View Full Details of King's Castle Private Nursing HomeMy mother moved into King's Castle in early May. It was extremely difficult to find a home offering our family any sort of reasonable visits however from our first contact with the manager our worries and concerns were addressed and as a family, we have been made so welcome and after 6 weeks we know we made the right choice as mum settled in from day 1 and it is simply a joy to see the care and support they provide for her whilst allowing us to maintain regular contact with her. Staff are so lovely and I often witness them interacting with residents in a most caring way. Coming from a large family the difficult transition from her own home into long-term care has been handled with care and respect by the team at King's Castle and I know that we have been so lucky in finding this new ‘home’ for our mother. I would happily recommend to anyone.
My mother was admitted to King's Castle for end of life care. Even though there were COVID restrictions in place the staff went out of their way to allow us as much access as possible to our mother's bedside. We were able to be with her in her final days which has given us enormous comfort. The staff were exceptional in the care and compassion shown to our mother and to us, and they all seemed to enjoy being part of the team. As a retired nurse myself, I was so impressed by the nursing leadership shown which was evident in the professional and compassionate attitude of the staff. My mother passed away with dignity, without any pain and peacefully, with her family by her side, an experience we will never forget and be forever grateful.
During my stay here, there is not one person I could single out. Everyone did their utmost to ensure that I was looked after, and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you so, so much to each and everyone working here. Highly recommended to anyone looking to stay here.
This is a very welcoming place, the qualified staff are extremely professional and nursing assistants and all other staff are friendly to visitors, kind, patient and tolerant to clients, especially my husband. He enjoyed his stay at King's Castle, even though he was quite weak and ill on arrival. He enjoyed the company of others especially other male residents and the care given to him. It was excellent.
My elderly mother was admitted to King's Castle following her wish. The staff, from senior management down to Auxiliary care, were extremely helpful and flexible in their care of my mother from day 1 right up to the time she was admitted to hospital for her final days. The staff were professional but always kind and thinking in their interactions with my mother - to the extent that my mother asked to be returned from hospital to King's Castle for the kindness she received there.
My mother became extremely ill at the end of December 2018. The staff of King's Castle provided her with the highest standard of care possible, right until her death in January 2019. Not only did they look after mummy so well but the support for us, her family at this difficult time was tremendous. The kindness and love shown for mummy overwhelmed us. I highly recommend King's Castle if someone you love needs nursing care.
My aunt has been a resident in Kings Castle since October 2018. Since that date, I have been very impressed with the care, compassion, kindness and support she has received. My aunt has spoken on several occasions about how happy she is in Kings Castle. There is always a warm, friendly atmosphere in the home and staff are always engaging with residents. Our visits are always encouraged and, we as family, made to feel very welcome. Staff are always available for a chat and update. I have noted on several occasions the very respectful way staff engage with residents. I would like to thank the staff and management for the care they have given and continue to give to my aunt.
My mother was admitted to King's Castle in November 2018 with end-stage dementia she was immobile and required total nursing care, unfortunately, her condition deteriorated after Christmas and she died on 9/1/19. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention she receives from all staff. The home has a wonderful homely feeling, it is professional and approachable. I would not hesitate to recommend King's Castle to others.
One off, a good care home, I would say its got better and I would like to thank all the staff that looked after my Grandmother on her respite and hope all the staff the best. Very clean and nice home.

Staff very good and helpful and there was a good family feel about the nursing home. Pity mummy had to move recently to another home but it was closer to us for visits. As a family, we were very happy with King's Castle Home.
Since my mum has arrived in King's Castle the care she has received has been first class the staff are so caring the surroundings are fresh and clean. My mum is happy and content. I have no problems recommending King's Castle.
Mums wishes was to be nursed at at home, unfortunately that wasn't possible. The care and attention she received was excellent from all grade of staff. She required a syringe driver to control her pain from Ischaemic leg, she was nursed in home and as a family we were able to stay with her until she died. As a family we appreciated the kindness and love shown to mum. It was a well run nursing home and the staff were friendly and helpful. All the patients were looked after. I would have no hesitation recommending it and would be happy if required to be a patient myself.
My mother moved to above home in February 2013, followed by my father in April 2013. They lived in a new wing of the home in single rooms. The rooms are beautiful with authentic looking front doors. The beds are high/low with bed rails if required and pressure relieving mattress. The rooms are en-suite with TV's. Unfortunately my dad became very ill, and died in February 2014. His care was exemplary. My mother has dementia and is well looked after causing me less stress as I live in England.
