View Full Details of Fruithill Nursing HomeMy father has been a resident in Fruithill for the past 19 months. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff in the home. My dad is treated with the utmost dignity and respect by everyone and he is extremely content and comfortable in their care. Family and friends are made to feel welcome when visiting and communication from staff to family is first class. Thank you to all the staff for everything that you do. It definitely is a "home from home".
My mother went into Fruithill Nursing Home in April 2023 after a severe stroke. The whole experience was stress-free for us as a family and everything was explained very well. The home and staff are very experienced full of knowledge and most importantly the care my mother receives. Can’t recommend enough very caring and professional at all times.
Our father went into Fruithill Nursing Home June of this year. We as a family were very worried about him as he needed 24-hour care which we could not provide at home. Our father has come on leaps and bounds from he went into Fruithill, his mobility has improved greatly. He has been treated with dignity and respect and so much care. Staff meaning all from the carers/kitchen/maintenance/domestic/nursing and management and the lady who organises all the activities are absolutely fabulous. Fruithill has such a welcoming feeling from day one, it is one big happy Family. My father loves all the company, the staff are so caring and attentive. The home is spotless, there are always loads of activities going on for the residents. Our father has settled in brilliantly and he just loves it and he has made many friends in such a short time. It would be perfect if there was an outdoor heated sheltered area for winter. Thank you to all the wonderful staff of Fruithill.
My mother is very happy and content in Fruithill. All the care home assistance have a wonderful attitude when dealing with mum. They have great patience and kindness and do deal with her requests with patience and care.
My family member has been a resident in Fruithill for just over 2 years now. Staff are friendly, helpful, hardworking and interested. They welcome family involvement. The staff are compassionate and understanding. There are plenty of activities available.
A wonderful nursing home. My grandmother has absolutely thrived since moving to Fruithill, she is living her best life. The management and staff are so friendly and approachable! Such reassurance knowing granny is so happy in her new home.
My mother-in-law was a resident in the Home for 6 weeks awaiting a care package in the family home. She is 100 years old and in the 6 weeks she was a resident she was made to feel a real individual with her dignity maintained, aspirations met and made to feel welcome and part of the community in which she was living. During her respite, her medical, social and mental requirements were enhanced. My husband, his siblings and myself relaxed very quickly knowing she was in the best placement for the temporary stay. I have no doubt she would have settled well in the home as a permanent placement except my husband promised his father that mother would always have a home with us.
As a daughter of a permanent resident, I can certainly attain the level of care given to my mum. She has been a resident for the past nine years and my experience interacting with the staff has been exceptional. I live in Australia and try to get home each year, but with covid, my travels have been restricted. The manager and nursing staff have always kept me informed regarding mum’s health and well-being. With the assistance and caring nature of the staff, I feel comfortable and very content having them look after my mum. Fruithill Nursing Home is a home away from home.
As can be seen from my ratings in the various categories of the questionnaire which cover the last 6 months, but also since my sister entered Fruithill, this is due to the care and friendship she receives and that we witness first hand from everyone in management, nursing and caring. They are fully responsive to her needs and indeed to those of the family. They handled the unique covid challenges excellently and efficiently in providing a safe environment for her and her visitors. I am kept fully informed on my sister's circumstances which I find very reassuring. Thanks to everyone in Fruithill.
My sister-in-law has been a resident in Fruithill over the past 2 years. I can't speak highly enough about all the staff who provide wonderful care and are extremely professional, kind and courteous. In particular, the Manager and the Head Nurse who go the extra mile for my sister-in-law with her needs and continually keep us updated on her condition.
My granny was a resident in Fruithill Nursing Home throughout the COVID pandemic as her family were no longer able to take turns caring for her due to the government restrictions. This was difficult for everyone however, the team at Fruithill went above and beyond to make this transition in my granny's life as easy as possible. They embraced new technology to allow families to communicate with their loved ones on video calls, or make their office phone available for an evening chat. If you called ahead to say you were going to stand at a window to see my granny, they ensured they brought her to a place where we could see each other. Fruithill not only cared for their residents physically, but they also focused on the importance of mental wellbeing. It was great to see this as we can often think the older generation are resilient. Nearer the time when my granny passed, Fruithill ensured my family got to say their goodbyes. Throughout, they treated her with respect and dignity.
An extremely well-managed care home, that puts the care and wellbeing of the service user above all else. The staff treated my grandmother with the utmost respect and dignity. The communication, support and care shown to us as a family was unmeasurable, we are and will be forever extremely grateful.
I can't thank the staff enough for all their help and support during the last year in extremely difficult circumstances. The team were always friendly and helpful, keeping me fully informed of any statutory changes and extremely flexible during periods of change, meaning minimal impact on my family member during the pandemic in what they noticed compared to what was happening on the ground. Unfortunately, this year ended with loss but again, the team at Fruithill Nursing home couldn't have been better. They were fully supportive during and after. Thank you.
My mum is a recent resident to Fruithill Nursing Home due to her increased care needs. Although we weren't able to immediately visit my mum due to covid restrictions, we had regular updates regarding how my mum was settling in, sleeping and eating, which was reassuring for all of us. More recently we have been able to visit our mum and have seen a great improvement in her spirits. She is very relaxed when any member of our family calls for a visit. The staff can't do enough for us. We all feel our mum is getting well looked after. Fruithill staff always have plenty of time to listen and show compassion and care for my mum's wellbeing.
Warm and friendly care home with good communication. A clear focus on resident care and activities. Rooms are clean and spacious. Care home management very approachable with excellent nursing staff on the roster.
My husband was in Fruithill Nursing Home for eighteen months with final stage Parkinson's. He was initially very unwilling to take up residency in the home, but he settled after a few months. I found the staff to be incredibly caring. They related to my husband on a personal level, joking and chatting with him. The care he received was excellent. He could do nothing for himself, and the staff were very patient and gentle with him. They even rearranged his room so it looked more like a hotel room that one in a nursing home. After lockdown, the staff did all they could to facilitate me visiting him. The manager set aside a specially-cleaned room where I could visit my husband in private by appointment. The most important aspect of the home, aside from the basic cleaning, feeding and caring in general, was that the staff developed a personal relationship with him, making him feel special and loved. The nurses kept a close eye on him and called a doctor if required. I recommend the home!
My experience was very good. Staff were excellent and did their work with great help and efficiency. I do think at times they are very understaffed.
Fruithill, for the past 5 years, has been home to my father. He was treated with love, respect and dignity during this time, which was a great consolation to myself and family. The entire staff were excellent and showed him, and us, great respect at all times. The home was always welcoming and catered for all his needs. Cleanliness in the home was paramount and food was all home cooked and of excellent quality and variety. We were always kept up to date on his well being. Sadly he passed away in October 2019 and the staff, once again, are to be commended. We were all present at his passing away, at his bedside, and staff dealt with the removal of his remains in such a professional and sensitive manner. The dignity and hospitality shown to us as a family was a great comfort to us. We will be eternally grateful to Fruithill staff.
Since my aunt has entered this home I have found her care given by the staff to be excellent. They arrange away days which my aunt really enjoys. If I need information the staff are able to provide it.
A warm and friendly environment which does appear to be patient-centred. The staff working relationships appear to be good overall. As a healthcare professional of many years myself, I recognise the importance of good working relationships in delivering quality patient care. At times the home appears to be short of carers. The few issues I had were discussed with management, addressed and promptly rectified. As a family, we are very pleased with the care our mother receives. No care home is value for money.
