View Full Details of Lomond View Care HomeMum has been at Lomond View since aug 2024. Her care has been exemplary. The manager is a genuine carer and I have seen at first hand her work ethic, vision for the home but most importantly her caring approach to my mum and family. The staff here are excellent. Mum was in a previous care home and I have experience of care homes down south. Lomond Care far exceeds anything I have seen. Keep up the good work.
Since my Dad arrived at Lomond View he's been so well looked after, and treated with care, respect, love, and fun (he's a character!). This week viewing a significant drop in his health we all spent time with him. I live in England and stayed with him overnight for 2 nights. The staff not only cared for him but for me too, bringing me toast and tea, and offering a bed if I needed it. Thankfully Dad's improving and I'm humbled and delighted by all you do. How you and your staff really care. Than you from the bottom of my heart. I can't be there often but he's in such a caring, capable hands. Thank you!
My Mum has been resident in Falkland View for 22 months. I last wrote a review in August 2023 and to date, through changes of management and in some cases, carers, my previous review is still current and gives a true reflection of the wonderful care my Mum continues to enjoy. 'Care' is still the mantra delivered by receptionists, laundry, housekeeping, carers, nurses, activity manager, chefs, home manager and assistant manager. I see and feel teamwork, which over the last 6 months has been instilled through management hands-on training, creating a secure, healthy and happy environment. The exemplary behaviours shown by all staff in the home are galvanised not just by the words they use with the residents, but also by the actions they take in a caring, respectful, dignified and gentle manner. The staff are kept very busy but never too busy to deal with what's important for the wellbeing of every resident. My mum continues to love being part of the Lomond View family.
Mum has been living at Lomond View since July this year, she had a bad fall earlier in the year & broke her hip, sadly even after the hip was replaced she was unable to walk & requires 24-hour care. Mum also has vascular dementia. When Mum first moved into Lomond View there were a few initial teething problems which staff & management worked with us to get sorted out quickly & helped Mum settle into her new surroundings. Mum's now built up a good relationship with her carers & manager alike & has made friends with lots of the other residents. The home has a good variety of social events every week varying from trips out in the minibus, live entertainment, pamper sessions & much more. This has really helped to lift Mum's spirits. It's so nice to see her looking so happy again. I've found all the staff to be cheerful & approachable & they always take time to chat to us when we go in. The food seems to be good & there is always a choice available.
My sister, who was suffering from Alzheimer's and my brother-in-law, who had a terminal illness, were residents at Lomond View Care Home from December 2023. Sadly, my brother-in-law died in February 2024 and the staff at Lomond View could not have done more to look after my sister and to her help with her grief. My sister then took a turn for the worse in July and passed away in August 2024. Lomond View staff were extremely caring whilst helping my nephews deal with the practical matters of their deaths and also volunteered to hold a Funeral Tea for our family at the home after my sister's funeral last Friday, 23rd August. They provided an excellent spread for us with copious amounts of food and beverages and we were all very grateful for their efforts to look after us and to help us come to terms with our sad loss. The home is very well presented with lovely views and lots of activities to make life as enjoyable as possible for all the residents. We thank you all.
Living abroad and far away from my parents in the home. I have found the home has gone over and above to keep us informed about my parents and have helped out with getting us in touch with support we would need to ensure all goes smoothly regarding any care, finance and outside agencies to help regarding diet and glasses. When I was over visiting I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I love the amount of activities put on for the residents and the happiness shown on the residents' faces that I chatted to in the dining room. From the manager down to the auxiliary staff I cannot fault such a friendly happy team.
My mother has been a resident for just under a year and we are very happy with the care and attention she receives. She enjoys the day trips out and the activities put on for the resident's. She also enjoys the company of the other residents. The staff are always friendly and willing to help. What I like is you can visit at any time.
My mum recently moved into the care home. We had no experience of care homes and did not know what to expect. We have been very impressed with the entire package. Good-sized room, opportunity to bring in items from her home, the friendliness and professionalism of every staff member. The visibility of the manager and the chef. The quality of the food, the activities and the overall feeling that my mum is safe. (Too early to be clear about value for money - no invoice yet).
My wife was admitted to Lomond View on 11/5/23 and her condition required considerable care. Early teething problems were quickly resolved by the manager. My family and I found there was a lack of information re laundry, visiting, nursing, GPs, etc. and I understand this is now in hand. The laundry service has been erratic and from time to time there is an unpleasant smell in the building. My wife has eaten well but there is a need for more variety. However all the staff have been cheerful, helpful, and have acted professionally.
My partner moved in three months ago and I see a big turn for the better under the new manager's leadership. He is working wonders on the atmosphere in the building, staff and running of the place, as things had slipped down and it just takes a while to bring things back up to scratch. But it is in progress for sure.
Completed room change this month with personable help. Lost Blue Badge Card - reported to the Police. Security for medicines non-existing. Security of personal possessions non-existent. No toilet rolls dispenser or replacement date. Satisfactory adjustments in dining/meal times, little staff, usually self-service. Laundry is a disgrace, losses continue and two sweaters gone astray.
