View Full Details of Glebe Care CentreMy nephew has been in this care home since 2022. The staff are what makes this care home and they deserve high praise. Staff are clearly caring and compassionate towards all their residents and my nephew is always treated with kindness and respect. Staff are always friendly and always make time for family members regardless of how busy they are. The staff at The Glebe are worth their weight in gold. With regards to the care home itself it has recently been taken over by St Ann's Unfortunately I have never been given the opportunity to engage with them which is disappointing and I would have welcomed some form of handover from them as the new owners to be informed of any future plans for The Glebe etc. Issues needing to be addressed by owners - An OT needs to be appointed urgently. Prices do not reflect accommodation. Modernisation required. No transport /minibus available to residents needs to be addressed. Funding to provide more activities/games and trips etc for residents.
The care staff that work with my brother appear to be compassionate. Any time I call for a visit they appear to be very friendly and can give me feedback on how my brother has been. It is great the staff take the time to take my brother out, I know it's something he has always enjoyed, going out for a walk with his condition. We are very limited in what activities he can do.
I really love this place, I have been all about the country, I used to not be able to walk. The occupational therapist is great, he is an amazing guy who does all sorts for me. My favourite nurse always listens to me.
My uncle's physical health has improved dramatically since moving to this care home. Staff are more attuned to his physical needs and condition and intervene quickly to mitigate the negative impact of the onset of any illness. In addition, my perception would be that his EHWB is also much improved as staff have taken time to get to know him as a person and to report appropriately ensuring they can meet his needs.
Management, nurses and care staff (in fact all staff) really demonstrate how care should be given. They are proactive and considerate when dealing with any issues that arise and I am kept informed and consulted when necessary. I have no hesitation in recommending this care facility. It has a lovely family atmosphere.
The staff are great, the services are superb and my son enjoys the experience.
My son has improved immensely since moving care homes, happy with staff and he seems very happy for only being 23 years old.
My sister and I are very happy with our brother's care. He has been in Glebe Care Centre since March 2020. All the staff are caring and helpful and seem to know our brother well. He has days where he is anxious and they are able to calm him on most occasions.
Very enjoyable gathering with other relatives. Able to air my opinions.
Got to knock. The food is good. Enjoy activities.
Very good in here.
My father has been in Glebe Care Centre for almost a year. He is brain damaged as the result of a fall and needs constant attention, as his behaviour can be erratic. The care staff have always kept me updated with his condition. They always show great patience with him, and genuinely care about trying to help him with his condition and making his life as good, and comfortable, as they can. I know he is in the best hands and I am very grateful for this.
My brother is well cared for in Glebe. The staff are excellent and very attentive to all his needs and requirements. He gets on well with staff and they always act in his best interests. The staff have been amazing during lockdown and being able to visit within current restrictions has meant a lot to my brother and his siblings.
The staff provide my dad with a caring home to live in. We, as a family, can't thank the staff and management enough. They are amazing.
I find everyone very friendly. Would prefer if rooms were bigger with an ensuite. With my husband confined to bed, he does not use all facilities due to his mobility, which is very concerning.
The staff are more than helpful; they make him as comfortable as possible. My father seems to have settled in well. Any issues are immediately reported to me or my sister. Unfortunately, my father is prone to falling, but when he does, he is handled with the utmost care.
My uncle has been a resident in this facility for over a year. Sadly due to brain injury and mental health issues, he presents his carers with very challenging and unpredictable behaviour. Generally, they treat him in a caring, dignified and kind way, my uncle enjoys the activities and is very content in his new home.
Generally been very happy with care/support by remarkably patient and attentive staff. My son is clearly very settled in this loving/caring environment and improves his own social skills with loads of encouragement to do so. Been visiting in 'post lockdown' period and delighted to do so with strict social distancing/masks and timing/supervision present. Well done.
My sister and myself are overall happy with my mother's care but were concerned when on March 11th 2020 we received a phone call to say my mother had fallen out of bed overnight and was in hospital. This was a concern as I signed a consent form in November 2019 for bed rails to be fitted and this was not done. Very unhappy about the owners of the home not providing any communication devices during lockdown.
My mother-in-law is well cared for in the Glebe. She gets on very well with the staff/carers, and they always act in her best interest. Good social activities help her to feel at home.
