View Full Details of Mulberry ManorThe standard of care and kindness when our mum was very ill was outstanding. She was treated with such love and care and as a family, we also felt very looked after. The management team and the carers helped us so much at the worst time of our lives and as a family, we will be forever grateful. The staff are incredibly hard-working and are often working in very difficult circumstances.
Our first experience of finding a care home for a relative wasn't easy, however, we visited Mulberry Manor and found that just stepping inside the home felt friendly, a home from home. The room allocated was clean and fresh, and the cost was very reasonable compared to other homes. The staff at Mulberry were there to assist in settling in. Staff were empathetic and courteous at all times. Staff encouraged residents to join in with activities, meeting and greeting others. All care needs were met. Staff were trained in the equipment used. We would definitely recommend Mulberry to others.
What a lovely place, I was recommended by a care worker who was looking after my sister at the home she was in that, unfortunately, was closing down. It was very local to me and on my very first visit was impressed by all the smiling faces, there was absolutely none of the care home smells that people talk about. There was clean wipable flooring throughout. The place has had a lot of refurbishing and modernisation, not quite finished yet, but not far off. There is a hairdressing salon on site and residents have entertainment arranged by activity staff. My sister has been here nearly a month and the move has not affected her at all. She has been able to make her room her own by adding her own furniture etc. Although the ones supplied are nice. I am so pleased the care worker recommended it and the manager found her acceptable, thank you both.
Excellent care, very attentive. Would highly recommend it. I looked around lots of care homes for my mum, and this one stood out for its friendliness and openness. You can visit at any time and still witness the high level of care. The gardens could do with a tidy, but I have been told this is getting sorted next year. Don't be put off by the slightly run-down building. Mum seems very happy there, and they clearly care about her.
A decline in what was a wonderful care home. Over the last 12 months, I have seen a steady decline in the hygiene of the care home itself, there is rubbish, tyres and loads of cigarette ends to an extent I can't explain, it's not one or two it's hundreds and not exaggerating. There is a lack of stimulation for residents and while there are good carers they seem to be left to their own devices and not following care guidelines. If I could move mum I would.
I have to say, unfortunately, this, what was a wonderful care home, does not in its current state reflect on the brochure images. It is so disappointing to see the decline. The outside areas are disgusting unkempt and unclean. There are old papers, tyres and cigarette debris everywhere, some of which have been there for months. The furniture has been broken and unsafe again for months now. The activities for residents are either intermittent or none existent. Some of the staff are amazing, absolutely wonderful and take pride in their work, others/a few are just not interested. I really could go on. There just seems to be really low morale and not much in the way of inspiration and moving forward. I have in the past written wonderful reviews, I really hope I can again and very soon.
The room my husband is in is very depressing as the carpet is in a disgusting state. It is black with God only knows what, it shines! The cleaners have tried to clean, but it would not come clean and it's just getting worse. This flooring needs to be removed as it's unhygienic. The home itself needs some upgrading, old wooden windows are ill-fitting are very drafty.
I would just like to thank everybody at Mulberry Manor for a wonderful 60th Anniversary afternoon tea. It couldn't have been better if it was at a luxury hotel in London. The staff are just like family to me and my wife. You couldn't feel better if you were at home. They all collected to put it on and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
Exceptional staff and facilities. The care of my mum has been great, making her feel at ease and welcome. Meals very good quality and choice to high standards. Nothing is too much trouble. Support to my mum and also me and my welfare is taken seriously. Could not have chosen a better place for my mum to stay at this difficult and worrying time. Entertainment and leisure facilities catering for all needs. Overall excellent home.
I am extremely pleased with the care my mum receives. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have already recommended Mulberry to a friend.
My father has resided at Mulberry Manor for nearly 3 years and I am very pleased with the care my father has received. All the staff are brilliant, my father loves them all. The meals are excellent. I couldn't wish for a better care home.
We wanted mum here because it was close to where I live. She needed looking after and after a quick tour with the manager who said all the right things we opted for her move. Within the first week, they lost her false teeth. She then had cigarettes go missing. Then caught community-acquired pneumonia along with dehydration. Most of the staff were helpful but we had friction with one with whom we lodged a complaint. During the coronavirus problem visiting guidelines constantly changed to the point we didn’t know where we stood all the time. This caused problems and all we wanted was to spend time with our mum. Mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer in August and we knew we needed to get her out or she would die alone. We eventually moved her to another care home and got to spend the last month with my mum before she passed away. So if you plan on wanting to see your family don’t place them in here. We didn't find the care home very sympathetic to our position with Mum being at end of life. Mum died with us there.
Always very cheerful staff, knowledgable and helpful. The manager is easy to talk to and has a good understanding of all that is happening. A very supportive team all-round.
I feel Mom is safe and well looked after in a calm, relaxed place that I would recommend to anyone.
I have a very dear friend in the home, she is unable to walk but the care she receives is amazing. Every time I visit, I am made welcome by the staff and nothing is ever too much trouble. The atmosphere of the home is brilliant, staff are always happy, smiling, laughing, joking with the residents. There are always activities going off and something to do.
Our initial inspection three years ago impressed us far more than other homes in the area, despite some bad reviews that we had read. From day one my mother was looked after, kept clean, and was well attended to. She went on to spend over three years in the care of Mulberry Manor, and as her condition deteriorated, her care and compassion were adjusted to suit. As an only child, burdened with the knowledge that my mother never wanted to end up in a nursing home, the care she received enabled me to feel satisfied that she was in the best place to meet her needs. I cannot praise the care staff - who attended my mother - highly enough as in my opinion they all go beyond the call off duty and I witnessed this firsthand as I spent my mother's final days round the clock at her bedside. They have a tedious job to do and they do it with endless patience.
My family member is in Mulberry Manor, I’ve always liked this home, however, it’s really nice to see the changes the home's making. The management are really approachable and nothing is too much trouble, all the staff lovely and kind, they're caring with my relative. They do activities with my relative having her nails painted, there has been times I’ve come to visit and they’ve been in the lounge area doing a group activity. It’s really nice to see the positive changes!
I needed respite for my father who is 87 with Parkinsons/Dementia. I was recommended Mulberry Manor by another user whose wife has dementia - I was nervous at leaving dad at first but at the end of his respite I was actually sad he had to leave. Staff are all so friendly and treat patients with respect and humour, even management are so approachable and friendly. Rooms so clean and cosy - food fab. Dad will be going back 100% Thank you.
The care my Mum has received has been second to none. She is well looked after and cared for in all respects. I am totally happy with everything at Mulberry Manor, which puts my mind at rest.
I would highly recommend Mulberry Manor Care Home. All the staff are very helpful, good and kind. Also, all the staff treat all their residents to a very high standard (all treated the same). We are very happy to know that our aunty is being very well cared for. Many thanks to all the staff at Mulberry Manor.
