Excellent accommodation, first class and well-qualified nursing staff. Administration and support are first-rate and highly professional. Liaised effectively throughout her stay. So reassuring, given my residence in Surrey. Highly commended.

My mum took residence in Hallmark Penylan House last February. She was very poorly on admission, requiring 24 hour care and life expectancy low. In December, mum reached 88 years of age, if it weren't for this fabulous home I would have lost her. The staff are so warm and caring, when I visit they have become more like friends. What an exceptional care home!

My mum has been a resident of Penylan Care Home since November 2024, so far she has been well looked after. Her eating has improved and she is looking much better and healthier. The food is very good. There is an excellent entertainment team who provide activities and live singers and encourage residents to participate. Christmas was especially good and a joy to be a part of the welcoming Penylan House family. The carers do a fantastic job under sometimes very difficult circumstances. Thank you.

My grandmothers care at the home is reflective of which staff are working each day which, although shouldn't be the case, does have an impact on the day to day. There are never problems in general, but her overall demeanor is noticeably improved on certain days. Any issues we have had have been dealt with by the staff on duty and my grandmother is very happy which is wonderful. Certain carers are exceptional and the entertainment and stimulation is fantastic, with live concerts, parties and events that are catered to all residents no matter their ailments and also family members.

Throughout the festive period the home was decorated beautifully inside and out. The tree even had embroidered stars with individual residents names on. Every week day there was entertainment, ranging from choirs, individual artists, music students from the university and even a pony dressed as Santa's helper. There were also festive activities, making tree decorations, baking and flower arranging. Nothing is too much trouble and every resident is involved in some way. So much thought and effort goes into organising these activities. There was also a Christmas fair, Christmas party and a New Year's Eve party where families all got together to celebrate. The whole home was involved in some way and the atmosphere was fabulous. There are activities throughout the year, most days in fact, but the team excelled over this wonderful festive time.

I have been visiting the care home for a number of years and believe my mother could not be in a better place for her current needs. From reception to care and of course the activities section, the staff are amazing and carry out a wonderful job. First class all, well done and thank you for all your dedication and effort.

My experience of Penylan House is it's a very good nursing home. The staff are very welcoming and good at their job. The activities team go one step further to keep residents happy. They are amazing. This is the right environment for my husband. Food is of an excellent standard. Penylan House garden is beautiful.

My relative moved to Penylan House from a residential-only care home when she needed access to nursing care. The care she received there was exemplary in every respect. Every single member of staff was warm, caring, efficient and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. As a visitor, I was treated with equal kindness and concern. I would not hesitate to recommend Penylan House. The facilities are great - even the artwork in the corridors is the real deal but it was the staff who made the place so outstanding.

My husband was treated with dignity and the staff were friendly, respectful and very caring and made it extremely comfortable for him. He is hoping to go back again in the near future. Thank you for all your kindness to me and my husband.

Penylan Care Home is a welcoming, safe place for your loved one. My father has been a Dementia resident here for 1 year and I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they have given him. It's a huge relief for us knowing that he is in a place that not only caters for his needs but respects his boundaries. The staff work hard and are always professional. There are daily activities for the residents and we love looking at the photos, seeing how the residents engage. Families are always welcomed and we've certainly become part of the furniture!

As the son of a resident, I have nothing but praise to give to the nurses, careers, and staff at Penylan Nursing Home. The level of attention and care provided to its residents is second to none. My mother has been a resident for over 2.5 years and we could not have wished for a better home for her to be in. They have cared for her continuously and always encourage her to participate in activities which they have plenty of during the week. At the forefront of the staff's mind at Penylan is resident care first and foremost. Each member is friendly, empathetic and out to do their best for the residents.

My main contact with the home has been with staff who have been truly wonderful in enabling video call calls with my mother. I live abroad and am unable to make frequent physical visits, so video calls are an excellent medium which, I think, may have started during the pandemic. On the occasions when I have visited the home I have found the staff to have been friendly, welcoming and professional in a very demanding environment. Regarding my mother's care - there are two incidents which stand out - one was the chance to ride the double bicycle, something I never thought she would do again and a visit to the ice rink; my mother would have done both activities when she was younger. My mother has been exposed to a number of new experiences at the home - particularly the multicultural events and celebrations - something she would not have encountered had she been living at home. The staff have gone over and above what is expected of them to enrich the lives of the residents.

Excellent care and service are provided by professional and caring staff. Lots of activities are organised to keep residents interested, happy and active. Mental and physical health are closely monitored, and we are kept fully informed of issues, concerns and what we can do to help. Staff are always willing to act on suggestions from us. So happy that they are happy and thriving.

A fantastic care home which offers loads of different activities for the residents and they also host amazing family days throughout the year. I highly recommend this care home. The staff are incredible with all residents.

Penylan is a culturally competent home, who cater for such a diverse range of conditions, cultures, and beliefs. It has a personal touch where the staff not only mix with residents on their floor but with all residents in the home. The activity staff are second to none in terms of the amount and range of activities they carry out and the decision to put our mum into this particular place of residence has eased our worries no end. Well done to all, I cannot thank you enough.

My husband entered the care home six months ago, I was devastated, I didn't know what to expect but I did not need to worry. My husband has settled in far quicker than I expected. Everyone has been amazing, they are wonderful to me and my husband. It feels like, when I visit, I am coming to my second home. Thank you Penylan House Nursing Home, carers, management, activities, cleaners and everyone.

Mum has been at Penylan since June 2020. The staff are outstanding, nothing is too much trouble and they always take the time to listen to you and answer your questions. Standards of hygiene, food and entertainment is excellent. Excellent service from doctors at the local surgery. Would recommend this home to anyone with complete confidence that their loved one would be safe and well cared for.

Since dads recent move into Penylan House Nursing Home, we have been reassured about his care. The staff have been so kind and caring to dad settling him in. As a family visiting, we have always been made to feel welcome. His dignity and the care given to dad we feel have been gold standard.

The staff, carers, and management make it a lot easier for us to make the decision to leave Mum in their care. Mother has settled to her new life and routines made easier by the care, help and compassion shown to her by everyone that comes into contact with Mum.
