Kenton Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 3EE
View Full Details of Kenton HallKenton Hall has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff who are approachable and lively. Just what the residents need. Since my mother has been there, while it was a difficult transition to start with, being an independent lady, she enjoys it. Lovely garden, lots of activities, a hairdresser, sing-alongs, communal dining room and lounge, she has a good opportunity for socialising.
Our relative was in Kenton Hall, she had a lovely bedroom on the ground floor. Staff and management were very friendly and caring and looked after her to the end. They welcomed us as family, day or night, and looked after us as well. I would recommend Kenton Hall to anyone.
Our auntie was in Kenton Hall for over a year. She was cared for and looked after professionally, courteously and most of all lovingly. The staff and management were brilliant and very accommodating to us as her family. I would recommend Kenton Hall to anyone.
Our sister resided in Kenton Hall for over a year, the staff cared for her very professionally, courteously and most importantly lovingly. All staff and management were very accommodating to us as a family and we thank them for that. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kenton Hall to anyone.
Leaving my husband at Kenton Hall on his first day was one of the hardest things I have experienced. However, after two weeks he has settled well. The staff, without exception, have been helpful and caring. Nothing is a bother and the phrase 'you are welcome' is a common response to thanks for their helpfulness. The premises are beautifully clean and the rooms attractive and comfortable. There is a comprehensive programme of activities, with something to suit everyone. I am so glad that we decided on Kenton Hall for my husband, whose nursing and social needs are being met.
After a very unhappy experience in a previous care home, it was a relief to get Mam into Kenton Hall Care Home. The manager has always been very supportive and happy to listen to any concerns. Staff are very kind and caring, even the kitchen staff have put themselves out for Mam. Mam's room is kept incredibly clean, as are her clothes. Kenton Hall has lovely gardens. The only negative, it's often difficult to get small jobs done but not the end of the world.
Since my mother was admitted to this home, her care has been outstanding. Although she stays in her room and reads. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and there is always somebody around to help and answer questions. I highly recommend Kenton Hall and my mother loves it, 100%.
My lovely mam needed to have residential care as she could not be looked after at home. Myself and my husband looked at Kenton Hall first and were very impressed by the warm welcome of the staff. We took Mam to look at it and she liked it. She was allowed to take some of her own furniture to help her settle in. The manager is very approachable as are all the staff nothing is a problem. Sadly after 3 weeks, Mam's health deteriorated due to her heart failure and her age of 99. As she only had a few days left I was allowed to stay overnight with her and was looked after and supported by all the staff. Everyone was very kind and kept an eye on Mam. If I had to leave the room someone would sit with her. Sadly, Mam passed away on 3rd December. Myself and my husband can not thank the staff, from the cleaners to the manager, for the care given to Mam and the support given to us. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. Well run lovely staff good food. Thank you
My father has suffered a severe stroke, is now unable to mobilise but is still able to speak and has reasonably good cognition. Since entering Kenton Hall he has been on two trips into the community, which he really enjoyed recounting to the family, and he has made several friends with whom he can sit and have some discourse. The staff are polite and attentive to his needs. They respect his wishes but encourage him to leave his room and engage with others. He enjoys reviewing the weekly activity sheet and joining in when he can - particularly the Pat dog and bingo - in which he has won a prize! His friends are comfortable visiting him in this facility and they and other family members have also, independently, commended to me the staff's attitude towards both them and him in their presence. They are polite and respectful and there is a good family atmosphere amongst them, which is management-led. I would, and indeed have, recommend this home to others, who have also placed family here.
It broke my heart to make the decision to place our lovely mam into care. Would staff look after her like I wanted her to be looked after? After careful consideration and touring of the suitable care homes to fit mam's needs, we chose Kenton Hall, Newcastle. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and not only was I impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the food, daily activities, cleanliness of all areas, the well kept gardens and the social interaction gave me the assurance that I know mam is in good hands. We still visit mam daily and are welcomed every time. The staff are open to all comments and I know for the short time mam has been a resident, she is settled and happy.
Kenton Hall is a pleasant care home with friendly staff. It is set in pleasant grounds with flowers and a fish pond with attractive koi fish. The staff have built strong relationships with their service users. Kenton Hall has a strong group of music and current days enjoying the memories eg, V-Day. Food is pleasant here and showed off excellent meals.
My mam was admitted to this care home from the hospital, previous to admission a pre-assessment took place with the manager from the home at the hospital. I and both my sisters were present at the pre-assessment and of course my mam. The manager was advised and fully informed of my mams current health conditions and her needs. At the pre-assessment, as a family we requested a pressure mat as my mam was a high falls risk, to cut a long storey short this pressure mat was only put in place after 17 falls over a period of four days, in fact, on one occasion the care staff were unaware of one fall until my sister called the home to get someone to help as luckily my mam could reach her phone to ring my sister. Due to this home's failings, we had to take my mam out to ensure her safety.
Mam went to Kenton Hall in a fragile state, mentally and physically. She was there for 5 months, with the care, kindness, patience and support they gave her and us. We now have Mam home but to be honest we think she is missing everyone and may be returning there.
My mother was poorly and underweight when she entered the home last August. We brought her home on Monday 3rd February 2020. The care has been really good and the staff caring. We would use the home again for respite care. Also, mum wants to visit her friends.
Care at all times was compassionate. Everyone tried their very best for our aunt, to make her safe and comfortable.
My mother has been in Kenton Hall for 4 years. There were teething problems but she has now settled well. Her mobility has improved vastly and although she has poor short term memory, she is happy and interacts well with other residents and staff. When we have raised concerns there has been a positive response. My siblings share my appreciation of the care provided for our mother.
My mother appears to be settled and accepts she is now in a home. Our family are happy with her care and it is good to know that she is cared for 24 hours a day. We like her taking part in activities which she enjoys.
As my sister who is a patient has only been in the home for about 12 months. I, as a brother, only visit once a month. I can not really be able to give an honest opinion as I only visit her room. I have not seen any of the services that the staff do!
Mam had to go into a care home with nursing care at 94 years old. She has lived in her own home before a fall. Kenton Hall made her extremely comfortable with a great welcome. All of mam's many needs have been met wonderfully. Now all her own photos and home items are there. Meals are wonderful, entertainment is very varied.
Our mum resides in Kenton Hall at present and will be receiving end of life care whilst there as she was admitted after returning to the northeast with an illness whilst residing in South. As a Registered Manager myself in a home in Somerset, I travel frequently to visit but the girls do a fantastic job and nothing is too much trouble. There is a new manager in post whom we’ve yet to meet yet as staff inform me a few of them haven’t met their new manager yet so I can’t comment on the current Management but the previous manager was very effective and reactive when I had any questions. It is for ours and that’s a credit to the hard work of the carers day in and day out. Mum has lasted 3months longer than she was originally given but still the staff display empathy, calm and also a sense of humour when attending to mum's needs. We are always greeted with a smile and a “hello”. Thank you to the whole team.
