View Full Details of West Banbury CottagesOur son has been living at West Banbury Cottages for just 4 months and is settling in very well. The care team and staff around him are working together to help him make adjustments in his life as he gets used to a new home. It is still early days but we are happy that he is in a secure and calm environment with staff who care and manage him creatively offering a varied programme to keep him occupied and busy. The location is magnificent and the site is well maintained with plans for development in the future. Policies for the pandemic have been excellent and precautions have been practical and safe. As a family, we are very happy that he is somewhere where life can be fulfilling and happy for him surrounded by a team who care.
My son has been living at West Banbury Cottages for 6 years. Our family are very happy with the way he is cared for. The staff and management are kind and have created a 'home from home' for him. His needs and interests are always considered and staff and management offer creative solutions to create the best opportunities for him. During a recent period of ill health, my son was cared for considerately and well. After incredible patience and effort by all the staff and management, he has now bounced back even stronger. He has a great rapport with staff and enjoys their company. The site is well equipped, well maintained and tranquil. West Banbury gives our family peace of mind knowing that he is happy and well looked after and we can visit him anytime.
Over the last 14 months, my son has been well cared for and given every consideration as to his well being. He is happy and settled and has fostered good relationships with both his carers and other residents. His interests and hobbies have been catered for and he lives a fully engaged timetable. The site is in a beautiful setting with plenty of grounds for recreational activities and the cottages are charming and well equipped. The management keep in direct contact with me and couldn't be more helpful, his day to day carers are dedicated and have really got to know him. I couldn't be more pleased with how it has all worked out, I don't think his placement could have gone any better.
My two sons have lived at Bornel for several years now and are very happy there. I have peace of mind knowing my boys are well looked after by the manager and her team. My boys would not be there if I thought they weren't happy.
My two sons have lived at West Banbury for the last six and seven years and I am very pleased with the care and kindness they receive. They have come on in leaps and bounds and are very happy all the time, which I know is because the staff and management have such a good rapport with them both. We are welcome to visit anytime and nothing is too much trouble, the boys' welfare comes first at all times and I can't praise the team highly enough! It really is a home from home and I can't thank them enough. My boys are very happy and it shows in their behaviour, which has changed immensely! Thank you.
It is clear from anybody that visits West Banbury Cottages that it is a professionally run care home who do amazing work. The residents are active and very well cared for. Having seen other facilities in Devon and Cornwall over the past 20 years this is one of the best. The Directors and general management is excellent and this effect ripples down to staff. Training, ethos and quality activities are all driven from this attitude. There is a positive 'can-do' culture. The rural location is excellent for much of what they do here. I think social media is overused but in this context it is not. A light touch of social media posting of activities reveals a lot of information about a nonverbal adult and keeps us in regular, almost daily contact. It is obvious from my son's nonverbal cues that he is happy at West Banbury. I wish this was a model for other establishments. There are so much subtle but positive lessons to learn about this place.
My son has been a resident for close on 2 years now. I have been very pleased with the service. A big improvement was noticed in my son's behaviour within weeks. The staff are friendly and co-operative. I would recommend this service.
This place is an amazing model of care for young people with complex learning difficulties/ ASC and we very much appreciate the care and love that has been shown to our son over the last 3 years. He has matured and settled down in his challenging behaviour so well. The management is very good and communication is good. I do recommend it frequently to friends in a similar position.
My daughter has lived at West Banbury Cottages for almost two years. She was moved for emergency safety after her previous home abused her. West Banbury took her with no transition, the only information they had on her individual behaviours came from us her parents. Definitely, not the way to make a move but she settled from the very first day. Her carers took in her needs, showed great compassion and understanding to help her settle. Since being there, her medical needs are constantly being reviewed which has given her a better quality of life. All the residents live together as a community enjoying home life and outings together. As her parent, I feel very happy about her life especially given her previous experience. The management are especially helpful, responding to commutation positively and offer help when needed. West Banbury is a home away from home.
