Kennet Court is not a care home (this can be arranged independently if necessary), but it provided a few years of very happy living for my mother. The fact that the residents get checked on twice daily gave us huge peace of mind, and the staff (available 24/7) were always so helpful if we had any concerns and needed their help. My mother took advantage of the daily optional lunch, she saw this as her social time, and would often also go down to join the other residents for a cuppa mid-morning or afternoon. The GP surgery and supermarket (with pharmacy), both within walking distance, were a big asset.
Kennet Court offers sheltered retirement living with full-time support (day and night) enabling residents to live independently in their own bungalow/apartment for many years. It has the benefit of a dining room which provides excellent daily lunches if required (and delivered on a tray if requested). Active social club. Doctor and supermarket nearby. My mother enjoyed living at Kennet Court for five years and I was particularly glad of the support during Covid. There is a full-time office and residents are checked on twice daily. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful. It is not a nursing home but additional nursing care can be arranged separately.
