View Full Details of Ashbourne LodgeMy uncle was in end of life care, he was only in Ashbourne Lodge for just over 1 week, but the care he received was wonderful nothing was too much trouble. In his final days they made him so comfortable and his family and friends. All the staff are amazing.
My mother was at the care home for eight years, from the moment she joined to her death in December 2024 she was looked after beautifully. The staff, managers and those involved with her care were wonderful, the atmosphere in the home was warm, friendly and caring. I lived 125 miles away and had the confidence in the staff to call me 24/7 with any problems or questions, they were superb and excellent with my mother's end-of-life care.
Absolutely outstanding. My mother lived like a queen. The exceptional standard of care, professionalism and pure love and humanity is beyond any possible expectation. I cannot praise Ashbourne Lodge too highly after 9 years of experience visiting my mother.
My gran moved in 8 years ago and was treated like a queen. Always had a smile and the staff couldn't do enough for her. I was at great peace knowing she was in a place she could call home and we cannot thank Ashbourne Lodge for everything they did for her.
The kindest, cleanest most lovely home. I have visited. Not only are the staff amazing but they truly feel part of the family!
When I came up to visit my aunt and uncle I was always delighted to visit my aunty who was a resident. She was always happy and very well looked after. The staff were always very pleasant and very helpful. If I had to go into a care home, I would love to consider this one. Thank you.
Bright, friendly, homely well-maintained place. First-class care for our loved family members. Wonderful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
Mum went into Ashbourne Lodge in March 2024, after several falls at home where she lived alone, Dad having passed away in 2019. The staff are absolutely great. Without exception, they are very friendly, always have time for a chat and build a good rapport with their residents and their families who visit. We have seen Mum become more cheeky, with more smiles, since moving in. She gets on well with both the staff and other residents. Ashbourne Lodge is a warm, caring home and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other families. We know Mum is well cared for and treated with respect. We have no worries.
My father-in-law was in Ashbourne Lodge for 18 months and my sister has been here for 8 years. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and kindness that is the characterisation of the operation here. The manager runs a very good operation and all his staff are always friendly and caring. We never worry about how my sister is being treated. We know she is receiving the best of care as did my father-in-law previously.
My mums home was in Ashbourne Lodge for nearly six years and I am extremely grateful for the care she received during that time. She sadly passed away recently and at what was a very distressing time for our family, I found the staff to be very supportive, caring and professional. She was cared for with compassion and dignity and I felt with genuine affection from the staff involved.
Overall experience is good. The staff are excellent. My mother has settled in well, is clean and well cared for.
My mother resided at Ashbourne Lodge for nearly 6 years. The staff have consistently treated her with care and kindness. She was very happy there. She passed very recently and I felt incredibly supported by all the staff. It was clear they genuinely cared about her. I have only ever seen all the residents treated with compassion and dignity. The home is always clean and it maintains excellent facilities. There are always plenty of activities for the residents and the staff engages everyone and gently encourages participation. I was very grateful that we chose Ashbourne Lodge for my mum's care.
My sister was young, with a very rare diagnosis. Care was for the person that my sister was, not just the home's customer. The staff were proactive in gaining greater knowledge of her disease and implementing a specific and tailored care regime. They made so many little dedicated touches that they had found out or asked for about my sister, from room decoration to birthday cake icing to music playlists and clothes and hairstyles. All these touches were deeply personal and made my sister's last months of life as happy as they could be. The staff gave her as much independence, physical and mental, as they possibly could, even when that encroached on their work, to ensure she had a full and fulfilling life. There was great empathy throughout and, in her last days, she died with dignity with the utmost care for her needs and the needs of the family. Thank you, Ashbourne Lodge.
Our family would like to thank every single member of the wonderful staff at Ashbourne Lodge. Our mother has received the best possible care we could have hoped for, particularly during the last few days of her life. The staff work as an amazing team and looked after our mother and our family with great kindness, support, clear information, affection, warmth, expertise and sensitivity.
Our first experience of Ashbourne Lodge was when Mum was accepted as a resident following a short spell in hospital and came in for end-of-life care in October 2022. We received a warm welcome and were given a guided tour of the rooms and facilities. Amazingly, Mum settled in well, was happy, and was constantly encouraged to participate in all of the daily events and activities. We were constantly amazed at the way the staff interact with all the residents and I have seen them dealing with a variety of difficult situations in a calm and caring way. The individual always comes first and everyone needs to be applauded for the overall care given to residents. Each resident is different and the staff have knowledge of their individual needs and know how to deal with a variety of different personalities. We do not believe Mum could have received better care for her last 18 months and the family thank everyone at Ashbourne Lodge who cared for her.
My husband and I are very happy with the care offered at Ashbourne Lodge. I would mention in particular the food which is prepared freshly each day. It is wholesome and varied and is not obviously dependent on pre-prepared goods and tins. The staff show commitment to their roles and are ever patient even under, at times, difficult circumstances.
I am impressed with the proactivity of the staff in dealing with issues, particularly in relation to getting healthcare issues addressed promptly and effectively; for example arranging appointments for hearing tests. This proactive approach gives me confidence that minor issues do not develop into major problems.
Whilst I am a relative of a recently deceased resident of Ashbourne Lodge I also want to write this review as a nurse who has worked in and visited many care and nursing homes. Sadly there are very few homes that maintain the standards, care, dignity and cleanliness that Ashbourne does. Their staff genuinely care and the patient/resident always comes first. There is a true team here from nursing staff to laundry staff to care staff to cleaning staff to admin staff to handyman staff to kitchen staff etc. Each and every person employed at Ashbourne needs and should be recognised. My sister-in-law was very young and had an extremely rapid cruel disease, from diagnosis she lived six months. Those six months were hideous and very traumatic for the family. For my sister-in-law, she could not have been cared for or looked after any better. The home and staff did so many extra things to give her a quality of life that she would not otherwise have been able to have. Thank you.
The care our mum receives at Ashbourne Lodge is exceptional. We feel that we are always listened to and that great care is taken to treat our mum and the other residents with sensitivity, knowledge and a clear understanding of their individual personalities and needs. We take great comfort in the fact that she is being looked after so well.
I would highly recommend Ashbourne Lodge to all. The care my nana receives on a daily basis is consistently exceptional. The care staff are extremely kind and compassionate at all times and treat residents with the utmost respect and dignity.
