My mother has been living at Fairthorn for 8 years. It has been
brilliant. She lives in a lovely apartment, with a balcony with amazing
views, overlooking the Peak District. Fairthorn is very friendly and
inclusive, which is great for my mother as she is very social and spends
a lot of time in the communal lounge playing board games, Rummikub and
Bridge with the other residents. There are lots of other regular
activities such as Pie and Pea nights, Art Group and discussions with
the Chaplain. In addition, ad hoc events are arranged at short notice,
such as ice cream and summer drinks outside in the grounds, when it is
hot. The staff are very caring and it is great for my mother and myself
to know that there is a member of staff present at all times if she is
not well or there is some sort of problem.
