View Full Details of Gracefields Nursing HomeMy mum was only with/in Gracefields for one week. She was looked after very well by the nurses, staff, and management to a very high standard. The care, compasion and respect was, and is of top quality. I would definitely recomend this home for the care and nursing of a loved one.
Showed care and compassion looking after my Dad, the nursing and care staff provided the best possible care. Hospital level cleanliness and facilities. Well maintained property that gives a very professional feeling.
My dad had been a resident at Gracefields since December 2022. Sadly he recently passed at the ripe old age of 98. During his time at Gracefields, the whole team were so committed to providing the best possible care, and attending to his everyday needs, with so much kindness, understanding and respect. I can't fault the way in which my Dad was looked after in his final years and for that, I will be forever truly grateful. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Gracefields who each and every day take care of our loved ones with professionalism and pure dedication, where would we be without you.
Fantastic nursing home and staff. The home is always clean and tidy, especially my dad's room. The room is brightly decorated and feels like a home, safe and welcoming. The staff are fantastic and very attentive to my dad as he has complex nursing needs. They are compassionate and humane in their approach to their work and the residents. I am very comforted to know my dad is in such a wonderful home and the level of care is exceptional.
My father was a resident at Gracefields for 5 years until he recently passed away. Following a stroke, he was partially paralyzed and moved to Gracefields when he began to need full nursing care and assistance. The staff were very friendly and took excellent care of him throughout his stay, making sure he was comfortable at all times and accommodating his personal requirements, preferences and requests. They would do their utmost to enable him to participate in activities for as long as he was well enough to do so. They were extremely vigilant of his medical care and needs and would contact us if there was any significant change in his condition. They were warm and welcoming to him and to us, his family, and made us all feel part of his life at Gracefields. Our thanks go to all the staff who do an outstanding job.
Mum and Dad both arrived at Gracefields Nursing Home in November 2022. I visited them the same day and was met by a friendly nurse whose words were "Don't worry, we will look after them." She kept her word, Mum was truly looked after by nurses and carers. Sadly, she passed away not long after. The care and support that continues with Dad have been outstanding. All staff are very knowledgeable and compassionate but it's the personal touches, the camaraderie between staff, residents and families that make Gracefields unique. The staff definitely make this care home.
At Gracefields House, there was always a friendly welcome when visiting. Staff were kind, friendly and professional when dealing with both residents and visitors alike. Care was always good and prompt whenever required, giving confidence that Mum was in safe hands. On Mum's passing, the care and dignity shown were exceptional, which was important to us... thank you.
I am a very critical person but I can not see how Gracefields could improve the care, also all the staff are excellent from management to carers. I put satisfactory for value for money as I don't believe anyone should pay for care, it should be government-funded.
Very caring staff who do an amazing job. Thank you to you all, and well done to the person on the activities too. Always very clean, nice big rooms with en suite. Lovely garden space a very nice place to sit and talk to other residents and visitors.
From the outset when I was looking for a home for Dad, the service I received was excellent. I was looking for a place during Covid and tried several homes and their office administrator stood out as she was very sympathetic, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Once Dad moved into Gracefields he settled in really quickly and was more than happy with the care and staff that looked after him. I cannot praise the staff enough and would like to thank them all, it meant a great deal to his family to know he was in the best place with the best care being given at all times. Thank you all so much.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Gracefields Nursing Home - Mum was receiving end-of-life care and was only there for a short while but she loved it - she wished that she had gone there sooner as the quality of the food and care was second to none. From the time that she arrived to flowers, a card and chocolate as a welcoming gift right through to the end when the staff welcomed the family to stay with her until the end. We could not fault it.
My partner spent such a short time in Gracefields Nursing Home before he passed away, only two weeks, but I can thank the manager, nurses, careers enough. He had just the best care I could ever wish for, and I do know he was very happy there, he had a lovely room with a patio door to go outside for a while. One again very many thanks to the manager, her nurses and the care staff who looked after him.
My sister and I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff that helped to care for Mum. Although she was receiving end-of-life care she was very happy at Gracefields. All the staff were lovely and we couldn’t have wished for better care for our mum. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gracefields.
My dad was a resident of Gracefields for three years. During his time there he was looked after extremely well. The care home always informed us of any medical problems dad had and welcomed us into their home like we were all family. The care home is kept very clean and tidy with the cleaner on duty at all times. The food they serve is always fresh and anything different that the resident may want is always available you just need to ask for it. The entertainment is very good they get regular singers to come in and often put on things where the family are invited in to be part of it. My dad liked to be quiet in his room or with his family so he was not forced to go and take part in the activities he was encouraged to take part but not forced. The staff were all very kind and considerate right up until the end of his life.
My mother has lived at Gracefields Nursing Home for almost 2 years. She took a while to get used to not living in her own home. Her care here is exemplary and especially during Covid. She is now very content here and is very well looked after.
After illnesses and a series of falls made independent living no longer safe for our mother, we needed to find a suitable care home. We made an unannounced visit to Gracefields Nursing Home and were made very welcome. The manager spent time giving us details about care offered as we could not see facilities due to Covid-19 restrictions. We were extremely impressed and mother has been there safely for seven months. The home is staffed by kind and caring people who are able to help her deal with my mother's limited mobility and encourage her to keep busy and interact socially should she want to. Her room has washing and toilet facilities. My mother is sensitively looked after by pleasant and sympathetic carers. Food is well prepared and nutritious. Weekly activities include live musicians, arts, crafts and games. Visiting pods and video calls made contact possible and lateral flow tests now enable visits in mother's room. We can always discuss any health issues with nursing staff and are updated frequently.
My mother was admitted to Gracefields in December 2019 for palliative care and was looked after until her death in January 2020. The staff are exceptionally kind and nursed Mum with compassion and dignity during her illness. It is always worrying leaving the care of a close family member to someone else but I had confidence Mum had the care she needed. Her room was very pleasant and the whole nursing home was very clean.
My father has physically improved since moving into Gracefields having spent four months in hospital thanks to the care and attention he is receiving. His dementia is understood and the staff take time to explain what is happening with his care needs and update me on his overall wellbeing. The manager is really approachable and al the staff are friendly and helpful and deal promptly with any enquiries.
My mother has been at Gracefields for several months. When we visited the home prior to her moving there, we were impressed by the fact that it didn't have that "nursing home smell". The rooms are clean and well furnished as are all of the public areas. The ratio of staff to residents is good so we know that my mum is safe. Staff are all really attentive and helpful and they encourage the residents to take part in the wide range of activities that are available. Relatives are encouraged to attend these activities which my dad and I do. Mum has recently been encouraged to start playing the piano again which brings us great joy. Care is taken when selecting clothes that are well laundered for residents to wear and my mum always looks a delight. We would not have wished for my mum's life to be this way but we can't think of a better place for her to be. She is very content and we have peace of mind about her safety and care.
My mother spent the last 14 months of her life in Gracefields. She was unable to care for herself as she had end-stage heart failure. She was cared for extremely well by wonderful staff who really care about their clients. The staff always seemed to be happy in their work and my mother was certainly very happy with the care she received. Because of the standard of palliative care that Gracefields was able to offer, my mother did not need to return to hospital and she died in her room peacefully, having been treated with dignity and respect to the very end.
