View Full Details of Victoria House Day CentreMy father attends Victoria House Day Centre during weekdays. He has found that attending the centre is beneficial for him. It is stimulating for his mind and he feels more active. The staff are very understanding and helpful. They keep my father cheerful and he loves spending time at the centre. Thank you all for your excellent work.
Until his passing, my Dad was one of the longest-standing visitors at Victoria House Day Care Centre. I can't thank the team there enough. You all became like family to him and I always felt hugely supported by you all too. My Dad would always look so pleased to see whichever one of you came to collect him on the bus and loved to greet whoever was driving. I'll never forget the big smile on his face when he saw any of you. You enabled him to feel independent, respected and valued which meant the world to him. He enjoyed all the activities and the lunches and the comfort and belonging I'm sure he felt at Victoria House Day Care Centre. You should all be proud of the amazing care you provide. I'm forever grateful we were introduced to Victoria House Day Care Centre and so pleased I got to meet such lovely people there. He was safe with you. Thank you!
As a main carer it was always a relief knowing that my partner was in good hands when she boarded the bus on her way to Victoria Day Centre. Not only do the staff look after that patients, they give a break to the 24/7 carer. On a number of visits for parties etc. I was always made very welcome and could see the care given to the patients.
Ending at the end of January 2024, my mum was going to Victoria House Day Centre for about 6 months. She has dementia, so was a little tricky at first, but she soon settled in according to her capabilities and after a few weeks she loved it and was actually pacing around the house to get out there, and as soon as the little bus came to pick her up you couldn't see her for dust. All the carers there were great, but she particularly fell in love with one. They were sad to see her go, but it just had to happen, she had to be moved into a care home. But I absolutely recommend this day centre, my mum loved it!
My wife of forty-five years, who is age 84 and has vascular dementia, goes to Victoria Day Centre. I have found the staff there fantastic, very patient and kind to my wife, she always comes back home with a smile on her face. They must be doing something right. I wish all care workers were like these staff. Well done you people. They always welcome her with a big smile and call her by her first name. Merry Xmas to you all, I wish all of the staff all the best for 2024 and keep on smiling, it makes us carers' jobs that much easier.
I am very happy with the service provided by Victoria House. The management and staff are extremely good at their jobs and provide a caring professional service. The day centre is always very clean and although I cannot say 1st hand as I haven't been present they must be providing a good social interaction and stimulating environment as my mum is always happy when I see her.
I am extremely impressed with the whole experience of this day centre. The lady who runs it goes beyond to make the residents comfortable. She and all the staff are very compassionate to the resident's needs and are very helpful in every way. I think you would find it very difficult to get a place so good and very clean.
I know I can leave my wife cared for, warm, entertained and fed well.
My husband attends the day centre 2 days a week for respite care. They are very professional as well as caring and kind. They understand his needs and make sure that he is comfortable at all times while in their care. From the moment he is collected from our home, I know I don’t have to worry about him which gives me much-needed respite. All the staff, from the drivers who collect him and the staff who look after him at the centre, treat him with respect which is really important because of his dementia. I recommend Victoria House very highly.
Cannot fault anything.
My grandmother has been coming here for a couple of years now until she had a fall, so has now moved out of the area but I can honestly say it is the most heartwarming place to go. My grandmother took part in many activities, had her hair done here and loved going to events that they hold throughout the year. My grandmother loved going here and even now remembers what days she used to go and asks if she's going (she has dementia). I will forever be grateful to all the staff and their hard work shines through. A very big thank you to you all and keep doing what you're doing as you're all amazing! If you are looking for somewhere for your loved one, then you will not be disappointed, there is always someone for them to talk to with hearts of gold.
An extremely well run day centre where we have found the staff to be consistently caring and considerate. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.
My mother always enjoys her visits to the Victoria Day Centre. The staff are always welcoming, kind and continually smiling. She is treated with dignity and highly cared for. She enjoys the activities and outings, she always comes back home re-energised.
My dad has been attending Victoria House for a couple of months, he is extremely happy there. His quality of life has much improved. The staff are all friendly and caring. Dad is always telling me the food is fabulous. Having door to door transport makes it so easy.
My Mother will be 100 years old in November 2019. My mother attends the day centre for 3 days a week and loves to be there. She thanks the staff every day for their care and attention. With a good appetite, she loves the tea/cakes and a cooked meal served at the day centre. The day centre provides good stimulation for my mother - with her state of dementia and failing heart condition. My mother lives with us in a four-generation home so is not lonely, but looks forward to her day visits to the centre on every occasion.
The staff at Victoria House were always caring and considerate to my mother's needs.
I had reservations about using daycare for my dad; I didn't think it would be his thing. I couldn't have been more wrong; his quality of life has been greatly enriched and I couldn't praise the manager and her team enough. The experience has been nothing but positive for both my dad and myself.
My uncle has been attending Victoria House for the last 6 years and is extremely happy there. He loves the staff and the food. The centre is clean, comfortable and very well run. Thank you, everyone, involved in making it so pleasant.
My father has been attending Victoria House since the summer and now goes three days a week. He is always eagerly waiting for the bus to collect him, which tells me how keen he is to go. My impression is that the staff are all so friendly and caring - they seem very involved and appear to treat each visitor as an individual. The attention to detail that has gone into the decoration and comfort at the home was a big surprise - it's an instant indication of a facility and staff that really do go the extra mile to make the service users feel at home and comfortable. My father has been taken on a day trip and a Christmas lunch - and it's just so good that he has these opportunities. I feel it's given him back a sense of purpose, independence and new social interaction at a time he really needed it. It's so reassuring to know that in the hours he's there he's being well cared for and I can rely fully on the staff. I really do appreciate Victoria House in every way. Thanks to you all.
Victoria House is run by a caring manager who has the service users needs at the forefront of all the decisions she makes. My mum has attended this day centre for several years now, three days a week. She may be feeling low and unmotivated at home but when she gets there she is engaged and stimulated in so many ways that when she gets home her mood has been lifted. It truly is a fantastic help in keeping my mum healthy and allowing my dad to have a break when she’s at Victoria House.
