entertainment where residents are encouraged to participate within their own particular comfort zone. Services such as admin, laundry, cleaning and maintenance work diligently in the background to add to the overall quality of the running of the home.
My dad was very ill when leaving hospital. He was admitted to Braefield and I, his daughter, could not find a superlative good enough for the overall experience he and our family have had. He is very happy and content and receives the dignified, wonderful care he deserves. Thank you from him and our family for this wonderful care.
My mother was kept in her room, isolated. She was only taken out when our family visited her daily, she was always alone otherwise. Some days on visiting I could have been sitting with my mother and not see any staff about for over an hour. I didn't like that the keypad number for the front door was stuck outside, anybody could enter the home. This is very unsafe.
My 79-year-old wife was diagnosed with dementia 4+ years ago and since then, she has been nursed in several care homes in the area with variable outcomes. Following her second bout of resuscitation treatment in hospital, we managed to get her a placement in Braefield Care Home. There she occupies a warm, spacious ensuite room, is always kept scrupulously clean and close to the nursing station, dining and recreation rooms. The staff are all pleasant, approachable and welcoming and attend to my wife's every need in a timely fashion. My wife is always well presented and has gained weight since reception. The dining room menu changes daily and staff are always on hand to help those who require it. Coded entry doors and sign in procedures ensure a safe environment. Braefield - a home from home where residents are treated with love, care and dignity.
