View Full Details of Barton MewsBarton Mews is a very secure, clean and modern environment to live in. The staff are very polite and caring which leads to a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and, without hesitation, I would recommend Barton Mews to family and friends.
I am very lucky to have Barton Mews so close by because Barton Mews provides a standard of life to its residents that would simply not be possible in either their own or a fully provisions care home. The concierges are brilliant, without them the whole place would not tick - literally, nothing is too much trouble, they really do care. The hotel-style offerings really help. To have the feel of your own home but with the security, support and importantly, community of Barton Mews around them is a fairly unique and helps make it a wonderful place. Some of the apartments are bigger and better than others. At 15 years old, most of the apartments are ready for a little updating but this is the responsibility of the owners and not Barton Mews. It is very important to highlight that Barton Mews would not work without the care providers who operate within but as a totally separate entity. The whole concept needs them in order to work and Forget Me Knot are, in particular, simply incredible.
Since the first time I came to Barton Mews for an interview, I have been so happy. I was put at ease by the manager, who explained everything to me about Barton Mews. I was given a tour round and taken to speak to some residents who were at 'knit and natter'. I was made very welcome and offered a cup of tea. I really felt that I would be very happy here. Since moving in I have been made welcome by staff and residents. I have made some lovely friends. The staff are so good.
Mum was one of the first to move into Barton Mews. For six months she came every Thursday for the day, until the family home had to be sold. Within the next few weeks, it was hard to get her to leave. The staff were so wonderful, helping her to settle in and realise how wonderful the complex was and still is. She arrived aged 80 years and thrived for years, loving her extended family, until at 92 years it was time for her to leave us. Only due to their standard of care and love for all their residents did we find out from them that the care package put in place by the hospital was not being delivered to cater for Mum's needs. Due to their liaison with us we were able to get this rectified, ensuring that Mum's final days were pain-free and happy, with a team who go that extra mile for all those in their care. If you are thinking of bringing a loved one to Barton Mews, be assured they will be cared for by the highest standard you could possibly wish for, from a team who you will come to think of as your extended family.
Barton Mews has been a thoroughly excellent place for my parents to live when they were unable to carry on their independent lives in London. The quality of the service from management and concierge staff has been inevitably first-class over a number of years. Also, I would like to compliment the kitchen and restaurant staff, altogether first-class.
Having visited friends in a number of these homes, all I can say is Barton Mews is quite outstanding, I cannot praise it enough. The staff are always cheerful and helpful and cannot do enough to help the residents. I have visited my sister at least twice every week and regularly had meals here so this is a long-term observation.
We have been so impressed from day one with the care and service provided by Barton Mews Care apartments. Not only has my mum settled in quickly but she has already found new friends in the other residents and the kind and caring staff that work tirelessly there. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum feels safe, secure and happy. She is thoroughly enjoying the food available and the opportunities to socialise within the apartment's recreational spaces. Knowing that she has someone on call 24 hours a day gives us and Mum real peace of mind and we are so pleased that we picked Barton Mews for Mum to live in.
The staff at Barton Mews Care Home are simply amazing. Their caring attitude really shows in how they treat the residents. They go above and beyond what is their job. Always having a chat and stimulating the residents. The manager and staff make you feel like we are all part of the family. So nice, 100%.
Since moving into Barton Mews last December, I have been very happy. The apartment is excellent, and the staff have been more than helpful and always extremely kind. They say they are happy to work here. I would recommend Barton Mewa to anyone considering this type of accommodation.
My experience has been very positive and more than exceeded my expectations.
I joined Shaw Healthcare at Barton Mews in April 2023. After 36 years in my own home, this was a big move for me but I am pleased to say it already feels like home! The team here are fantastic, very supportive and good company.
First class activities, staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble, helpful, kind and reliable. Rooms first class, warm and comfortable. The food is excellent, a pleasure to be here.
My parents have just moved into Barton Mews Care Home and our early impressions are excellent. From our first viewing of flats through to moving in, all staff have been wonderful, treating my parents with kindness and dignity. The culture established by the manager and team is clearly one of getting to know residents well and understanding their different needs. There is a clear determination to move forward, following the limitations imposed by Covid, and to restart a programme of more activities and opportunities for residents to meet and interact. The facilities are immaculate and well-maintained. The meals in the restaurant smell delicious and staff going round to take meal orders in the mornings makes it so easy for residents to get the food they enjoy. Little things, like the figure of the soldier on the external wall to commemorate remembrance, really make the facility feel like part of the community. Above all, I am already totally confident that my parents will be safe, secure and well supported at the Mews which has removed a huge stress from my family.
I would recommend Barton Mews to anyone looking for a home where they will be safe and genuinely cared for. The staff go the extra mile for all of the residents, especially in this year's hot summer. I can rest assured that my mum can live independently but with someone on hand if needed - 24/7. Thank you, Barton Mews!
My mum had lived independently until the age of 90 when she began to suffer with ill health and needed some help. She moved to Barton Mews at the age of 94 and it is the best thing we ever did. Although she moved away from her friends, she soon made new ones and participated in activities that she enjoyed. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who were always kind, caring, helpful and respectful particularly when mum came home after several bouts in hospital. They work exceptionally hard to provide a cheerful and happy environment.
During my mother's residence at Barton Mews, she has been looked after well by friendly caring staff. COVID has brought many problems for all of us but I felt mum was safe. Many thanks to all the staff.
Excellent care during the pandemic and before taking every step possible to keep everyone safe. The concierge team are always polite and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Consistency is key, "Mum does not like change". (The problems for us arose when care went to an outside agency. We needed double up calls which were difficult to accommodate initially).
My mother was extremely well cared for while at Barton Mews. The staff were always friendly and helpful. My mother was very happy there.
Barton Mews is being refurbished at the moment. I have settled, happily, into my flat. I have it the way I want it and it is comfortable and warm. It is good to know that someone is available at all times and the staff are friendly and helpful. I look after myself and find the kitchen adequate for my needs, though the high shelves can not be reached by me. There are few activities going on at the moment because of Covid but I'm impressed by the way we were protected from the virus making sure we were all safe from the beginning of lockdown.
We needed mum to move out of her bungalow into an extra care apartment to make life easier for her. She was also near to family in Barton Under Needwood. Staff always friendly and professional. Mum felt safe and happy at Barton Mews. Covid restrictions always adhered to. Activities ceased due to Covid mum missed mixing with residents and activities.
