View Full Details of Steeple ViewI came here in February 2023. I like living here. The carers are very helpful. I do use a wheelchair and have a problem to reach things in the kitchen. It would be lovely to have a chef here. My experience of Steeple View is good.
Whilst visiting the scheme over the Xmas period, management and staff tried really hard to make this an enjoyable time for the residents. The scheme was very warm and welcoming and it seemed that everyone was having a good time. Xmas music was playing and it looked very festive with the tree and decorations. (They even had icicles outside). The scheme doesn't feel like a care home, everyone is so friendly and helpful.
Steeple View Care Home is an absolute gem. We were delighted to obtain a flat for our mother, who has early onset Alzheimer's, one year ago. She is happy and very well cared for in every respect and we can relax in the assurance that she has 24-hour care and attention. As others mention, Steeple View is modern, light and bright, and does not have the typical 'air' of care homes. The staff (senior management, carers, admin team and caterers) have been unfailingly pleasant and helpful from day one. They appear to be a very stable team, with little change of staff over the past year. The caterers provide superb lunches in the communal dining room, which gives an opportunity for socialising. We are extremely pleased with all the care and attention provided. E-mails and enquiries are responded to immediately, including those sent during evenings and weekends. We highly recommend Steeple View, you will not find anything better in the area.
My mother has been living at Steeple View for ten months and is happy living there. I think the environment is very clean and pleasant and the staff are very helpful and approachable. I feel my mother is in a safe, caring environment and the manager always responds quickly to any questions or concerns.
Our mother moved in on January 2017 after being recommended by 2 other people's parents we know and it is all they said it was. Since then we have recommended another mother and all 4 are friends and very happy. Our mother described it like having "servants" who do everything for you, that the carers go "over and above" to please and are all lovely and she is fussy! She has really settled after 55 years in her previous home.
My dad is very happy at Steeple View. He receives good care. If I have any queries they are sorted quickly and efficiently. Could have more activities for the residents.
Our family gets great peace of mind knowing mum is so well looked after. Every member of the care team who I have come across is attentive to mums personal care plan and speaks to mum with respect. An example of attention to detail would be last night when they called to confirm Christmas arrangements e.g. would mum be out with us or having lunch there. Certainly, if you needed role models of how to care for a dementia sufferer with dignity and respect go to Steeple View.
I didn't know places like Steeple View existed and am amazed at the clean, comfortable, well-supported facility it offers. The staff are lovely and aware of tenants needs. The communal facilities are second to none and the house has a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you enter the main foyer, there are no obvious air fresheners to mask any kind of odours/smells that are usually associated with elderly environments. It's relaxed, spotless, even the current redecoration is just refreshing and not obviously necessary. A beautiful place for the elderly to reside when needing support.
My mother settled in very quickly. She loves her flat. Management and staff are professional and caring. The building is sound. The only negative comment is the lack of group activities, although with the new manager this seems to be improving.
