View Full Details of St Mary's Residential Care HomeMy sister chose St Marys for herself and was there for five and a half years. The care she had was excellent through out her time there right until she died in January 2025 The care she received was always appropriate to her needs and changed as she became more frail. As visitors we were always treated pleasantly and we were always made aware of any changes to my sisters condition or care. I told the manager of the home that I never had any concerns about my sister as she was so well looked after. I can thoroughly recommend this home
I believe my sister has settled in quite well, despite decreasing mobility which makes her care more complex. There have been a couple of medical issues which were managed by St. Mary's which I was unaware of and noted/ noticed during a visit, prior to June 2024. I sometimes find it difficult to speak to a member of staff during my visit regarding any concerns as I am normally referred to a Senior, who may or may not have the time or availability as they are supporting other residents. I believe that over time I will establish a system for communicating effectively with my sister's carers. I really like the atmosphere at St. Mary's and all team members have been welcoming during my visit. I live quite a distance away so the use of the car park is very good. The activities and general entertainment programmes seem very well thought through and organised.
Very good as usual. My dad has been at St. Marys Residential Care Home for six years now, and still think this is the place to be. I am not a person who is full of words, so I find it difficult to fill in this feedback.
St Mary's has cared for Mum for 4 years and she is so happy there. Mum can be anxious but the care she is given and the love the carers share mean that she is super happy and we are very pleased with her care.
The home seems well-managed in a relaxed way, but managers will get 'stuck in' if needed. Staff are very busy, resident-centred and caring, and work as a team. Residents are accorded dignity and actively called by their name. Annual events are celebrated. The building has its own character and is homely. Before moving in, every evening Mum complained about the absence of people (she is a city person). No more. If only to help them feel more connected, visitors could do with more information - like maintenance plans and staff changes. Posts on social media help to make the home seem more outward-facing. Every time after visiting her I believe that my mum is in safe hands, in a warm environment. In fact, it is a pleasure to visit (and those who have visited with me have said the same). I think that I would be OK to live at St Mary's.
My mum has lived at St Mary's for the last eight years and I can honestly say we are so happy with the care and attention she received. The staff are excellent, truly caring and always thinking about Mum's health and wellbeing.
My mother has been a resident of St Mary's since December 2023 and we have been extremely happy with our choice. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home and all staff members are very kind, caring and professional. They get to know the person and know their likes and dislikes which makes it feel more family than care. I have seen many situations diffused with kindness, compassion, distraction or even a lighthearted joke. The building and the residents are kept immaculately clean (no funny smells anywhere). The food is tasty and there is a good variety to choose from.
All staff I observe are attentive with needs of residents. Also extremely patient where my Aunt is concerned due to some unrealistic demands. Great to see my Aunt in her wheelchair outside in Worthing Town Centre last week.
The atmosphere at St Mary's is truly personal and homely, the abundance of genuine love and constant laughter has allowed my Mum to feel beyond safe and at home. The constant feedback on a one-to-one basis is above and beyond the normal call of duty. The consistency of the staff is another big plus. As I am away for long periods of time I am always kept up to date and should a concern arise it is always dealt with. There is not a single sector that I can find fault with. Bravo Team St Mary's.
I am not a resident so can only review as a visitor. St Mary's is a very nice, well-managed home.
Have been to St Mary's to visit my mother-in-law. The staff were lovely, very helpful and caring. The home is very clean and mother-in-law's room very cosy. This home is much better than we could have wishes for.
Second day of my sister's stay. Saw her today, sitting in the lounge, she looked so well and happy. St Mary's is exceptional. She loves children and met some today. Thank you, to see her so well and happy is wonderful. Thank you.
Highly recommend St Mary's Residential Care Home. Staff can't do enough. Staff are very respectful and listen. Staff very cheerful and cheer me up and we have a laugh. Everyone from manager to laundry staff helped my stay here. I would come again.
My husband is well cared for. The staff are friendly and caring. I am pleased he is being cared for in a happy place.
My brother has been at St Mary's since February 2023. He is difficult to deal with as, apart from his mobility problems, he refuses to go out or join in with anything. However, the staff seem to have got used to him and treat him well and he is happy. I have marked activities as such because my brother won't take part and I have marked value for money accordingly as his placement is paid for by the council.
An excellent care home with friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. The home is kept scrupulously clean and tidy and is well stocked with the essentials. On the negative side - the staff numbers mean that those in post appear to be overworked and are consequently not able to spend much time with residents, particularly if they want to go outside into the gardens (as most need to be accompanied). Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives by a considerable margin.
Dad went to St Mary's after a short hospital stay. He settled in so quickly, and all of the staff are absolutely wonderful, and the care team treat him with such respect and dignity, which is so important for us as a family to see. I would recommend St Mary's to anyone wanting the same compassionate care.
I visit a friend at St Mary's fortnightly, phoning her weekly. The staff are always helpful and welcoming and are looking after my friend kindly and attentively. My friend is very articulate, and the staff have enjoyed engaging with her. The home is always clean, tidy and welcoming.
Kind, caring, friendly, respectful and professional.
As a family, we feel very fortunate to have been recommended St Mary's. From the moment Dad arrived at the care home, he was welcomed and included. He is known by everyone and is always treated with dignity, love and patience by all the staff. The residents are clearly at the "centre". Most of all, Dad is happy there. It is so hard to make the decision to place a dear Dad in residential care, but we know he is in a wonderful place, and thank you all.
