View Full Details of Amherst HouseI usually visit once a week to see my friend. I have always found Amherst House Care Home, clean and tidy, the staff are very friendly, there is always someone in Reception to ask any questions. The Residents Room is clean and tidy. I like the cosy feel of the Lounge / Dining room area. My visit last week was no exception, I join my friend at the dining table at lunch time to chat to her, the meal was of the usual good standard, they are present well to the residents, it is nice to see the food has colour to it and not just bland colours. A chef will pop down occasional to check on things. The Care staff for the House my friend is in are very happy and attentive to the residents. My friend is a social person and this Thursday they were meeting up in on of the Lounge area to celebrate a residents birthday. I I enjoy going to see my friend at Amherst House.
Everybody has been extremely kind and helpful. Medical care is excellent and communication first class.
I have been very impressed with the staff throughout the home. The atmosphere is very homely and to see such an improvement in my father-in-law is due to the way he has been looked after. Lots of activities. The food is excellent and the attention to detail is a credit to all the staff.
As a member of the ambulance service I have been in many care homes and this certainly excels in all aspects. I feel my dad is safe and very well cared for. He has settled into his new home very quickly thanks to all the staff.
I have been so happy overall with all the care and support my Mum receives on a daily basis. This was the first and foremost important factor when deciding on a care home, the one is superb. All the team are so accommodating, not only for my Mum but all the family. Nothing is ever too much trouble. With the amount of love we have for our Mum, we needed to make sure she had the best. We definitely think Amherst House is the best.
Amehurst Care Home, I visited my mother at the home as she is now a resident. The home as you enter is welcoming and friendly. On arriving at the room I was impressed with the cleanliness, the facilities and the way the staff take care of their residents. The coffee room is a wonderful inclusion as it allows social engagement with others, the dining room enables the residents again to interact. The food was lovely and again the staff at all times endeavoured to meet special requests, but also extended their hospitality to accommodate maybe extra people arriving for lunch/dinner. This care home provides safety and as a relative a sense of knowing that the residents are looked after and treated as human beings. They value and matter.
Staff are always so kind and friendly and willing to go the extra mile for their residents and their families and friends, they have a variety of activities each week which enable residents To feel part of a community. The home facilities are spotlessly clean. All the rooms have en-suite facilities. The food is freshly cooked and delicious and individual diets are catered for. A beauty salon and cinema are available and a beautiful outside area for a bit of fresh air, a beautiful area for residents to spend time in the coffee area where we can have tea and coffee and cakes and spend quality time wouldn't want my family member anywhere else.
A modern well-presented care home with polite and friendly staff. The receptionist was very welcoming and even made us (and the resident) a cup of team.
From the moment my Father-in-law was accepted into Amherst House, he has been cared for and looked after superbly. It has been a great relief to the family now that my Father-in-law is being so well cared for in a safe environment. All the staff from the managers down are excellent.
I visit my sister-in-law once a week, each time we arrive the home make you very welcome.
My auntie is considered to be at end of life and the care she is receiving is excellent. It's just a shame she can't enjoy the care home and all it offers - but for us as a family knowing she is safe and secure gives us peace of mind at this awful time.
All the carers are excellent as far as care goes and most go over and above, giving extra time to chat. The food is sometimes unsuitable for my mother-in-law, she doesn't complain, just leaves it. There doesn't seem to be many green vegetables? The entertainment is very good, although she doesn't always go, but when she does she always says how good it is. Everywhere is clean and tidy. I have always been listened to and any action needed has always followed.
Mum has been a resident since December, it hasn't been easy for her to leave her home of 55 years. However, she is slowly getting used to the new way of life and the staff cannot be kinder or more helpful to her. I hope she will begin to feel more at home as time goes by.
My husband has been a resident at Amherst House since August 2021 and through all that time, I and the family have been more than satisfied with the care and attention he has received. I have always been treated with care and consideration.
We visit my sister regularly. The home has a very welcoming interior. The staff are also very good too, make you very welcome. My sister is very happy there.
My daughter had been looking for a suitable home for me for several months. My three-bedroom house was too demanding and lonely. After many months of searching, she had some positive news, she found somewhere she thought I would like - Amherst House. We made a visit together. I liked everything I saw, especially all the smiling and busy residents in the communal sitting room, the room was spacious with room for some of my own furniture. I have been here roughly two years and loved every minute. Plenty of time to myself or activities when I want.
The staff are very welcoming. My mum has settled in well and appreciates the care she receives.
Mom was reluctant to go into a care home. But she has been very happy here and seems to be thriving.
Mum has been welcomed into the community, and the staff have quickly understood her care needs.
My mum transferred to Amherst House a couple of months ago from a different care home, which sadly had to close down. I had thought it was lovely there, but Amherst House is a notch up. It is light and airy, the staff are wonderful and very kind and caring. The home was very well designed to incorporate a coffee shop, small cinema and pub, several outdoor seating areas and a hair salon. Quite frankly I'd be happy to live there, my Mum is!
