View Full Details of Signature Bentley HouseI am so happy with the care my mum receives. They are always trying to encourage my mum to participate in things and to get her out of her room, even if it's just for a coffee downstairs, the staff are always so happy to help with anything you need. Bentley House is outstanding for all of my mums needs.
We have had several friends and family become members of care homes in different counties across the country. None of which compare to our recent encounters with Signature Bentley House, Hertford. Each and every component of our experience has been seamless and pleasurable. Reception welcomes you with open arms, and the care staff working throughout show the utmost respect and hospitality. Our liaison manager made it very clear prior to joining that our loved one would be made to feel part of a community whilst receiving a high standard of care. We have been filled with such confidence thus far. Leading us to prompt others to choose this care home over others.
I found Signature Bentley House very friendly, kind and caring, my friend was very well looked after and supported during his time there. The staff go out of their way to help and support when needed. The food was great and entertainment was good. Always felt very welcome when visiting, staff always up for a chat and always very helpful if I had any concerns. Overall I lovely place to be.
Our dear friend for whom we held Lasting Power of Attorney for began living at Bentley House in March 2023 following the death of his wife. From the first visit to Bentley House, he was made to feel welcome. Everything was discussed with him, rather than us, which made him feel in control and valid, it was after all his decision. As the song goes ' Everyone knew his name' after that first and subsequent visits. My friend found the food to be faultless, he deemed the nutritious soups delicious. Enjoyed the variety of daily options. And when feeling in need of a simple fried egg on toast it was never a problem. His spacious apartment was kept clean, as were his clothes. As for his care, there was continuity at every stage of his life at BH. Liaison between BH and his LPA's was faultless. Eric often said it's like being in a 5* hotel, his needs were met and he was happy residing there, being surrounded by his own possessions, and familiar faces. Independence with excellent care 24/7.
Bentley House were amazing in the care they provided for my mum in the last few weeks of her life. We had hoped she would have been with them for longer. A difficult time for all but she was treated with dignity and exceptional care. Thank you.
My Mother has been a very happy resident for over a year now. Throughout this time all the staff have been unfailingly courteous & helpful. My Mother's care has been exemplary & it's been a pleasure to chat to the two ladies on Reception. Dom has always been on hand to helpfully deal with any issues- nothing has ever been too much trouble - from settling my Mother to making sure she gets the best care. Thank you so much.
My father moved in to this wonderful home in May. It was no easy decision for us as family, however finding Bentley House made us feel so reassured that Dad would be in the best possible place. The home itself is beautiful with a warm and welcoming environment. The staff have been absolutely incredible with Dad, from care staff to liaison management to reception staff; wherever he goes, he is greeted with a huge smile and warmest of encounters, this makes him feel extremely valued as a resident and part of a new and extended family. The staff are extremely caring and responsive and have been fantastic at communicating with us and welcoming us all as family. Dad has formed incredible bonds with some staff. They are fantastic at providing feedback. No question or request is too much, and they are always learning about Dad to personalise his care. We feel blessed to have Dad living at Bentley House and hope he continues to have this amazing accommodation and care for years to come.
I was initially concerned about moving my mother into a residential care home, as she had always said a care home would not be for her. The move into Bentley House was very straightforward once we had a move-in date. Soon after she moved in, she said that she was very happy being at Bentley House. The staff are all very kind, friendly and very polite to her and always use her name. She enjoys going to the cafe for tea and cake and seeing other residents and staff. She has been taken to watch films in the cinema which she has enjoyed. She has tried a few activities and the staff are encouraging her to try some more.
My Stepmother moved into Bentley House July 2024. The transition from home to Bentley House was smooth thanks to the support and guidance of staff. Although early days and the huge change to her life she has voiced that it was the right choice and place for her. Considering that she has high expectations she has settled and is enjoying the activities offered. She considers the food to be of a good standard and has praised the care and commitment all staff have shown her.
My father-in-law moved into Bentley House in May, sadly due to having early-onset Alzheimer's. It was a very difficult decision that my husband and his sister had to make but, having provided care for him to an increasing degree over the last 7-odd years, it was undoubtedly the right one. The first impression is that it seems more like a 5-star hotel than a residential care home. The words care home can, as I am sure most people imagine, conjure up quite unpleasant images, but Bentley House couldn't be further from these stereotypical ideas. It is very clear that time, effort and consideration have gone into every aspect. This isn't a place that people come to wait for God but rather to actively live and experience what is there for life to offer. Nowhere is perfect and there won't always be an ideal solution for every problem, but I'd wager that Bentley House and its staff come as close as is possible. Would highly recommend it to anyone in our position.
Dad did not spend long at Bentley House but his last few weeks were comfortable for him. The staff in Cedar Ward were very caring, as was the nurse in charge. I was very touched by the care of Dad the day he died and the kindness/respect shown to him and me.
Although only a short stay - my aunt would have loved the facilities. The client liaison manager was absolutely amazing and did all that one could ask of him. Was a pleasure to meet all the staff and the cooling of my aunt in her last days was exceptional.
Our experience with Bentley from the very start has been excellent. Every aspect has been dealt with very well and with little fuss. Viewing was easy, getting a room was easy, moving in was easy and the continued support is awesome. We are so pleased with how this has turned out and couldn’t ask for a nicer environment for Mum, who is also very happy in her new “home”. Dominic was especially helpful throughout. Bentley House is from what we have learnt a different class from the others around.
My friend has resided at Bentley House for many years on the dementia floor. The staff have always been so friendly and caring towards all the residents and visitors from what I have seen during my time visiting. Nothing seems to be too much trouble when speaking to the staff, no matter how big or small the task is. The home is immaculate, with wonderful settings and daily activities for the residents to enjoy! I always enjoy my time spent there.
My friend visited Bentley House for a 4 week respite unfortunately after having a fall, and I have to say from start to finish the care and compassion that the team at Bentley have shown has been incredible. The facilities alone made me want to move in and I genuinely believe that if it wasn’t for the care and hard work they put in, my friend wouldn’t be in the brilliant position they are in now. Can’t thank you guys enough!
Nothing is too much trouble at Bentley House. All staff are caring and committed - even knowing every resident's name and cheerfully smiling 'hello'! Bentley House is not perfect, but it is pretty close. I know my mum is safe and well cared for and I can leave her in that knowledge, which gives me peace.
It is such a relief to know that my mum is being cared for in a professional manner and that she is happy and enjoying herself at Bentley. I go out of my way to get to know her fellow residents, other visitors and staff every time I visit and it really feels like I am going into my mum's home because everybody is friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
My mother lived in her home with my help until she was 89. Sadly there followed a stroke and dementia and we were advised that she should no longer live alone. I researched carefully and moved her to an assisted living apartment in Bentley House, Hertford with the promise of 24-hour care on hand and help with personal care and everyday requirements eg meals, laundry etc. The facilities were fine but mum was moved to a 5th-floor apartment which we soon discovered was the only inhabited apartment on the floor. Mum became increasingly isolated. Her mental health deteriorated. I discovered sores on her body. She was not showered. They couldn’t manage her medication, personal care or mood swings. Challenging behaviour was met with calls for me to attend or hospital stays. I was soon the only one to shower her. It was clear that Bentley House could not manage Mum, promises were broken, and her care was lacklustre and inadequate. We moved.
Mum moved to Bentley House 4 weeks ago and is very settled and happy there. The staff are excellent and the accommodation and the food are a very high standard. It is an example of how a care home should be.
In one word outstanding. It's not cheap as we all know but we as a family have been thoroughly impressed since our family member took up residence at the beginning of October 2023. The care is brilliant and it is great to see staff members going about their duties in a diligent manner with a smile on their faces.
