I have been attending Meadows Day Centre for the past two years. I originally got 1-day a week, which was great. As I am a widow, I find life very lonely most times. Occasionally I was offered a second day which I really enjoyed as well. I am a sociable person and enjoy the company of other people. Our day starts with a cuppa, followed by some gentle exercises. The staff, who I might add, are all very helpful then divides us into groups according to what we like to do. Some may go reminiscing which is useful to bring people out of themselves, talking about the past and various aspects of the past. Others may prefer some games, dominoes or cards. All keep the mind active. On occasions, we would have a quiz, which is always thoroughly enjoyable. There are other activities as well for some of the clients. I would really recommend this facility for anyone who wanted a different scene for a few hours a week. Lunch is provided each day at a nominal cost with different choices each day.
