View Full Details of Dunanney Care CentreMy mother had serious mental and physical challenges and stayed here for a number of years. I can't speak highly enough of the manager and staff at this home. The home is fresh, clean and warm. Residents are treated with kindness, compassion and in a dignified fashion. Staff are highly competent and I have only good words to say.
We had such a good experience with the staff of Dunanney. From the moment the care manager met my father for assessment, to his placement and later his transfer we could only praise the staff of the home. My father spent just over a week in Dunanney, as a place came up in a home much closer to us. As this was his, and our first experience of care homes, it was quite a traumatic time for us. However, it was all made so much easier, by the kindness and professionalism of the manager and his staff at the home. Across the whole team, from the nursing staff, care assistants, and all the support staff, what sticks in our mind, is how all the staff were always friendly and smiling. They were also fully up to speed on his medical needs and treated my father with dignity and kindness. We are very appreciative that our first experience with a care home was so positive.
The manager is friendly and knowledgeable, she knows her residents and their needs. She goes above and beyond her statutory duties. The entertainer is a lovely young lady who tries to include all residents and addresses people very respectfully. The nursing staff are caring and professional, very willing to explain medications and my mum's condition and her needs. The care staff are hard working, well trained and very polite. The cleaners are dedicated to their role and its importance.
My father has been at Dunanney Care Centre for two years now and I have found the staff to be very professional and helpful at all times. The centre has had a new manager in the past few months and I have seen a noticeable difference in the care my father has got. The new manager is doing an excellent job. My father is very happy at Dunanney and is very well looked after.
I was very pleased with the care taken of my father-in-law in his final months of life. The home kept me very well informed about his care and health issues.
There have been many changes in staff over the last year. Sometimes I think there is too much reliance on agency staff at times and they don't have the knowledge about the residents. All in all, I think my mum is being well looked after. There were one or two occasions during winter months when Mum did not have any socks on. However, most of the time our mum seems content and well looked after.
Excellent staff, helpful, caring, listen and do for me everything they can. Special mention to the kitchen staff who never fail to ask me what I would like to eat. Helpful with showering, the room is always cleaned and tidied, could not have asked for any more, the staff and management have really made my experience the best they possibly could and accommodating my needs every opportunity they could.
Mum has been there I guess seven or more years. The staff are so lovely.
It was with some trepidation that my mother was admitted to Dunanney when she was discharged from hospital. It is her first time as a resident in a nursing home and we didn't know what to expect. Thankfully I can honestly say all our fears were put to bed the moment she had word she was moving. The manageress rang me twice to give me prior notice of her move and how a room, specialist bed and care had all been arranged for her. She also took time to reassure me of any fears or issues that go along when a loved one is admitted into nursing care. Currently, my mother is getting the kind of care and attention above and beyond what we thought a nursing home would provide. From a personalised plan to help with her meds to the simple act of a nurse putting her head around the door at the end of a shift to say goodbye. She is comfortable, safe and above all happy where she is and with the nursing care, the staff at Dunanney are providing her.
The management has changed this care home around and really cares for the residents. The service provided is excellent. Great nursing staff who genuinely care for the residents. They treat everyone with dignity and respect and are very supportive to family members. They provide an excellent menu service daily. We have had nothing but positive interactions with management and staff. I cannot thank you enough for everything that you do. 5-star service.
My mother has been a patient in Dunanney since May 2021, she is bedbound. She frequently tells family how well all staff treat her, this often involves general chat, time spent with her and friendly banter which she enjoys. She has mentioned the new manager by name which surprised us as she gets quite confused. She is very happy with the manager and all staff which is a great comfort to the family knowing how well she is being looked after. Her eating and drinking are a concern and being addressed by the staff.
Dad has been in Dunanney for just over a year now. He had spent some time in hospital and had been in a few respite homes before getting a permanent space in Dunanney after a spell in hospital over Christmas 2021. What a breath of fresh air and what a relief for me. The management and staff are all wonderful, I couldn't praise them highly enough. The home is clean and a very pleasant environment, my dad is extremely well cared for. Dad has dementia and is prone to choking, the staff manage this very well. In the past when he has needed to be admitted to hospital, they are always very good at keeping me informed, or letting me know if I need to come into the home and settle him. Dunanney have certainly taken a weight off my shoulders, I know he is in safe hands there, well cared for and has great interaction with all the staff, nurses and management. They also ran a group forum for relatives and management to provide updates and so any questions could be answered.
My first impression of Dunanney was positive and after chatting to the manager, It was obvious she cared. When my father was admitted, my first impression was confirmed. The residents are treated as individuals and their needs cared for. Their families are kept informed. The manager and staff are very kind and caring and most of all supportive. It gives you such peace of mind that your loved one is in good care.
The new manager lady has made such an impact on the building, greeting visitors and cleanliness. Seems more interested in getting more out of staff and their attitude towards care and nursing home residents. Last year, I would not have recommended this nursing home facility, but now, with such great improvements and the positive attitude of the new manager, I would now be happy for other relatives to reside here. The new manager is excellent.
After just three weeks of my partner being here, I am very pleased with the care he is receiving. Following the removal from another care home, I find here very good. I am informed of all matters relating to his care. The staff are more than helpful and listen to what I say, this is very useful and saves you feeling you are making a complaint. I find the food very good, the room and the rest of the home spotless. My concerns are taken on board and are very few. I go home from visits contented.
My dad has been in Dunanney Care Centre for a short time now and in that time I have seen a change in him for the better. He's well looked after and is clean and happy with the care he is given. The staff are very attentive to him and nothing is too much bother for them. They are very friendly, keep me well informed of his well-being and are very approachable. The manageress is a lovely person and just like the staff nothing is too much bother for her. I would recommend Dunanney without hesitation to anyone having to put their loved ones into care.
Both staff and management have done their best under very difficult circumstances. However, with renewed recent restrictions reimposed it's almost cruel for elderly people to be subject to more restrictions on their loved ones. Surely the owners of these care homes could develop a more friendly and user-centered regime for all concerned.
My parent has been in the Dunanney Care Centre for a few years now. Most of the time they are happy and content but in the last few months, they have had a few falls when no member of staff has been around. They are getting older and frailer and need more one on one care, which they do get. I haven't seen my parent much during Covid-19, but I have a few times and their hygiene could be better.
My mum has been in and out of the hospital a lot recently and I have always been kept updated on her condition. The same applied during the Covid outbreak and I was most grateful to the staff at Dunanney for this.
It's so lovely to see the sparkle back in my friend's eyes again. To all the staff for their continued kind caring and your contribution to that homely atmosphere, "thank you" doesn't express my full appreciation for all that you do every day.
