View Full Details of Whitby Court Care HomeOur 94-year-old mum needed to transition from assisted living care to fully inclusive care. She also needed to move quite a distance and relatively quickly to enable her to get a place in a facility that we thought would best suit her needs. We came across Whitby Court Care Home and from the initial visit to look around, we were made to feel welcomed by very informed, very skilled and very caring staff. We knew from the onset that this would be the perfect place for our mum. The care team showed us round and we were very impressed by the quality of care, the friendliness of the staff, the location, the facilities and the feeling that there was a community in which our mum could be a part of. Mum has only been here a short time. But within that time, we have seen a big change. Mum is eating well, engaging with both staff and fellow residents, motivated in attending the wide variety of daily activities. Every time I visit, she presents as happy, contented and best of all, smiling! Thanks so much.
Mum has settled quickly, she likes being here and feels safe. Her anxiety seems to have settled. Staff are polite, friendly and take their time with her. Enjoys her meals. Home is clean, not noisy and doesn't smell.
Since becoming a resident my mum has quickly settled into Whitby Court. I was concerned that she might find it difficult to adjust but I was relieved to find she was made to feel so welcome and included in everything. The manager was very helpful making the initial process of becoming a resident much easier to understand and has continued to help and support in the months since Mum became a resident. The care home team quickly got to know and understand how best to support her and what makes her happy. She enjoys their company and always says how kind they are. I'm pleased we chose Whitby Court for Mum's care because I know she is happy, settled and safe.
I came to Whitby Court for respite, it was lovely here, I have felt right at home, the staff made me feel welcome from day one when I came for a look around to the time I left today. I would come back again Thank you everyone.
My mam came in for respite, and she has really enjoyed her time here and she is willing to come back in the future.
Always heartbreaking when a loved one has to be placed into full-time care. The process was made so much easier by the manager and her team at Whitby Court who took the resident in and the care she is given is so good. Whitby Court is clean and a real home from home. The staff have gone out of their way to reassure us - they combine professionalism and care and we feel very secure with the resident now calling this home. Thank you to all the staff.,
My brother has been living at Whitby Care Home, firstly on the residential floor, but after falling ill and having hospital treatment on his return to the home, he was transferred to the upper floor as he needed more nursing care. The staff are kind and considerate and looking after him well. However we have experienced some difficulty in communication with outside medical and personal issues i.e chiropody, dental and optician appointments. The contributing factor to this could be I don't live locally and cannot visit as often as I would like.
Since my dad has been in Whitby Court, I have seen and felt the kindness and love that is shown to my mum and everybody living there. I cannot thank the manager enough and all the staff throughout who look after my dad. Dad is living a life in Whitby Court. Kindness does live there.
I looked after Dad for a long while, however it became too much, I didn't realise how much. To entrust my dad into care was very very difficult to accept. The moment I walked into Whitby Court I felt there may be light for me and my dad. 2 years on and I have my life back but most importantly my dad has his. He is happy, content and safe at Whitby Court. All the staff are so kind, caring and patient. The management is exceptional. Thank you all for looking after my dad. Kindness really does live at Whitby Court.
My mother is looked after with love and dignity. Staff are kind and considerate. Most importantly, she is very happy.
My dad is happy to be here. Staff and management are brilliant, happy and cheerful and are always on hand to help, talk and care for my dad. I am happy that he is here and being well looked after, which is wonderful that I don't have to street and worry about him, I know he is in safe hands.
Staff very attentive towards patients and helpful. Time for all visitors as well as a very happy atmosphere at all times.
On my last visit, I found as always a warm friendly atmosphere. The staff are also friendly and always have a smile. The room is good and my wife well looked after and cared for, which gives me peace of mind.
Mum's stay at Whitby Court was only short as her health deteriorated quickly. During her time there I cannot fault the staff, from the manager down, everyone was hardworking, supportive, empathetic and kind. I was kept fully informed of all aspects of Mum's care and was phoned immediately when Mum's condition changed, so we were able to be with her when she passed. Flowers and chocolates go no way to fully show how appreciative I am of the care they gave to my Mum.
The staff at Whitby Court are very kind and helpful. My husband is happy and well cared for. I myself have been invited to have lunch with him. It was a very nice meal.
The staff are exceptionally kind and professional. They spend time talking to Mum which has meant her world, which had been shrinking at home, has expanded again and her quality of life and mood have improved since being at Whitby Court, which is amazing given she was very against being in a home. She enjoys the activities which the home puts on and again these add to her quality of life. The home is very welcoming to visitors. When Mum has become ill, they have recognised it and sought professional help as needed. I am very grateful for their care.
On entering the building you are aware that it is a very clean and friendly place. There is good interaction between staff and residents and the care is very genuine. The quality and variety of the food are very good and the portions seem just right. Her personal hygiene is excellent as Mum has very poor sight. It's a relief to me that Mum is so well looked after. Thank you.
Very pleased that my granny has settled in so well. The premises are very secure however when entering, I am not asked who I am going to see (most staff know me now). Most of the staff are very attentive and efficient. I couldn't imaging another care home I would rather visit. Most staff give me updates on how my gran's mood and sleep pattern have been like.
The care and support given to both my husband and myself from the staff in Whitby Court Care Home was exemplary. Every task was completed with warmth and affection in the final weeks of his life. Due to the high ratio of staff to residents, it would be helpful if staff names could be displayed (perhaps on an information board with pictures) to enable visitors to reciprocate the personalised contact already given by staff.
Mother has been in Whitby Court for a long time (11 years I think!). She was in very poor shape on the day she went in and now looks wonderful for her age (103). She enjoys her food and the company and is kept clean and neat. I couldn't ask for more, as I can go home and relax knowing she is safe and well.
