Our dad lives in the Brendoncare Mary Rose Mews and manages to live as independently as possible because of the wonderful support he is given from the Bendoncare staff. They provide meals in his flat, do regular medication visits and also provide a carer escort service to medical appointments. Not only that but they lend an ear and a cup of tea when needed! They're also extremely approachable for us and keep us posted on any concerns and medical updates.
When our dad was unwell and unable to care for himself in the summer, Brendoncare Mary Rose Mews was happy to offer respite care. Within a couple of hours, they had arranged a room for him and he had transitioned smoothly into their care - despite it being a Sunday. They arranged regular visits from the GP and provided great nursing care. They were flexible with the length of his stay, reviewing it week by week. As his health improved, he was given more independence and when he was ready to move back home, they assessed him in his flat and helped him to transition back. We were very happy with the care from Brendoncare and thoroughly recommend them.
Since my parents moved into a flat in Brendoncare Mary Rose Mews, all our lives have become so much easier. All the staff are professional, cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy and we hold all the staff in high regard. The care given is exemplary. The services on offer are great and there are also plenty of activities available to join in if you want to. The community feeling is warm and friendly and feels very safe. We have all got more peace of mind knowing they are in the right place for them.
The domiciliary care for Mum was outstanding in the flats. Her daily care needs were met. Staff were patient and kind especially when her husband fell and broke his hip resulting in him going to hospital. They helped her transition to the home. They coped with her demands at times caused by extreme anxiety but always showed kindness.
My parents moved into a close care flat in October 2022. It offers them independence with support on hand if needed. A comprehensive assessment of each of their care needs was undertaken shortly after they moved in and reviewed in response to their changing needs. The close care staff are professional, friendly and understanding. Regular, timed care visits are arranged. The team have been flexible in responding to my father’s increasing care needs and use of mobility aids, including arranging staff training with new equipment to ensure his needs are supported. A member of the team is available 24/7 for emergencies, each flat has a call alarm system. There are regular social gatherings in a shared common room. Just across the car park in the nursing home, there is a lovely cafe-restaurant open to all. Maintenance of communal areas and gardens could be improved but is acceptable. Security is being reviewed following a recent incident but each flat has a spyhole and door chain.
My father spent time in a respite bed. The atmosphere in the home is welcoming and friendly. His room was clean and comfortable and the care staff were attentive and relaxed. Communication and updates from the staff were very good while visiting and also via phone. Nursing staff were happy to discuss his condition and deal with any questions.
Our Mum had a ground floor flat in Brendoncare Mary Rose Mews. Although this provided her with independence, the close care team provided excellent support with the provision of meals and personal care and were always on hand to help with any household issues which Mum encountered. This provided peace of mind for everyone. When Mum's health deteriorated she was transferred to a specific care unit in Brendoncare where she received wonderful care. The family were particularly impressed with the very professional and caring manner of the nursing team in Mum's final days of her life.
