View Full Details of Croagh Patrick Care HomeMy mum has been very happy here since she came in (initially for rehab) over 2 years ok. The care staff are all very friendly and listen to mum while taking care of her and all her needs. There are regular events both for residents only, such as quizzes, cinema afternoons, making cards etc. and also events where family and friends are welcome. These have included a harpist, 'Elvis', barbeques, choir visits and several others. I have always felt very much at home when visiting mum. Croagh Patrick Care Home is definitely a home from home.
The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. They helped my brother (42 years) to adapt to leaving his own home after our mother passed away. They provide a 'family' atmosphere which is wonderful to see. Always willing to help or advise and always very approachable. I have no worries or concerns that my brother's wellbeing is in great hands. Thank you for your care and support.
Everything seems satisfactory. Mum and family are quite happy of my mum residing here.
My father has mitochondrial disease which requires high levels of care as he is blind, hard of hearing and peg fed etc. The staff, even though they are under a huge amount of pressure, have been fantastic in their care of dad and always kind and friendly to us all as a family. It has been a blessing that the home allows us to bring the dogs in to visit dad as it is the highlight of his week and other residents also enjoy seeing them. The home is clean and tidy and all their washing is done. Management and all staff are approachable and helpful making visiting pleasant. His condition is clearly monitored and we are given regular updates. The only improvement would be that more staff are given training on dealing with hearing aids as he relies greatly on these.
A week's Respite Care was completed at this home in May 2024. This is my 2nd stay here. A comfortable stay with a varied choice of meals throughout each day at mealtimes. Staff are attentive and daily activities appear to take place on a regular basis. The gardens and surrounding area are pleasant and peaceful. The room was very pleasant with lovely sea views.
My 93 yr old mother has been in Croagh Patrick for over 3 years. In all that time, I have been very pleased with the care. The staff are excellent. Always do their work with a smile and are very caring to each resident. I also visit other relatives there on a "pets as therapy" basis with my dog and I see the same care given to each and every person. Excellent.
Both nursing and care staff within Croagh Patrick Care Home are conscientious, professional and caring. Well organised and thoughtful activities are regularly provided by a dedicated activity coordinator. Suitable and tasty meals are provided by hard-working kitchen staff and the home is kept clean and comfortable by helpful domestic staff. Management and admin staff are approachable and helpful. Well pleased and content that my mother has settled in well to this care home.
Mum has received excellent care in this home. Staff and management have been great. The food and overall standard is of a high quality. I would highly recommend for anyone who needs care etc.
I am extremely pleased with the care given to my father. The staff are very kind and are extremely vigilant regarding his physical health. The activities organised are good also for his mental and emotional health.
Staff try their best but more staff are needed, plus the food is bland and unappetising. More activities are required to stimulate the residents. The Wednesday trip to Donaghadee Community Centre was, for some of the others, the highlight of their week, yet it was stopped for lack of numbers. They were given a good dinner and entertained for an afternoon. Why has no one ever tried to get this going again?
Caring staff that provide a good service to residents and their families and help when required.
My mother is getting very good care from the time she arrived in March 2016. She has been very ill and the staff have looked after mum and her immediate family very well.
My 96-year-old father was in Croagh Patrick Care Home for 3 months . He moved there having suffered a subdural haematoma and also suffering from dementia. We found the manager to be kind, approachable and very compassionate. It gave us great confidence which was confirmed when we got to know the staff. At all times we experienced kind and caring staff who maintained respect and dignity for my father and did everything they could to make sure he was comfortable and content. They were very responsive to any requests and good at listening and acting on any concerns. The carers were unfailingly pleasant, caring and helpful. The home was kept spotlessly clean by ladies who were also interested in my dad and would have had a little chat with him. Overall we were very pleased indeed with the care my father received in Croagh Patrick and want to thank all the lovely staff there who made this stay a very good experience both for him and for us. Our thanks also to a wonderful manager!!
Clean nursing home, lovely grounds. Client's room clean and he is washed and well looked after. Food average but he likes it. Mother also was a resident here. Very friendly staff.
Very good, kind, attentive staff. Only problem I see is evenings when the changeover reduces staff. More staff needed for bedtime as buzzers go constantly. They are under a lot of pressure and do their best.
My mum was admitted from hospital roughly five weeks ago. She has an in dwelling catheter (has had four years) and suffers from UTI almost constantly. She is on permanent oxygen and her short term memory is not good. From the very beginning I can honestly say that everyone of the staff have been fantastic in their care, compassion, empathy and understanding, both for mum and us the family. They have made a very difficult and upsetting time much easier for us and we are only too pleased mum is in Croagh Patrick home particularly amazing.
