View Full Details of Blanchelande Park Nursing & Residential HomeExcellent service, meeting my aunt's needs.
Kind, efficient staff, caring environment. Pleasant communal areas. Good food.
High standard of care. Friendly and helpful. Individuals' needs considered. Happy family atmosphere.
I took up residence at Blanchelande Park Nursing & Residential Home on 27th February 2024 on a semi-temporary basis pending my recovery from cancer. I was very well welcomed on the day of arrival and immediately helped to settle into my room which is perfectly comfortable, practical and clean. The staff have always been very helpful, attentive and caring.
Having lived in Guernsey for forty years, when I retired, my wife and I moved to Spain for seventeen years. My wife died last year and my elder son became my carer as I am unable to walk and in a wheelchair. When my son died, I moved back to Guernsey and my first time in a care home. The staff could not have been more welcoming and the room and food are really excellent. With my second son and five grandchildren free to visit at any time, I feel I have made the right decision to come here.
I stayed for two weeks following an operation on my hand. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, it was like a 5-star hotel. The food was excellent. The staff, all the staff were marvellous. Lots of entertainment such as films to watch, exercises, painting and more! I also enjoyed the quizzes and had my hair cut! I managed to have a walk in the beautiful grounds.
I would recommend Blanchelande to anyone.
This is a friendly caring home where residents are treated like family. Comfort food is excellent and the residents have a close relationship with staff. Medical treatment where necessary is readily provided and interests/hobbies of residents are well catered for.
Staff are professional, friendly, and respond appropriately when needed. It is comforting to know that my father is in safe hands now that he can no longer look after himself.
The nurses and carers are always ready to talk and discuss my mother's health. They take care to ensure her comfort and wellbeing. Although being in a care home was never anything my mother ever wanted, I do believe she has received the best care possible.
I am very content here. The carers are extremely kind and considerate. I know I am unable to continue living alone, so am very happy to be living here.
Overall, I am very happy with the care which my mother is receiving. Staff vary, but again, overall, they are caring and kind. The nursing staff are excellent and were outstanding during my mother's bout of severe ill-health. The administrative staff are friendly and helpful.
My aunt has been a resident at Blancheland Park for the past 9 months and has been shown such kindness by all of the wonderful staff. She now feels safe and secure and constantly sings their praises. She thoroughly enjoys all of the outings and activities and is happier than we could have hoped for, having recently lost her beloved husband. We are contacted whenever the staff have any particular concerns and know that we don't need to worry about her as her every need is catered for there. I cannot recommend Blancheland Park highly enough.
My mother has been a resident at Blanchelande Park for almost three and a half years, during which time her nursing needs have increased. She celebrated her 100th birthday in January and was made to feel very special. The cooks made an amazing cake for her. The staff could not be more helpful or friendly and Mummy is treated with a perfect combination of respect and friendship. I have no hesitation in recommending Blanchelande.
Very pleasant home.
My wife and I first chose Blanchelande as the nursing home to take care of our mothers when it was first opening. Both mothers have been in other nursing homes before this home 18-years ago had a very excellent ethos in looking after elderly people, both as residents and nursing. The standard hasn't changed. The care is superb and full of understanding, treating each resident with dignity, whatever the person's issues are. So when the need to chose a nursing home for my wife to reside while we have alterations to our home, we were happy that they had a room available. The current staff have continued the special caring standard, which is due to the fact that a number of staff looked after our mother, treating her as a friend. We are also aware that some other members of the original staff have moved on to become matrons of other nursing homes in the area.
My Mother was a resident for over 3 years. The service and care she received was second to none and my Sister and I, who live in the UK, never had a moments doubt about her comfort. The word excellent does not do justice to the way my Mother was looked after.
Friendly, attentive first name relationship. Admitted following heart valve surgery. Clean, pleasant, inviting environment. Well staffed for all branches of attention. Excellent food and varying menu. The clientele by nature being elderly/often confused are very well cared for. A constant attention to safety is obvious.
I have been staying in Blancheland Park now for many weeks and to me, it's like being in a 5 star hotel. The help I get is great, the staff, carers and helpers are always there when I need them and the food is super. I cannot think of anything more Blancheland can do for me. Everyone is so kind and thoughtful.
'Blanchelande Park Nursing & Residential Home' is set in beautiful gardens with views out to sea through the pine trees. This rural and tranquil picture sets the scene for a most caring, warm atmosphere within the house. Nothing is too much trouble - day or night- help is just a push of a button away and residents are encouraged to use all the help available. Cleanliness was paramount, residents always looking nicely dressed and happy. Food is excellent, very varied choice and always nicely presented.
