The care and compassion my dad has received over the past 2 months has surpassed my expectations greatly. Dad has a habit of trying to escape hospitals, care homes etc. He just wanted to get home, but he has not tried to leave Harriet Court once. He was helped to settle in from day 1. The staff are all so wonderful, so caring, compassionate, helpful and always chatty and happy. Management made the move so easy and again, so so helpful.
Very good care home, very good staff. One disappointment is we were told we were to receive new carpets and my father has had to move into his property with dirty carpets there is a lack of communication on when the carpets will be fitted, this is not the care home's fault this is from the council.
We as a family would like to express our thanks to all. The staff for the wonderful care and attention given to our Mum following a neurological episode she had in February. Her carers were amazing and also all the staff were very mindful of her needs so good at keeping the family informed and reassured. We are very grateful and fortunate to have such a lovely place for Mum to live and for us to know she is safe. Thank you.
Don't seem to have much activities over the last three and a half years. I know covid hit but residents had to stay on their own which is not good for mental health. Cleaning hit and miss, carpets dirty. Some days I come and Dad's not washed or showered. Some staff work hard, some don't. Dad's flat only tidy when I'm visiting as my family went and it was very dirty. Need new staff that love caring. Hope this gets better, used to be 100%, it's not now.
Since moving to Harriet Court my mother is so much happier than she was. She has access to outside via her own patio door and also has access to a lovely garden. The flat is well set up for an elderly person or someone with disabilities. Carers are constantly popping their heads round to door to check Mum and do anything she asks. In fact, the carers are lovely as are the restaurant staff who provide Mum with a fresh hot meal every day. I am so thankful to all the staff and it has taken a great burden off my shoulders. I can now visit Mum and enjoy my time with her rather than trying to get all the jobs done.
My dad has only just moved to Harriet Court (poppy unit). It is hard to get to know their likes, dislikes and personality. I have found some areas of care not acceptable. On several occasions, personal care not provided and my Dad has been sitting on a chair with no protection (pad) and clothing wet. Due to dementia, this can be hard to encourage him, however, I think sometimes it's the different approaches that are used that may be resulting in not being able to get him to consent. My dad however is very happy living here and loves his flat. Dur to Covid 19 I feel their protocol and procedures are excellent which is encouraging and makes me feel safe.
Since my dear friend, a 90-year-old lady, moved to Harriet Court four months ago, her life has been transformed. She was trapped in a first floor flat, unable to negotiate the stairs She could not maintain her home to her own standards. We were so lucky to get a place at Harriet Court, in a light, bright, freshly decorated ground floor flat. All credit to the staff who have taken time to rebuild her confidence. She loves her daily shower, trips to the visiting hairdresser and enjoys a delicious hot lunch every day. The carers take care of her laundry and ironing. I have persuaded her to use a Rollator and now she is building her muscles, her stability and whizzes around the corridors. We have taken one trip out, with more planned. She is particularly fond of a senior carer, and unexpectedly a male carer who is a tonic to her. She loves to watch and feed the squirrels. She is now a feisty, amusing character and happy in this lovely home, surrounded by a whole new family.
The staff at Harriet Court are amazing, they are so caring, kind and patient. I cannot speak highly enough of how they have looked after Mum, helped her to settle in and made her feel at home. Mum raves about the quality of the food and I would 100% recommend Harriet Court to friends, family and anyone that needs similar care or treatment.
Harriet Court is a well run caring environment. All staff go above and beyond to support their tenants. My mum loves the food and the care she gets and is always telling me they make her feel special. The cleaners keep my mum's flat spotless. Any concerns about my mum they ring me and leave nothing to chance. Wouldn't want my mum to live anywhere else.
Harriet Court is very clean and well looked after with a very friendly, good team of carers and other staff. My dad is very happy and well looked after and I have put my dad in such a lovely place. The restaurant is lovely, clean, well run and my dad loves his dinners there.
Can't recommend this enough. It has everything Dad needs, care, support and a feeling of being in control in your own home. Above all, knowing Dad is safe and well looked after is paramount.
Our mother has recently moved to Harriet Court. She feels safe being there and is as happy as she can be in her circumstances. Her flat is lovely, well kept clean and tidy. I especially like the way it has been decorated and refreshed for her arrival. My mother and my family find the staff to be very good, professional and always keen to help.
I find the management and staff friendly and helpful which makes for a very happy home for my mother. I think more staff would be better. The meals sometimes need a bit more thought and a change of menu would be welcomed. Otherwise extremely happy.
Mum has lived at Harriet Court for 12 months. We feel that she has settled in well although not quickly she had made one good friend a resident and has been encouraged to spend time with her. The staff are excellent and the manager is wonderful so the caring attitude probably cascades. One minor criticism would be lovely if staff could occasionally put a hoover over the floor.
