View Full Details of Ashgrove Care HomeI am very happy with all the staff looking after my father. He seems very happy, and therefore, this makes all our family know that he is receiving all the help he requires.
Don't know how to put into words the gratitude myself and my family have for the staff of Ashgrove during the whole pandemic, they are all fabulous for the care they gave my mother. We have recently been allowed back in for a bedroom visit and it was so well organised. Thank you all.
Mum became a resident in Ashgrove in February 2021 following a hospital admission. She was made to feel very welcome and the level of care and kindness she has received has been excellent. She has settled very well and takes an active part in the activities, especially singing and dancing! Facilities appear very safe and cleanliness excellent. Staff have been wonderful in making her feel at home.
I found my experience very good.
Visited my father today, found it all easy. The staff were helpful and my father looked as well as can be expected.
The care my mother has received has been excellent.
Mum was admitted to Ashgrove Care Home in February 2021 and after some initial confusion, she settled in very well. The staff are all very helpful and welcoming and Mum seems to have a very good relationship with them all. The food seems very appetising and Mum is eating well. Her room is cosy and warm and I think Mum feels safe there.
My mother has been a resident here since 2018 and has always been treated with dignity, care and tenderness. Nothing is too much trouble for all the wonderful staff, who go above and beyond for their residents and the relatives. I would highly recommend Ashgrove Care Home.
My partner's mother has been in Ashgrove only for a few weeks but is thriving due to the care and attention from the staff. The move took place under very stressful circumstances for all involved, not least because of the coronavirus pandemic. All of the staff have been really lovely and it’s been a relief to know that my partner's mother is so well cared for.
I couldn't be happier with the care the staff have given my relative. I have just been able to visit for the first time since the lockdown due to Covid-19. My relative is happy and very relaxed, his appearance is just what I have come to expect, always well-groomed and clean. The staff are a godsend they have always put the residents care above everything. The activities are well organised and frequent.
My mum is coming up to her 1st year in Ashgrove Care Home and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she is receiving, the staff are second to none. She is kept lovely and clean, well dressed and well fed, her room is always clean and tidy. She has settled very well which is a great comfort to me. I am always kept well informed about her care.
My father is here. First-class treatment from all the staff. Thank you all.
I have only good experiences with Ashgrove. The staff are very helpful and patient. They really care about the residents and show great understanding in dealing with difficult illnesses. The new cafe at the front is great also. Overall Ashgrove staff are excellent and my mum gets great care from everyone.
My aunt has been a resident for just over one year. She has settled in really well. The staff are very friendly and always helpful if you have any questions or worries. My aunt always looks well cared for and happy with the other residents.
I believe it is very important to have continually employed nursing staff instead of agency staff. It is good to be able to approach a nurse that is familiar with your relative and their condition and I have experienced this with three nurses in particular. The team of carers are brilliant. They are both professional and a comfort to Dad. It is also good to have regular care members as staff.
I am very happy with the care given to my husband. Staff and management are excellent. Staff always have a smile and greeting for relatives. Relatives are kept informed of any incidents concerning their family member. Ashgrove have a very caring and happy workforce and this shows in the care of the residents.
A new manager has started and has changed the whole rota. My father has been a resident since October 2016. He settled well due to a range of familiar staff. He has built a relationship with certain members of staff who are extremely good to him. This was very comforting to all our family and we have got to know them as well. Now we go in and do not know the staff and the staff do not know us or my father and his needs. Surely when working with people with amnesia they need familiarity and continuity. This change of rota has been very unsettling for my father and family and staff. Also, I feel it is very unstaffed at times.
I had been relatively happy with this care home until recently. There have been many instances as a daily visitor that I have seen too few staff trying to look after too many residents meaning their basic needs are not being catered for. A number of staff shortages and at night visits I sometimes see only one nurse and one assistant trying to manage 20 residents or more. The last manager has left many weeks ago but her name is still listed in the building as the person to contact regarding complaints, but I have never seen her despite visiting every day. I am worried about the residents.
We appreciate that we can visit at any time. The staff are friendly and welcoming and have a good relationship with residents. However, in the last few months, there has been a change of management and staff. The staff that the residents were familiar with have been moved on and we are concerned this would have an adverse effect on residents. Current management are unfriendly and unapproachable.
I am very pleased with the care my mother receives in Ashgrove. She is always spotlessly clean and well groomed. The staff are all very caring and kind to not only my mother but to all the residents. As a frequent visitor to the home, the only real criticism I have is the shortage of care staff on the floor at times. More staff are definitely needed. Any problems I have are usually dealt with quickly and efficiently by the office staff, nurses or carers.
